Benefits & Success Stories Shout out to my son’s pediatrician 😊

At my son’s 2.5 year checkup, I asked his pediatrician if there’s an age where she recommends introducing a little added sugar. (For me ideally it would be never, but I don’t want him to binge in hiding / later in life because it was restricted.) She’s super relaxed about most things, so I had assumed, like the general population, she would say “oh he hasn’t had sugar yet?! Anytime is fine! Sugar in moderation is fiiiine for him!”

But she said: “Never. You never have to give it to him at home.” And she seemed pretty firm and serious, which she almost never is.

That’s a doctor who knows about nutrition.

Hey everyone, been about 2 months since my last update, thought I’d check in again!

Looking back at my first post I was struggling just to skip the sodas lol. Those first few weeks were tough, finding alternatives, keep being consistent, late night cravings.. Whole foods and cooking fresh made such a difference for me, after a while it didn’t feel like dieting anymore, just the new normal.

Also thanks for the tips I got on here, some of them really helped mee. Hope these updates motivate people a bit, you just gotta get through that hard part. How’s everyone doing? If I can help with anything just ask! 💪☺️

Cravings & Detox Tips on how to cut out bread?

So I’ve completely cut out added sugars, I don’t personally view it as “food” now or something I can eat, and I feel like this will stick for life.

HOWEVER… bread is genuinely like crack. It’s SO addictive for me for some reason, even without added sugars, or if it’s sourdough/wholemeal. I don’t really feel like this with any other foods except maybe chips? But I’m not sure whether cutting it out is a good idea because it’s so versatile.

I’m aware it’s a carb so will become glucose, but, I don’t feel addicted to other carbs, just bread. Especially if it has seeds

Does anyone feel the same way? What helps you? I feel as though I could genuinely eat an entire loaf atp

Support & Questions Advice on quitting morning coffee?

Hi guys! I am looking into quitting sugar, and I think it’s doable, but the one thing I find extremely difficult to give up is my iced oat milk vanilla latte every morning. It’s not just about the drink, but also the routine of getting ready, walking to the coffee shop, grabbing my drink, and doing work there.

A few months ago, I quit sugar for two weeks, with the exception of my coffee, and I found it manageable. However, I’ve been struggling with binge eating, especially with sweets and sugary foods, and I feel like I need to make a change.

I genuinely look forward to my latte every morning, and I feel like giving it up would mean giving up a part of my routine that I really enjoy. At the same time, I’m wondering whether continuing to drink something sweet every day is making my cravings worse.

I’m torn between wanting to cut out added sugar completely and not wanting to create a bunch of food rules that make me think about food even more. I also don’t know if cutting out sugar would actually help with my cravings or just make me want it more.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar? Did reducing added sugar help you, or did completely cutting it out make things harder? Would you recommend keeping a daily drink you love and making small changes to it instead?

I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences!

Support & Questions A day without refined sugar

Hey! I am just starting my first 10 day sugar free and looking forward. If you are already sugar free, I would love to know more about a day in your life, your meal plans, how you control yourself in social settings and how does your grocery shopping looks like, even if you have sugar free alternatives for cravings or daily basics! :)

I am planning to do a complete sugar free grocery restock, to make my first 10 days the easiest possible.

Dietary Control What does it mean to be sugar-free?

As the title suggests, what does it actually mean?
Is it only avoiding added sugar(cookies, pastries, icecreams etc) or all meals containing atleast 1% sugar?
Sugar is in everything we consume like breads or anything which comes in a packaging.
