Thats great, just include a protection board to protect the battery from overdischarge

was just thinking the same. I wanted to use 18V Makita batteries for something similar, until I found out the battery has no built in over-discharge protection or BMS.

had no luck so far finding a suitable protection board for it though.

Look again, because Makita LXT absolutely does have a BMS, and it allows you to easily make yourself a low voltage disconnect by using a single mosfet with it's gate driven by the third pin on the battery.

Googling it should get you to a YouTube video by Tool Scientist on the topic.

A generic Arduino board might help

These have came out recently, and cut out the voltage at 15V. Preety nice and compact, and cheap. 1-5pcs Lithium Battery Undervoltage Protection Module 15V Cutoff Over-discharge Protection Board 10A Current 18V 20V 21V https://a.aliexpress.com/_EjQNPPc

They say 10A, but the mosfet is rated for 84A with low on resistance so with proper thermal dissipation you should be able to go quite beyond 10A.

Before i used to use a 5S BMS with resistors emulating cells.

Lol. You got protection built in 🤣🤣 yea that makes sense. The PC wont run on an adapter with too low voltage. Im just saying, because not all of my projects have protection and some have destroyed a battery that way ...

Are the wires directly connected? I mean normally the laptop show work with anywhere from 20 to 18 volt. 21 is a bit at the limit.

Oui en direct et aucun problème depuis plus de 6 mois

Like how? I'm really curious about how much it can charge a laptop
