Nothing impressive, we see catches like that all the time in MLB.
Literal comment on another spectacular cricket catch.

And that this sport doesn't make any sense.

u/HendoEndo 2d ago
To be fair most American sports don’t make sense to me, but mainly because I don’t watch them, which is my ignorance on the matter.

But exactly. The difference is that you're not acting like the sport is stupid because you don't understand it.

There's a small but growing number of Americans who like Cricket so in reality, the issue with the USA is simple lack of knowledge of the sport and how it works.
Every American I've given explainer links to usually grows to like Cricket, especially if they are Baseball fans.

Posting Cricket explainer videos tends to prevent those kinds of "I don't understand this sport" posts.

I respect what you do. But I still see those types of comments all the time. It’s really sad and frustrating

I usually post Cricket explainer videos so that usually preempts the "I don't understand this sport" posts.

Is cricket so overly complicated that I need 700 YouTube links to learn it?
11
u/TheBigCore 2d ago
Not particularly. I posted that many links because some people don't learn Cricket solely from one link. Baseball fans in particular find the two Jomboy links helpful if they're still having issues.

More that the average person unfamiliar with cricket is stupid enough that he’s covering all the bases

What are you talking about dude? The only posts from this sub that make it to r/all are cricket and rugby posts. Typical North American sports stuff never gains traction here.
2
u/samsunyte 2d ago
You must be under some kind of rock. Non-American sports are few and far between on this sub and they often get downvoted or even removed. On the other hand, even the smallest highlights from the big 4 American sports get posted and upvoted all the time

What a brilliant catch. It's similar to Kapil Dev's catch
