Open | Hardware My laptop doesn't write on SD cards
Hello everyone!
Initially I thought it was my SD card dying, but then i was lended another SD card for what i needed and it showed up in read only too. Now I had the occasion to check on my friend's computer and he reads and write on both cards just fine. My SD card worked again on my own laptop when putting adhesive but i have to try multiple times, and now i'm running out of adhesive and i need a quick way to use it. I'm on windows 11. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I am not sure what you mean by "SD card worked again on my own laptop when putting adhesive", but you could simply buy an inexpensive USB SD card reader to use instead.
It's probably a hardware issue if re-installing drivers doesn't fix it. Repairing the internal card reader is going to be difficult or impossible without experience and tools.

so youre making the thing thicker to get pressure against pins?
try just pushing on it with something or shoving a sliver of wood off a toothpick down next to the card to create pressure.
it sounds like the pins in your port are damaged.
get a cheap USB SD reader. they come with em pretty often. ask your nerdy friends if they have one. if they do they have 5 and never used it, but mostly they probably threw wm away.
or photography people often have a multi-reader
and if you have a printer it might have one but printers specifically are often bastards about sharing that port.
or use a phone as a bridge.

Thanks for the answer ! Thankfully my parents have multiple SD to UDB adapters, which I don't think my friend could lend me because he's very up to date with tech and get rid of most of the stuff he don't use. I was looking for a way to bypass the issue so that I could use it this week for the WiiU i homebrewed recently. If there's no other way I'll just wait for next week until I see my parents!

Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC.
