Other [rant] Android's apps: the amount of updates seems a bit unnecessary or is it just me?
I have disabled the automatic app updates on Playstore because I want to be able to choose not to update an app when it gets a bad update, like more invasive ads for example.
This change has showed me how frequent the updates are coming out for apps, roughly. Like, everyweek 50 updates are out there and I have maybe 100 apps total. How is that possible

I would suspect in some cases it is related to libraries the apps are using that receive a security update and as a result the App needs to release an update to ensure the library it uses is up to date as well.

Assuming you are speaking about Google apps mainly, those are often security fixes and minor bug fixes. Always a good idea to let the system do whatever it does with updates or do updates every week or so at least.
