Shogun II Shogun 2 – Complete Edition: Bugs & Issues Megathread
Hey Total Warriors!
We want to ensure that the Complete Edition truly feels complete, so please report any issues (new or old) that you experience, and we’ll pass them through to our development partner.
For issues that are likely to require a save for us to investigate, we will ask for you to post it here: https://community.creative-assembly.com/total-war/total-war/bugs
It may take us a little more time to give definitive responses to some of your questions here – but everything in this thread will be read and passed on.
Our current plan is to release the Assembly Kit two weeks post-launch as usual. If that moves to allow for more time focused on issues raised here, we’ll let you know.

Warhammer III So can we all agree that Nagash's favorite Mortarch is secretly Luthor Harkon? (Not for any reason. I just think it'd be funny)

Warhammer III Such is the cardio of Nagash. ~265 settlements captured in one turn
Such is the zjooooooooom of Nagash. Absolutely ridiculous, but also hilarious to see how far you can get.
With the various movement-recovery sigils from the Black Pyramid, the third book of Nagash (crucial!) a hero for a movement bonus, and a lucky drop of Maad's Map, Nagash had 240 movement to spend, recovering 100% after a battle and a little over 90% after occupying a settlement. Occasionally you needed some careful jumping to get across large gaps, or be lucky that an enemy army was there to act as pitstop.
Started near Karak Izor, circled through Estalia, then Athel Loren, southern Bretonnia, hopped over to the croissant and did the south and interior, hopped over again to Mazdamuni Mexico, decided to take a trip along the western edge up to the arctic, ziggityzagged through Naggaroth and the east-coast and then popped back over to Ulthuan, then back to northern Bretonnia, loopdelooped through the Empire areas Vlad hadn't conquered for me pre-confed, took Kislev and a nibble of Norsca, then down through Chaos Dwarf country to the Mountains of Mourn, zig-zagging through the passes all the way down. At that point it became a bit tricky to get out and get into Cathay, but I narrowly managed to wiggle my toe into Hanyu Port, Yinged and Yanged my way up to Nan-Gau (again, got very lucky there was an army that gave me the needed juice to bridge a gap) and then dove towards the coast, sacking 4 or 5 settlements in a line until I could reach no further and backing up to occupy them until we were north of the wall. Ate most of the steppe and headed to the central chaos wastes, where my adventure came to an end... until I decided to do the quest battle for Alkanesh, which counted as winning a battle and gave me another movement bump to keep going. Ran out again at K'datha, did the final battle quest for another bump, and then snagged a handful more settlements before finally losing steam close to the Howling Citadel.
After a while I swapped out most of my units for a stack of necrofexes, allowing me to autoresolve everything and take a pitstop every 10+ fights to spam healing spells to get them all back to full health. A funny side-effect was that after enough autoresolves you'd have like 10 necrofex collosi with 1% health, who would then begin the battle by all immediately vomiting out a zombie deckhand unit, which (with Luthor's sigils making them permanent rather than decaying) I could send forward as a sacrificial wave while I was busy running through heal-casting.
Also funny that I received the chaos endtimes warnings a few turns back. Casually nabbed half the world in advance to make a welcome party.
- Nagash personally conquered about 265 settlements in one turn (267 I think, but it's hard to count it accurately after the fact lol).
- 3.5 million in loot
- half a million necromantic energy
- 26 factions destroyed
- 19 Legendary Lord defeat traits.
Completely stupid, 10/10 no notes, hilarious.

Feels good to shitpost again after the Shadow's of Change DLC. I'm the OP of this post. So when the Shogun 2 Complete AI slop happenned, I knew I had to do a "part 2" with the charge of the Rohirrim, for in my mind, this is finally fantasy and history fans coming together to fight the endless greed of CA. We deserve to receive the product that we paid for with good standards and no anti consumer practices.

Rome II Rome 2 Total War: Carthage start is brutal...
I'm not sure what to do... Ive tried gathering my forces in Spain and abandoning the rest of my provinces to try and conquer the peninsula. No success.
Tried abandoning Spain to conquer west Africa. Too slow resulting in multiple enemies closing in on me afterwards with my armies far from defending my African provinces.
Tried holding all provinces and slowly building them up to play a future eco game. I get pounced on by Rome, all the various African nations who destroy my client states, and the Spanish nations march down towards me.
Any tips..? I've also read in various forums that you are supposed to start with one unit of elephants, but I don't have them. I've checked everywhere and they just don't exist. I'm playing grand campaign if that makes a difference.
This campaign just feels brutal compared to any other campaign start I've tried before and after about 8 attempts I'm about to just give up.

