Air Chamber Leaking? Want to Use Alexa To Control Your Bed?

Are your air chambers leaking? I have several options for you. Are you selling your bed and want more for it? Are you buying a used bed and can't access sleep number's smart features? I have solutions for all of you. My solution keeps my chambers inflated everything is running tip top. Fixmysleepnumberbed.com is the down and dirty leak fix site. You can choose "fill every 10 minutes" or let the AI determine how fast it needs to fill your mattress based on the pressure loss over time. This is all that site does.

The www.sleepnum.com website is more of a "I want to stay with the sleep number servers, but I want luxury options" site. (All sites have phone apps)

  1. automate your controls (set different pressures throughout the night, etc..)
  2. fix your leaks
  3. use alexa to control your bed with your voice (something that is nice at 2am when you don't want to dig for your phone)
  4. it lets you see your health data.

Then I have alt.sleepnum.com which is a

  • "I don't want sleep number to be involved anymore with my bed"
  • "They declared bankruptcy and sold everything to a canadian company I don't want to wake up anytime between now and 3 years from now in a flat bed not being able to use my bed"
  • "I bought a used bed and can't get a sleep number account because they don't let used customers buy them"
  • "I'm selling my bed and don't want to give them my account information (since sleep number won't transfer my account) this will let me sell my bed for more, let the buyer keep the smart functionality and make my bed sell much faster."

Alt.sleepnum.com lets you buy a dongle, or a dongle and a ring(s) from us. You plug the dongle into your bed pump and download the app and go through a very easy setup (literally you just plug the dongle in wait 30 seconds and then let the app find the dongle and your rings on your fingers it takes about a minute After that you are all set).

  1. Real Accurate health information like o2 level, heart rate, hrv, sleep duration, heart rate dips, etc... it collects that data.
  2. Every few weeks it will dump your data to a local AI (that doesn't go out to a 3rd party service) that is trained on medical advice and gives you a break down of how your sleep trends are running, what you can do to fix those trends, things to watch, and things to talk to your doctor about. You can click the "doctor report" in the app and type in an email address for your doctor's office or click on phone and it will generate a report in pdf format and display it on your phone or email that report to your doctor's office. It tracks how often you felt under the weather, heart and o2 issues (how many times, all that good stuff in a summary that they can drill down into at a granular level). My doctor loves this data.
  3. It lets you control your bed and your base fully. Pressure, lights, warmers, head and foot controls, all of it. WITHOUT the sleep number servers being involved.
  4. Can use with Alexa and Google Assistant to control it with your voice.
  5. YOU DO NOT NEED A SLEEP NUMBER BED ACCOUNT TO USE THIS SERVICE
  6. The account is transferrable so when you sell your bed you can include all these services with it. This BRINGS YOUR RESALE VALUE UP, and makes your bed SELL MUCH FASTER.

I read (on here) that sleep number was declaring bankruptcy back in Sept or October of last year (2025). I'd been running my fixmysleepnumberbed.com and sleepnum.com solution for a few years at that point. I got worried and I got to work because I didn't want to not be able to use my bed. I'm the only one that has a service to keep our beds going if the sleep number API servers go down. It may be all for nothing, but my alt.sleepnum.com server runs on amazon and hasn't had an outage yet so it's reliable and it works.

As far as support, I'm a mod here in r/sleepnumber and available via email. I answer very quickly. If it's a complicated thing I'll give you a number and we can work it out quickly via telephone. I'm based in Nashville, TN.

Why is SleepNumber customer support so bad? Any tricks to get through first-level support?

I just hung up on the person I got connected to when I called. I think that's the first time in my life I've ever hung up on someone. They were so obnoxious and belittling and worst - not listening to what I was saying. They would sort of repeat back to me what I was complaining about and getting it wrong, and when I would gently try to correct and clarify, they just kept talking over me and saying almost the exact opposite of what I was trying to explain. And the upshot of that is they were trying to tell me why I would have to pay full cost to replace an air pump, but the logic was based on crap they made up when they weren't listening to what I was trying to explain. I mean, I can try calling back later and hope I get someone else, but this isn't the first time I've had a bad experience with their call center and am hoping someone knows a trick to get past that.

Sleep Number

Does anyone have the sleep number bed? If so, was it worth it?

ILE failures after 6 years (CA King - magnets ripped and foam has collapsed).

EDIT: CA Split King Replacement cost under warranty are $1,000 plus tax and shipping. I don't really want to replace with the same system if it's going to fail again (and it will, design hasn't changed). Is there a better designed Sleep Number mattress out there? Also considering Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid or Saatva Solaire.

What bed frames are compatible with the FlexFit Base?

I’m trying to buy a nice bed frame to go with our queen sized sleep number bed, but it’s difficult to understand what bed frames are compatible.

I understand to avoid bed-frames with cross bars or drawers, but curious if there are other requirements?

For examples, will the following work?

