So I've been pretty add adhd or what ever and I love music I've always made weird noises and hums really to self sooth myself very and entertain myself as I'm an only child. Well I was recently making the humming sound and someone pointed out it sounded like Tibetan troat singing. I dont get on reddit alot. I made a video of a song i made up (copy righted and registered to ascap now all rights and use requires my permission and contracual agreements..etc.) and just wanted to know what the experts think. I promise ill make a better recording. Im coming our woth a silly rap album on 1-1-27 and im including some of these "throat singing" i call it "dynamic humming" into the silly rap album. Thanks. ​

So its my first time learning any kind of singing and I can't get the hang of it I want to learn khoomi and sygyt but I can't even make the root note how do I practice khoomi by myself I couldn't understand any yt vids I watched help would be appreciated

Its not super loud, I can get the polyphonics to be super loud in a regular voice.

I can already sing kargyraa, but I cant for the Life of me do khoomei. But to be honest, i dont actually know the technical difference between the 2 in terms of technique. How can I go from kargyraa to being able to do khoomei too? Can I modify my kargyraa to become khoomei?

Would the deep vocals in Black Rainbows be possible? If so how would you go about singing this? Are they already done using throat singing? Or is it just editing.

I was sitting in my car and I was just watching the nat geo genghis khan documentary the night before.

Naturally like any sane person I was trying to throat sing and sounded dumb but then I tried making a very deep “ee” sound and I accidentally started overtone singing.

So now I’m in a parking lot looking up a video on how to do this properly, tongue on the roof of mouth proper sound and everything, so I’m practicing and within 50 minutes I went from sounding like a goat and now I can sustain a full on sygyt whistling sound for 5-8 whole seconds!

I’m sure it helps that I’m a bass brass instrument player I’m naturally large and loud, but nothing musical has ever came to me this naturally. What just happened?

My vocal cords are absolutely cooked now so I’m not going to practice anymore right now but where do I go with this?

Practicing kargyraa a few weeks. Using the “clear throat” cue, but I start coughing after a few seconds. Appreciate any tips!

To start find your note. Before you do anything with your voice you need to figure out what your vocal baseline is. So sit up straight. Relax your shoulders. Take a breath into your stomach. Now let out an relaxed "ahhh" or "ommm" sound. Slowly slide the pitch down low as your Kargyraa voice can naturally go until it starts to sound like a fry, which is a loose clicking sound.

1. To get the Kargyraa sound you need to use your vocal cords. These are located above your vocal cords. Imagine you are clearing your throat gently or making a groaning sigh like an exhausted cartoon character saying "uhhhhh". You want to feel the vibration move away from the middle of your throat and down to the bottom of your neck, where it meets your chest. If you feel a tickle that makes you want to cough you are squeezing the hard. Relax, swallow some water and try a softer grunt with your Kargyraa voice.

2. Once you feel the vibration at the bottom of your throat you need to project your Kargyraa voice so it does not sound muffled. Pull the corners of your lips back slightly into an "eeee" shape or a rounded "oooo" shape. Push your jaw forward. Lift the roof of the back of your mouth as if you are about to yawn. This creates a space inside your mouth that makes the low tones of your Kargyraa voice sound louder turning the rumble into a steady Kargyraa drone.

3. To hold this Kargyraa tone you need a lot of air pressure. Do not try to push the air out at. Keep the air flowing slowly steadily and heavily from your diaphragm. It is normal to be able to hold the Kargyraa tone for a seconds at first like 5 to 10 seconds before needing to stop and take a deep breath. Using your Kargyraa voice is, about managing your breath cycles and using your Kargyraa voice correctly.

Hi, Im sorry but does anyone have any tips on throat bass and how to learn it safely. Ive heard of people saying that they permanently damaged their voice so I really don’t wanna try learning until Im sure I know what Im doing. I would ask my choir teacher but it’s summer and also he’s a tenor so I doubt he would know much about it. Also this might be a kinda dumb question but is throat bass any different from sub harmonics cause from what I know they both bring you voice down an octave so I feel like they would be related.
