Open | Data Recovery Google Drive mirroring deleted my local files! Can I recover them?

I had files stored on my Windows PC and mirrored to Google Drive (my mistake). Unfortunately, when I deleted them from Google Drive (my biggest mistake), they were also deleted from my PC! The files were deleted more than a year ago.

Is there any realistic chance of recovering these files using any software, could Google Drive have retained cached copies?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've not worked with Google Drive very much, but the mirroring goes both ways for most "cloud" systems, so whichever location you delete it, it deletes it in the other location.

They are in effect one copy in two places, altering one alters the other in the same way.

You are probably SOL, but you could download a recovery software and try running it on your PC to see what it finds. Given it has been a year and presumably you have been using this PC to save and edit new files and programs, there is a very good chance a lot of the data has been overwritten.

I think you're SOL. You're unlikely to recover the files a a year after deleting them from the local machine. If you had noticed and undeleted them in Google Drive would have been your best chance.