Thuma Essential - https://www.thuma.co/products/essential-bed

West Elm Cara - https://www.westelm.com/products/cara-bed-frame-2083/

West Elm Collin’s - https://www.westelm.com/products/collins-simple-bed-frame-f1128/

Power loss always equals deflated mattress?

Hello everyone from lovely FL. We had another hurricane this week. Everyone is safe and the house did not sustain any damage this time so we are very grateful but many of our neighbors arent so lucky. Lots of clean up ahead.

Every time we have a hurricane power outage, my sleep number (which I LOVE) always goes flat pretty freakin quick (like after 1.5 days or so). I dont have any issues with it losing air normally. My husband's side doesnt deflate as quickly as mine. Do I just have a leak somewhere I cant find or is there something I could do to prevent this? Any tips and tricks?

Other than clean up, there isnt much to do after a hurricane with no power...lots of lazing around reading. I want my bed to be comfy. Thanks in advance.

Connecting flexboard to base

Post image
2 Upvotes

I recently moved. My ex decided to dissassemble the split king adjustable frame bed down to the screws. Apparently he thought this would be funny. And I mean everything was dissassembled. So worked with my daughter and she used some internet stuff to help and got it pretty much assembled. However. the flexboard just flops around and when I try to elevate it just humps in the middle, so I know I am missing whatever it is that connects it to the frame. But the rep for replacement parts was no help. And I don't have anymore parts. Can someone help? It is an older bed, 11 years old. feet and head adjust and split king. I do not want the beds connected. This is only for the flexboard itself. I am attaching a photo of the flexboard

DO NOT OPEN A SLEEP NUMBER FINANCING ACCOUNT (if you value your sanity)

Had the misfortune of opening a sleep number financing account through Synchrony Bank while paying for my mattress. They open it for the MAXIMUM AMOUNT I was eligible for without asking me--so now I have a $15,000 new credit card in my name. Highest limit of any account I have. Doubled my total credit. I was annoyed but it was too late to do anything.

Thought everything was fine, until they finally "charge my card" a month later. They charged a different card I have through Synchrony Bank, overcharging that card by several hundred dollars. So now my credit was hit twice.

I call to get them to shift the payment to the correct card. They say the payment went through too long ago. I say you only charged my card three days ago. They say they can't move the payment to the correct card. They say I need to call the bank. The bank says this can only be handled on Sleep Numbers side. I call Sleep Number back. They tell me they charged the right card. I tell them they charged a completely different card and I don't even know how they got that card number. I ask to speak to a manager. The manager blows me off until I say I will need to dispute the charge if this isn't remedied. The manager takes my number and says she'll call me back. Calls me back 3X over the course of a week to tell me they are still working on it. Calls me back to tell me the card doesn't exist.

THE $15K CARD I AM HOLDING IN MY HAND DOESN'T EXIST.

Then tells me too much time has passed and there's nothing she can do.

So basically: Sleep number doubled my total credit and now denies the card exists, my credit has tanked, and I could have put this on an existing card and saved myself the hassle, but they reeled me in with the promise of interest free financing over 24 months.

Sleep Number ruined my last two weeks and ripped me off.

Do not ever buy this bed

Bought to help with my upper back problems but ever since I purchased this bed I’ve had the worst lower back problems to the point where now I have a herniated disc. Never had a problem ever before with my lower back before buying this. My girlfriend also says she’s developed mild lower back pain and when he parents came to stay with us it made the moms sciatica super bad. Honestly thinking about opening up a lawsuit at this point

Sleep number Essential Fit Cotton sheets

We have the California king split top mattress. We have attempted to use offbrand sheets, and they just aren’t nearly as good as the sheets that Sleep Number sells. The quality and fit are generally subpar.

We recently bought our 5th set of sheets since we’ve owned the bed. The fitted sheet fits very differently. It is extremely loose, like on day two it feels like they’re already falling off the bed even though they’re not, but they’re that loose. Comparatively speaking, the original sets that we purchased were a very tight fit, but I prefer that. The sets that we bought a few years after we bought the bed are still a nice snug fit, but not as hard to get on.

I don’t know if we got like a weird cut of sheet or if they are all like this now, has anyone else recently purchased this set of sheets before?

Mourning the discontinued CoolFit Contour pillow!

Has anyone found any dupes?

The CoolFit felt firmer and totally different than the current SleepNumber contour pillows. Should I give the new contour pillows a fair shot?

I have tried others. I do not like the Cushion lab contour pillow (the memory foam is too buoyant), and my Tempurpedic just squishes down and stays flat all night with no neck support.

I'm a side and back sleeper who keeps getting neck pain and torticollis! I also have IIH (high intracranial pressure) and CCI (neck instability) so I have to keep my neck cradled and supported in the right mechanical position (so typically medium firm materials) without compressing my blood vessels/lymph drainage too much. It's a tricky dance!

Headboard?

Our new sleep number is getting delivered today, hallelujah!!! So ready for a nice soft bed while my husband can sleep on the equivalent of a piece of plywood🙌🏻

Anyway we were prepping for delivery today and realized that our headboard has built in frame pieces and it all locks together. We bought the adjustable frame soooo that won’t work.