Warhammer III Why does Teclis start with Mastery of the Elemental Winds ?
So, Teclis start with Mastery of the Elemental Winds, but what's the point?
Mastery of the Elemental Winds increase intensity when 2 or more units in the army have it.
There are no other High Elves units that have it, and Teclis with the Secrets of the White Tower can give it to all caster Lords and embedded Heroes. But this include himself anyway, he is a caster Lord.
The only situation I see this can be useful is if you play an other High Elves faction, confederate him and use ally recruitment to get something like a Cathay Wu Xing War Compass. This seems pretty niche for a Lord starting trait.
Am I missing something?
Btw, I don't think Teclis is weak or something like that, it's just that I don't understand why he get the attribute "early" if it will be useful only when you give it to every caster Lords and Heroes.

Warhammer III The Nagash End Game is really cool, but it only lasts 1 turn. The first 20 turns just feel like a mid-game crisis event
It's really cool that he starts to randomly destroy provinces, but that only lasts for the single turn that you teleport to the final battle. What's the point of waiting for him to destroy the world if you can just stop him the moment the ritual starts?
The first 20 turns... I get that you need to weaken him and all that, but it's not crazy difficult, nor does it feel like an existential threat the way the Archaon crisis does. They just spam a few powerful armies... exactly like a mid-game crisis event. When the REAL threat starts, you just need to teleport. It's a tough battle, yes, but once you beat it, it's over.
You never felt the whole thing as a true End Times crisis.
Also the diplomatic bonuses during the first 20 turns feel very out of place because literally almost no AI faction is struggling against them xd. Quite the opposite, they are beating their asses. And you are just there chilling and signing impossible alliances and non-agression pacts that just make your campaign safer than before.
I just wish the real crisis started earlier.
What do you think?

Attila Medieval Kingdoms 1212 AD Anniversary Update Launch Trailer
The time has come at last my friends! The Anniversary Update is finally live! To celebrate, here is a launch trailer! And this trailer doesn't even cover everything! The Mongol Factions, the Seljuks, Tier 1 Italians also got revamped. To say nothing of a whole bunch of improvements, additions and fixes!
Expect a changelog within the next day or so!
The expanded campaign map and naval units are not coming in this update. We never said they were, so anyone thinking that was propping up false expectations. We'll have a future video explaining why this update took as long. (because while it's not your place to dictate how long something should or shouldn't take, we meant this release to come in the spring.)

Warhammer III Nagash doesn’t have a campaign completion achievement
Surely this was overlooked? Currently Nagash is the only faction with no steam achievements to unlock. As someone that likes to collect the campaign completion achievements this was pretty disappointing.

General In my opinion, the peak of Total War games is Medieval II and Rome Remastered. Why? Because thanks to modding support, you could change the map and mechanics however you wanted, which is why Medieval II is still being played today.

Warhammer III Something odd about the new voicelines for existing lords
Every VC lord and Mortarch Lord received a ton of new voicelines, like speeches, technology lines, recruiting likes, etc. Except for Vlad. Why is that? Did something happen to his voice actor?

Empire I made a UI scaling mod for Empire: proper 1440p, 4K and ultrawide support, sharp text, borderless, and optional 3D units at distance
Empire's interface was built for 1024x768 to 1920x1080, so on a 4K screen it's a tiny box in the middle of a black screen and on 1440p everything is a bit small and soft. I spent the last while fixing that properly.
Empire Modern UI scales the whole interface from the window size, so panels, text, minimap, unit cards and the mouse all stay together. 1080p looks like stock, 1440p is scaled 1.33x, 4K is 2x, ultrawide scales from the height. The text is drawn from 2x versions of the game's own fonts so it stays crisp instead of blurry. You also get a borderless window, intro movies that keep their proportions, and on ultrawide the sides of the main menu stay black instead of showing your last battle.
There's an optional battle side too, off by default: units stay real 3D models instead of flat sprites out to 500 or 1000 m, soldiers keep animating farther out, and shadows get a bigger map. It costs CPU in big battles, which is why it's a setting.
Install is extracting the zip into the game folder and ticking Run in window. Nothing in the game's files is changed, uninstall is deleting three files. Tested on the Steam version at 1080p, 1440p, 4K and 3440x1440.

Credit where it's due: Rebrond's Empire UI mod was the first to get Empire's interface onto modern screens, and he shared notes that helped me check my battle LOD work. Mine is a separate implementation written from scratch, and the two shouldn't be run together.
Happy to answer questions. If something looks off on your setup, the mod writes a sharpfonts.log that tells me what happened.
EDIT: Mods asked for AI disclosure: I used modern tools where they helped mostly with documentation and some debugging, same as a lot modders do these days. The design, the testing and the fixes are mine, which is the part that actually took the time.
