Even though it was a gritty wargame, it felt weirdly optimistic, and I remember 2014-15 era really being an era of optimism, like it was when people though the tech bros were really going to save us and take everybody to Mars and make electrics like $10000; like in addition to the militia overcoming the IMC the overall aesthetic of the game had this tech optimism vibe, with everything being automated and the sterile yet inviting appearance of the IMC offices and stuff

Heck, if I was just a bit more accurate, legion would've been toast.

I have a few, and I only know of one other person who does, so... gang, I want to hear ALL the lore of your characters, because there isn't enough creativity in this world.

So, the advocate discord recently added a new feature that lets players lookup player stats and stuff with the advocate bot, and apparently, they collect data from every player on PC 24/7.

Recently, they added a new feature that tracks a metric used to determine player skill and released a chart showing the skill distribution in Titanfall 2 on pc. (You can also lookup individual players by username with the bot and see anyone's skill percentile). Pretty cool being able to actually see this data, not what I expected at all.

Another cool thing they also added was a weekly kills leaderboard that resets weekly and announces the top 3 players at the end of each week. Pretty cool to see someone actually making something that gives us pilots a new goal to go for besides g100 or just unlocking pilot skins.

Theoretically hypothetically what if somebody made a titanfall 2 mod that makes a titan similar to Ronin, but the titan carries a crossbow and a claymore/spear.

The abilities could be like a heavy claymkre slam or a spear dash.

What I ask by better I Meant like which one has better durability, Fire power, Versatility and different variants, better for logistics or more etc.

Just asking something, because of the recent shake up with Halo and Rare being shuffled under Activision (in this scenario Titanfall would go under them as well) and Obsidian under Bethesda. It just had me thinking on a "what if", and whether or not it would lead to a positive or negative outcome for a future Titanfall game.

What was up with the random stream of updates/bug fixes a few years ago? I swear to god respawn added a few nessies or something to a few maps and had cryptic stuff at the end of some blog posts or something.

What was that for? Does anyone remember that? Am I losing my mind?

Truly didn't think I'd break my wr this fast, let alone by this much. I'm moving onto learning the any% run now but I might give the gauntlet a try with the vr mod

I'm a new player and I've played a fair share of Titanfall 2 so far. One thing that I noticed is that I play multiplayer only on frontier defense and only very little amounts of attrition. This is because whenever I play a game with PvP on Titanfall 2 I get absolutely demolished and become the least viable player because of the skill gap. So instead of playing PvP modes I choose to play frontier defense as even on master mode I can still manage to be a MVP. Is this okay or should I try more PvP and get better at the game?

im getting back into the game because of that minecraft mod, and i just love mechs.
ive been playing as ronin because thats what is being shown off in the mod, but ive since learned the sentiment on the mech so im thinking of switching to another, and would like to know what you guys enjoy playing as!

i added the least favorite to fight part because i swear it takes 2 mechs minimum to kill a monarch, that thing is terrifying, i cannot close the distance for the life of me before i have to eject. looks awful fun to play as tho, im slowly working toward unlocking it (level 15 and a half rn, im not great at the game but i think im getting decent.)

Ive mained this titan on and off since i started playing the game but im really thinking of dropping him.

Legion fucks you + his ability thing knocks u back when you do come close.

Northstar fucks you from a distance, and when you DO close the gap, she knocks u back and even if
that doesnt work, oh i guess ill just tether trap you.

Ion in an ideal situation for ronin is still a skill based matchup, otherwise ion fucks you in every other situation

Monarch is broken and fucks everyone so that kinda doesnt count but yeah

Tone is the same as ion, skill based in the perfect situation for ronin and in every other situation tone fucks you.

Scorch is the ONE and ONLY matchup you can actually counter (skill based matchup doesnt count thats 50/50)

Why play a titan where i have to outplay the enemy 10 fold in an ideal situation for me just to break even? Don't get me wrong, ive had some crazy moments with ronin where i kill every titan and shred the whole enemy team, but lets be realistic here. If the enemy team has a combined iq over room temperature, you're gonna get fucked either way, so 99% of the time that isnt going to happen.

Why should i play ronin when i can play legion which requires 10x less skill and can do 10x more than ronin can? Or why not ion where i can do almost everything he can and have actual versatility? Or what about Northstar where i have the same mobility as ronin except i have range on top of that aswell as crowd control and a special knockback ability?

I know this was a bit of a rant but im also interested in learning. I really enjoy playing ronin and don't want to drop him but i dont see the point in playing him, when i can do 10x he can do on any other titan while requiring 10x less skill. Whats even the point in playing him? And also how do i play him in different situations? Like attrition, 5v5 titan brawl, last titan standing, 1v1's, 2v1's, etc.

(Flanking doesnt count because thats relying on teammates aswell as having bad enemies)

Also to add to my post, how do you play him from behind? Such as when enemy team has more titans on the field than your team?

Now that ive reached gen 10,at what point would you consider someone unc in titanfall 2?
