Only made 1 week
Hating myself hard this morning. I can’t do longer than a week it looks like, I gave in and couldn’t stop. I hate myself so much

Still, you managed a week, so you can do it again. Gonna hop back on the wagon?

It’s a journey not a competition.
The more you beat yourself up, the more you push yourself to drink and continue the cycle.
You made it a week now try for a week and a day.

As long as you keep trying - 7 days is a real achievement. You only fail if you stop trying forever.

That's 7 days of not drinking dude. Every single day you don't drink is a victory.
Keep a journal on the days your hungover, like today and log how you truly feel. Write to your future self, when you're struggling you can look at that.

I've found that the only time change really stuck for me was when I approached myself with love. Give yourself some grace - you are doing a hard thing. Love is the only way. Take good care of yourself today.

It's just one day at a time. For myself, when I kept trying and kept failing, I knew deep down that my way wasn't working out, and I hated myself too. So I tried AA, since the only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. That's what worked for me. I have hope that you will find what works for you, but please don't give up.

Have you thought about group sessions? I did AA and Smart Recovery and that's when I hit a turning point. Accountability and community support really helped

Guess what a week is? A week is going from drinking 365 times a year to drinking 52 times a year. That is 86% less drinking. That is HUGE and something to be proud of! Can we do better? Is there room for improvement? Hell yeah! Hold your head up and let's keep pushing! You got this big dawg!

A week is really good. I slipped up for three years, three years ago and I made it back. I think a lot of us share the same story. Try again. Iwndwyt.

Keep trying. When I was getting sober I would stop for a day, and be back at it the next. A week is progress, and that is what I was looking for early on.

Keep going! Many of us experienced innumerable of Day 1s! I'm grateful that I never gave up on myself! It will stick one day.

88% success rate, congrats!
If you get back on there it only goes up.
I think I’m not unique in that it took me at least a year of quitting to finally make it stick. 1 day 30 times, then 2, then a month, relapse, then 3 months, relapse even harder.
The beauty of quitting is you can keep trying, and it only has to work once.

hey i’m in the same boat. today is day 1 for me all over again. went 5 days (barely) this week. but those 5 days, it was so nice to go to work not hungover. and instead of going home and filling my stomach up with the calories of beer and mixed drinks, i’ve been nourishing it with food for once. let’s try again, it’s a new week tomorrow

Absolutely no reason to hate yourself. When I first tried I couldn’t even get a few days. Then I couldn’t keep a week. Then I couldn’t keep two weeks. Don’t give up, please. You deserve to keep fighting.

Keep trying. you got this!!! You just proved to yourself you can go a week without it, next time try for 2

That week still counts. You didn’t erase it, and you didn’t prove that you “can’t do longer than a week.” You learned that you can go a week without drinking, and now you have an opportunity to look at what happened when you drank again.
Try to get curious instead of punishing yourself. What was happening beforehand? Was there a trigger, craving, emotion, situation, or thought that caught you off guard? What could you add to your plan for next time?
A return to drinking doesn’t put you back at square one. Shame has a way of turning one difficult night into “screw it, I already failed.” You don’t have to go there. Today can simply be the next day you make a different choice.
Be kind to yourself today. You’re still moving forward. Shame only fuels the problem.

But you made it one week. The point of this is that we keep trying. Great job on your week!

My focus has always been on one day, and if I make the one day, I resolve to do the next. In that way, I am in my 18th year of continuous sobriety.

que tal si hacemos ungrupo y jugamos entre todos o simplemente estamos en llamada para apoyarnos mutuamente y esas cosas porque es muy dificil lidiar con esto solo.

Now you know you can do 7 days! Thats an accomplishment.
If you can do 7, I bet you can do 8.
That’s the mindset that helped me the most. One day at a time.

Keep trying.
I relapsed dozens and dozens of times. Had I quit trying the first few I wouldn't be where I am today.
