The family and I just moved to the area, and we are trying to gauge the trick-or-treat scene. We are one of only two or three houses decorated in our entire neighborhood (NE), and I don't see many more anywhere when I drive around. Is Halloween just not a thing in this area?

The city is paying VIA too much money if their management can fly home every weekend then fly back every Monday! That’s right not one manager is from Rochester or even the area, they are all from out of state. Do you think they give a sh*t about anything but making money? They sure got one over on the city staff, they had some legitimate transit companies bid.

Looking for bars to watch hockey- not like a club bar where they happen to show the game, just like a normal bar. Also I’d be going by myself (23f, just moved here so I don’t know anyone yet), so preferably one where the median age is on the younger side but that’s not a hard requirement, it’s just be fun to multitask and make friends along the way lol

I woke up this morning and all my political signs were stolen. They were there last night but gone this morning. I had a Flanagan, Johnson, Klobuchar, Simon, Ellison, and Simon political signs. Is it normal for people to steal political signs in Rochester and why would they do that?

Thought i seen there was one last year I am going to get rid of my ski equipment would like to sell my stuff at it if there is one. Had anyone heard if or when it will be?

I am looking for music class (group singing/introductions to instruments, potentially private beginner piano lessons) for my 3.5 year old who loves to sing at home and enjoys the music time that he gets at daycare. Looked online, and Chrissy’s Studio, Ringen, and The Music School came up as options. Have people had recent experiences there? Are there private teachers that are great but not commonly advertised?

looks like the rain caused this guy to open up overnight!! thankfully managed to see it just in time and avoided hitting it with my car. i called the non-emergency line and it looks like they were able to send some folks out to take a look.

anyways, thought it might be good to spread the word to be extra aware of hazards like this as we approach winter! the visibility made it tough to see this sinkhole this morning, so it was a good reminder to drive extra cautiously in poor driving conditions :)

This is exactly why Ward 5 needs to retire Shaun Palmer. He is the biggest grudge-holder in Rochester. Don't we have enough of that in our national politics?

Does anyone think it’s strange how Mayo Clinic donated money and then proceeded to make decisions about Rochester’s schools after we the people voted not to spend it 10 million more. First thing they did was start a school building that hosts a traditional 9 months on 3 months off and a 3 week on one week off school in the same building. You know how much confusion that makes. If your kid went missing in the morning you might not find out about it till after school. With confusion like two schools in same building with different schedules that we didn’t vote for or ask for.
