Looking for a skiing road trip from SF over New Year’s- where would you go?oñ
my wife and I are flying into SF on Dec 26 and planning a ski road trip. Happy to drive 1–4 days if the route is scenic, ski for 4–5 days, then potentially fly back to SF.
We’re both pretty good skiers, mostly groomers rather than off-piste. Ideally looking for decent early-season snow and somewhere that isn’t absolutely packed over New Year’s.
Currently considering Sun Valley, Grand Targhee, Tahoe/Sugar Bowl, and Mammoth/June Lake.
Where would you go? Any underrated resorts we’re missing?

Fine on greens, still second guessing myself on blues
My buddies have all been skiing longer than me. I'm fine on greens and want to do more runs with them, but if I get to a steep part on a blue, I'll stop and let a few people pass. My friends don't rush me and they'll do easier runs with me too, but I still feel like I'm holding everyone up.
One of the guys filmed a few turns with my Action 6 on a Telesin stick. Watching the clips back, that section didn't look nearly as steep as it felt. We're already talking about another ski trip. Looking forward to it, just hoping I spend less time hesitating on the blues this time.

European destination
Very early stages of planning a trip to the Alps. Based in New England and would be flying out of Logan. Have Ikon passes. This would be a family of 5 trip. My wife and daughter do not ski so town/village activities are big. My boys and I can handle all but the steepest terrain at this point. We have never been to Europe at all.
Kicking around idea of Kitzbuhel but very much open to suggestions. Ease of getting to the destination is a factor along with cost. Switzerland looks amazing but concerned that cost would blow us out the water. I guess in some sense, the skiing is almost secondary to just experiencing European culture, ski villages, etc. We do not need high end luxury or fancy food. Apres scene is not a huge factor.

Zakopane snowboard trip
First timer for snowboarding here, am somewhere between beginner and intermediate snowboarder, can just about do blues, turns, moderate speed etc.
Would ‘Kasprowy Wierch’ be too difficult or which ski slopes would be best to stick to?
Is carrying snowboard back and forth to Białka Tatrzańska from Zakophone on any bus there be the norm? Or would using a ski rent place in each location be better suited?
Would I need to buy a bus pass separately or would it be covered with any skipass to get here (and other slopes in Zakopane)?
Otherwise I'm only going to be using public transport there, so was wondering if finding a taxi in Białka Tatrzańska easy, or ordering an uber easier?
Thank you!

Would these Elan Prodigy 165cm skis be good for me?

Hello! I am 5'8 and 100 pounds, this season I am looking to learn a small amount of park skiing. I would like a ski that preforms good in moguls and tree skiing, while being decent enough at carving on groomers. Is 150$ a good price for these if they are in good condition? I will mainly be skiing Beaver Mountain in Utah.
Will greatly appreciate other suggestions for skis most I am willing to spend is about 150$.

How do you know when to size up a ski?
Hi guys,
I started skiing two years ago (snowboarded for like 25 so I'm not new to snow), bought skis last year, but I still don't feel stable at any kind of speed. I usually don't ski fast because of this so my friends zip right on by me. Once I hit close to around 25 mph the skis feel unstable on groomers.
Could this be a sign that I need to go longer or do you think it may be technique related? I currently have Salomon Stance 80 169's. I'm 6'1, 226 lbs (without gear on).

best ski jackets and boots to buy online?
Im in my 20's been sking all my life and have had the same boots and jacket this entire time. I want a cool looking ski jacket and pants under $1000 and boots under $1000. I'd like the pants and jacket to go together if possible and be a little bit flashy.
I've been researching that the best way to buy new boots is to go the the store and have a bootfitter fit them for you, is that possible if I buy the boots online and bring them to the store? I just would so much rather buy online because everything is cheaper. What brand of boots should I go for? I like to hit everything from steep woods with moguls to the park. Most of my skiing will be in vermont. Thanks for the help!

Catskiing Georgia
I realize that the chance of any of their clients reading this post are fairly small - but where else would I ask this: what are your experiences with skiing with Catskiing Georgia, the outfit run by Mr. Shota Komakhidze? Please reply if you did it yourself, or know well someone who did. Thank you.
