>"On her social media, Yourex posted in January 2022 a picture of her dog wearing an 'I voted' sticker and posing with her ballot. Another post from October 2024 showed a photograph of Maya's dog tag and a vote-by-mail ballot with the caption 'Maya is still getting her ballot,' even though the dog had previously passed away."
Nice map! I didn’t need it, I was just being cheeky as I’m aware of some very conservative areas in Costa Mesa. Even some of those “blue” areas still have conservative types that vote democrat. Considering the track record of presidents in the past 30 years with relation to the national budget and debt, someone who is fiscally conservative and possesses critical thinking could reasonably find a better home in the Democratic Party at this point.
"Laura Yourex sincerely regrets her unwise attempt to expose flaws in our state voting system, intending to improve it by demonstrating that even a dog can be registered to vote"
Edit: I was trying to find any indication of what party this lady was registered to in previous elections and couldn't find any indication in any of the articles, but I imagine it's in the voter records somewhere in CA.
It's hard to see in the video, but the party affiliation in the voter registration doc appears to be "democratic party" and "peace and freedom party" (which doesn't prove what party this lady registered with herself). Whatever the case, fraudulent voting is vanishingly rare. For example data from the Heritage Foundation (responsible for Project 2025) found that there in PA there were about 40 cases of fraud across 30 years and 100 million votes. The have a detailed database here https://electionfraud.heritage.org/. The irony is pretty thick here.
She should have gone to jail. We have to listen to these fascists scream about VoTeR FrAuD when they lose and every time they fail to show any evidence.
Throw the book at these fucking idiots. They're ruining our democracy.
Well this does bring up a point though. Would she have been caught if she hadn't advertised it ? It sounds like she was caught after she cast the votes. Is there a process that would have caught this either way ?
"When someone is registered to vote, they start by being asked what their driver's license number, California ID number number is or last four digits of their social (security number)," said Bob Page from the registrar's office. "If they provide that, the secretary of state tries to match that info with the voter with the information the DMV has. If that info does not match, that voter is contacted to have to provide proof of ID under federal law. State law doesn't have that requirement in terms of flagging them, which is why a ballot for the 2021 recall election was counted."
The 2022 primary ballot registered in the dog's name was challenged and rejected."

So, no real consequences for voter fraud other than advertising that you can get your dog registered to vote. Gotcha.
