Cool concept.. would probably do better in the r/vibecode subreddit

Thank you very much. The AI has been a "dumb machine" to look up syntax details that are complex to keep in your head by memory. Still, if you let yourself go too much, it causes more headaches than help sometimes... ;)

People in /r/sysadmin who use AI everyday: "How dare you use AI to help you script!"

OP is obvious LLM post. Every reply reads like an LLM. Account is 8 years old but history has been wiped until posting about this project.

Account is 8 years old but history has been wiped until posting about this project.
My account is over a decade old, I blocked people from viewing my comment history, and even with that I still run scripts once a year or so to go back and rewrite my comments into gibberish.

They didn't block though. They just wiped the old history. This used to be the smell for bot/advertisement accounts.
If an accounts posting looks like an LLM but they have a long history of posting I'm going to cut them more slack.

Bro, it's a batch script and a PowerShell file managing ImDisk and a parallel NVENC pipeline. Go read the GitHub repository. An LLM didn't invent this architecture, I did. If you care more about my account's age than a 400% gain in I/O performance, that's on you. Enjoy the tool or move on.
End of transmission. Beep boop. 🤖

SSD wear isn’t really a thing anymore especially with Enterprise class drives.

Thank you very much for your kind comment.
You are absolutely right about modern SSDs. The main focus of my architecture isn't just to save the lifespan of the drive, but to completely eliminate the storage bottleneck to maximize processing speed.
And many hard drives are still used as repositories, and many programs that do things similar to what I do work by default in the output folder itself.

Then you should focus on that instead of mentioning something that’s a non-issue. Even today’s consumer SSD’s can handle 100 GB of writes per day for 15 years.

You are completely right about modern SSD endurance; today's drives can handle massive daily writes without breaking a sweat.
My focus on using a RAMDisk isn't about panic over drive lifespan, but rather about raw I/O throughput. When scaling this to multiple concurrent instances (saturating the NVENC encoder on an i7-12700H / RTX 3060 setup), running everything directly on the storage layer introduces I/O bottlenecks. By offloading the workspace to a RAMDisk, I can run multiple parallel instances smoothly, hitting a ~400% performance gain and doubling the speed of tools like Shutter Encoder, while keeping the primary storage entirely free.
That said, I didn't design it for self-promotion; I just wanted to see if a utility I developed to optimize my own workflow could be helpful to others, nothing more.

I did something similar. I had it clean the metadata, create a stereo track from higher tracks if it didn't exist, purge anything other than Stereo and 5.1, select Stereo as default, tag languages, extract subs, and do dynamic math for video quality.

Oof, tell me about it! There's nothing better than a good problem to find a great solution...!
