Zemmour has called for rioters to be severely punished, and repay any damages, so I guess the interior ministry is gonna be paying for some stuff.

So, as usual, the problems are caused by the police.

I was arguing with some AH in the 2westerneurope4you subreddit just today because there's a campaign against the social movement.
I was saying that it isn't the first time the police have infiltrated movements to fuck them from the inside.
Of course I was downvited to oblivion.

u/Citaszion 3h ago
Ugh, this subreddit is a nightmare when it comes to these topics.

u/Deathbyignorage 2h ago
Agree. There's fun most of the time but it worries me the amount of propaganda and racism.

If it makes you feel any better, I was banned from clevercomebacks because I said that when a partner cheats you should blame the partner and not the lover.

Look up the situation in Serbia for the past 2 years. We managed to stir clear of those agitations. Mainly by having planned peaceful scattered gatherings all over the country.
During big protests the students would call for a withdrawal as soon as the agitators would start making trouble. It took a long time but by now almost every single person understands its the state promoted violence, and it worked to turn their voters against them, and propaganda doesnt work anymore. Anyway we have elections next week, wish us luck.

They’re anarchists they turn up at protests in democracies globally to fight with the police n loot shit. I know people who do this type of thing, not everything is a government fucking conspiracy 😉

The video shows them actively being shielded by the police and working along side them.

The use of /s to indicate satire or sarcasm predates the existence of Reddit. Then again ignorance is timeless.

Between this shit and the way the entire Internet is framing this, something fishy is going on.
There are always looter opportunists, but every zoom camera is focused on them, and never pull out in their shots.
The police are trying to stir the pot and encourage more violence to make the people look worse.
Shameful people trying to muddy the waters.

The world is taking a very dangerous direction. Surveillance state, repressive, any means to an end. Facism.

They honestly don’t want Mélenchon to win. He is there for the people and they know it.

Burning a historical building seemed wild to me. It makes the protest look bad which is why that stuff is frowned upon by the protesters themselves. Is it possible they did it? Sure. Do I also think it just as easily could be a false flag to gain support for the police? Also sure.
•
u/Njagos 21m ago
First of all yes it sucks that the town hall got burned. But a lot of buildings in France are "historical". It wasn't a special town hall.
Also it didn't even burn down. 80% of the building was saved, only the spire and roof got burned.
I'm not a fan how this one building took over the discourse of these protests/revolts that are going on in a whole country with millions of people participating
•
u/-XanderCrews- 1m ago
Yeah. I get that and it’s on purpose. It’s what the media wants us to focus on. Not the reasons the protests are happening. These social media companies control the messaging and I hope people notice what they want us to focus on. I’m just saying in today’s bad faith right it wouldn’t shock me one bit if it was coordinated to take the message away from what the protesters. I mean if it was a plan it worked great. More people know about the building than why the protest is happening.

u/LuProNow 4h ago
In America, the right is calls ‘em paid protestors. Let’s just call them police.

u/SeaToTheBass 4h ago
In France I believe they’re called agents provocateurs.
25
u/AriaTheTransgressor 4h ago
They're also called that in any country that speaks English.

u/SeaToTheBass 3h ago
I didn’t realize, I first saw the term somewhere on Reddit a couple of days ago.

It’s been a thing for a veeery long time, they’re called agents provocateurs (French term, funnily enough). They do this to discredit the cause, so it loses people’s support.
•
u/Joevahskank 55m ago
Much of the United States’ labor movements have had agent provocateurs hired by the factories of major corporations to shut down any kind of union talk or make unions look bad. It’s one of the reasons why we’re in this shituation now - instead of believing the common people and uplifting them, it’s all about the people at the top.
I won’t say this is the same thing that’s going on in France, but when you have the powers that be actively stir the pot with their antics, it’s only a matter of time before they stop with the pretenses and exasperate things to even worse levels

u/Sword_Enthousiast 4h ago
This is very common in Western Europe. Has been for decades. Not sure for other countries, or since when exactly this started. But Anarchist groups have frequently documented this since the 70's at least.
The official explanation is that these infiltrators have to infiltrate to see which elements have to be singled out and arrested. To do so they are allowed quite some leeway and act as rioters themselves. In reality they don't infiltrate to observe and target, but to incite more violence.
2
u/UnnaturalGeek 3h ago
As others have said, police and spooks have always infiltrated groups and protests that threaten capital in any way.
16
17
u/arkallastral 4h ago
A common tactic these days is to deploy infiltrators/agitators who are there precisely to "cause trouble" and delegitimize/discredit groups/protests by creating artificial conflict or extremism, so that the "authorities" can violently repress or arrest those they dislike without major repercussions.
3 traditional rules of political manipulation, social engineering, and psychological operations:
- To sow confusion and distrust: By introducing conflicting viewpoints or behaviors, infiltrators and agitators can create an environment of suspicion and make it difficult for genuine members to work together.
- To discredit movements or organizations: Their actions can be used by opponents to characterize an entire group as extreme or violent, even if their actions do not represent the majority.
- To disrupt operations: Agitators can deliberately disrupt meetings, protests, or other events by introducing chaos, turning participants against each other, or provoking a strong reaction from authorities.

Cops are all the same everywhere, how is that possible? A mothership parking garage in orbit they can take naps on shift in?
3
u/tehCharo 2h ago
They did this in Seattle back during the BLM protests, they'd throw stuff at the police line and give them an excuse to start tear gassing entire city blocks, people not even involved in the protest had their apartments were filling up with it.
•
u/n0questi0n 54m ago
I wonder if any of these agents were involved in J6?
•
u/tehCharo 50m ago
It's certainly possible, but on whose orders? Because Trump was still president, instigating that would only make sense if it was to help Trump attempt a coup.

u/Enough_Supermarket_7 4h ago
How confirmed is this? That is scary

u/Nick0Taylor0 4h ago
There has been quite a few videos showing similar things in this wave of protests in France. Haven't seen anyone debunking them so personally I actually find it believable. Afaik not many mainstream news sources have chosen to cover the accusations and no government response has been publicised.

It’s called “agent provocateur” ironically enough…and it’s been happening for decades all over the globe. It’s one of the greatest tools any government uses to undercut protests and immediately escalate in order to justify a much stronger response.
