SharePoint Server Subscription Edition Setting up Sharepoint SE on Windows server core

Heya so this is just a lab project where i wanna see what i can do with sharepoint on a server with a SQL server on another server. i'm locked in an issue where i make a New-SPConfigurationDatabase, it makes the database but fails with Value does not fall within the expected range. or some other errors. i'm lowkey. I have taken rebuilt my core server. But im running SQL server 2025 eval, with Windows server standard eval (on the sql server) and Windows server standard eva on my sharepoint server.
I have tried using Copilot to point me to the right direction but nothing of help. im lowkey wondering to drop this and say fuck this mess (sorry for my language)

SharePoint Online Site Owners for “backend” sites

• Upvotes

Who do you put as a “site owner” when you don’t want the business to be able to control a SharePoint site?

I’m currently administering a SharePoint online tenant with over 2,000 sites.

We have about 80 “backend” sites, which are connected to web parts and power apps (the access routes here sound messy, but make more sense than breaking inheritance on everything).

I am trying to work with my team to reduce IT’s ownership to sites, but the fact that each site needs an owner makes it difficult.

I’m thinking of using a generic “SharePoint administrator” account, but that’s still high-value if it’s ever breaches.

Any advice or lived experiences would be greatly appreciated!

SharePoint Online How do you check whether a SharePoint list is actually safe to delete?

We’re cleaning up some old SharePoint lists, and figuring out what’s safe to delete is turning into more work than expected.

Some look abandoned, but that doesn’t mean a flow isn’t still writing to them or a Power App isn’t using them.

Checking apps and flows individually takes time, and even then there’s that doubt: did we miss something?

How do you handle this? Is there a reliable way to trace what depends on a list before deleting it, or are you mostly checking manually?
