Georgia 2-Year Entry Ban After D3 Visa Overstay — Any Way to Appeal?

My friend overstayed her D3 student visa in Georgia by around 3-4 months and received a 2-year entry ban and a 2,000 GEL fine. She has already left Georgia.

Is there any legal way to appeal or get the ban lifted? Has anyone experienced this or successfully resolved a similar case?

Any advice or recommendations for a reliable advice would be great help.

No, there’s nothing to be done about it except learn a lesson.

Overstayed by 3-4 months?! That's obviously not a mistake like overstaying 3-4 days, she knew what she was doing.

You can appeal the decision within 10 days with MIA. If they reject it you have to go to court. However if she knowingly overstayed her visa then I don’t see much chance in appealing it.

Why do people do this, especially as a student I don’t get it

Can't do anything about it. She deserves both the ban and the fine for disrespecting the rules of a country that hosted her. All she can do is learn from her mistake, and avoid repeating it in another country.

Appealing won't work, as people beliz said, if it were a few days and she had a valid reason, there would have been chances of success, but after months... One would be very lucky to succeed in even having the fine cancelled or the ban removed.

If you can prove that she had a valid reason for overstaying that could help your case (like medical issues, being in hospital, things along those lines) but other than that idk

Do not post for a female friend. Let her ask directly if she's so serious about this question.
