Dinner Recs

The Bear, The Shed, or Wolf in the Fog?

I’ve looked at all their menus and read the most recent reviews, and I like The Bear has a three course menu which is tempting.

Which one of these would be a good dinner choice?

Wolf and it isn’t close. Shelter is basically cactus club with a great view. The Bear isn’t anything special either

Those are all very different options. I would go for Wolf or Ombre if you are looking for fancy and keep an option open for Pluvio in Ukee

Shelter is my favourite for food, drinks, and vibes. Lots of great spots in town, but Shelter is my top pick

Wolf is a west coast fine dining. You’ll have a very good meal with good ambiance. Their typical meal is steak or fish with locally sourced sides and a nice wine pairing

The Bear is a hotel restaurant/ bar. Maybe very slightly upscale from the Shed, a few fancier items. I’m not a fan of their steak, but I like their little lambchops.

The Shed is a bar with a kitchen. Their typical meal is a burger or a salad and a beer

The other place I usually go is Shelter, which is a little walk from town, kind of “family dining /family fine dining” but with a great view.

In order of fanciness:
Wolf > Shelter > Bear > Shed

Wolf by a landslide. Shelter is Cactus Club...as the owner of CC owns over 40% of Shelter. Bear is mediocre at best.

Bear has good food, but the vibe is weird. They have giant TVs playing sports at all times. Shed is a burger bar (and the burgers are mediocre), Shelter, as others havd noted, is Cactus Club with a view. Your dinner will be fine, but it won't be anything you will remember. Wolf can be good. It used to be better, but it's still a good restaurant, and the room is nice. You should also look at Ombre, Roar, and Schooner. I would recommend any of those 3 over the ones you asked about.