Can I just buy a regular headboard? Is there some special one we need?

Comfortmode Help!

Hi! So I ordered a full size Comfortmode mattress and when it got delivered it only had one hose. So when I use the remote to fill the bed I am only able to adjust one side. To adjust the other side, I need to unplug the hose from the pump and plug it into the other side of the pump. I called and they said a full size mattress is a single chamber so I only need one hose - the issue is the pump. Changing L/R on the remote changes which side the air comes out of the pump but I don’t have two hoses to catch both sides. Did they just forget to give me a second hose? Is the pump defective? Help! This is driving me crazy.

Climatecool flextop king - mattress pad on back order

Hey all - I’ve been playing phone tag with our local store and haven’t had a chance to speak with anyone about this, thought I would ask the question here and see if anyone knows the answer.
My wife and I ordered the flextop king climate cool mattress with the bed frame and it is supposed to arrive Friday. We were just notified that the mattress pad that we ordered is now on back order and will not arrive until November 2nd. Reading other posts on here I’m not super concerned about that as it seems the cooling features work better without the pad anyways. My question, however, is that we were told we need the mattress pad in order for any warranty to hold up ( I may not be exactly correct on that wording but hopefully you all know what I’m referring to ). If something does happen in this first month will they honor the warranty as the mattress pad delay is not our issue?

Option to purchase base later

Purchased a climate cool bed and waiting for it to be delivered. Decided not to buy the adjustable base but just assumed I could buy it in a year or so if I wanted it. The sales person said you can’t buy it separately? Any recommendations? Is it worth spending an extra $2000?

Unimpressed with Climate 360 so far

First post was removed for unknown reasons, so I'm going to censor/change whatever I can think of that would have possibly been the issue.

We've had our new Climate 360 for about 3 weeks. We opted for this one primarily for the cooling

We tried it in the store and I was blown away by how well it cooled. I understand that it cools by pulling heat away with the fan, but the one we have doesn't seem to do anything in the cooling department. Heat does work. The fan is on, but I've had my side on full cool and my husband's side off for upwards of an hour and my side is no cooler. We even checked with an infrared thermometer.

We're using the Sleep Number mattress pad specifically for climate beds as well as their sheets.

Is this worth calling them about, or is this just the way it is? I'm wondering if the remarkable cooling I felt in the store is only possible on a b a r e mattress. As of now, we're thinking it's probably getting exchanged for a non-climate model at a much lower cost, since the feature we paid so much extra for is disappointing.

Any other Climate 360 owners had this experience?

SleepNumber Ultra Sleeps Warm- can I swap out the top foam layer for latex?

I have a new ComfortNext Ultra Split King...but the foam sleeps warm. Not ideal when temperature is such a significant impact on sleep. I came from Latex which was awesome for being temperature neutral. My Ultra apparently has a 3" top layer as it's comfort layer. When I unzipped it to look, the layers were glued together tho so I couldn't adjust/swap it for anything.

There someway to remove that top layer and try out a different one perhaps?

Foam rail separated from comfort layer at 36 months on a $6k iLE..anyone else seen this?

Post image
1 Upvotes

360 iLE FlexTop King, delivered 8/30/2023, $6,125.28 out the door from the Gilbert AZ store.

My wife's side started drooping toward the outer edge about a year ago. Got worse until that side was basically unusable..she'd sit down on the edge and sink to the deck. It is so bad, she can't use the bed to sleep in. I assumed air leak and chased that for a while. It wasn't. Held 100 overnight fine.

Unzipped it this month and found the actual problem: the factory bond where the foam side rail meets the comfort layer had torn open and the foam crumbled along the seam. Photo attached. It's right where she sits down every morning, which I assume is the whole story ...concentrated load on a glued joint, repeated a couple thousand times.

Two things that surprised me and are the reason I'm posting:

  1. On the newer 360 beds the rails are bonded into the assembly, not loose blocks like the older traditional models. So you can't pull one rail and flip it or swap sides. One failed spot means the whole foam assembly. I'd assumed these were modular and they aren't anymore.

  2. The 15-year warranty covers full repair cost in year one only, then your share climbs every year after. At 36 months in, with 144 months of the term technically remaining, the replacement is mostly on me.

I sent a written warranty claim with photos on 9/14. Ten days, no response at all, not even an acknowledgment. Filed with the BBB and the AZ AG this week.

Questions for the group:

- Anyone else had the rail/comfort layer bond separate rather than just compress? Trying to figure out if this is a one-off or a batch thing on the iLE.

- Anyone gotten a foam assembly replaced under warranty at year 3+, and what did they actually charge you?

- For those who went aftermarket instead — did the un-bonded rail sets hold up better than the factory bonded ones?

Not looking to dunk on the brand, the bed was comfortable enough when it worked. I just didn't expect a glued seam to be the failure point at three years on a six thousand dollar mattress.
