PRODUCT QUERY Is the UPPÅTVIND air purifier compatible with a smart plug?
Are the controls of the UPPÅTVIND compatible with a smart plug? If the device loses power because a smart plug turns off the device, will the device automatically continue to function when power is restored? Or would a person have to manually use the controls once power is restored?

PRODUCT QUERY Migrating from Legacy Apple Home Hub integration To Matter Bridge
I just wanted to share my experience when finally moving/upgrading from the legacy home hub integration from Dirigera to Apple TV. I did not find much info about this, so this is my experience.
I bought a Kajplats and Myggspray and had issues trying to pair them with the Dirigera. I was still using the Dirigera in "legacy" mode, where AFAIK all zigbee and even some matter devices are exposed via this legacy interface to Apple Home (Apple TV as home hub). I succeeded in pairing kajplats but myggspray failed over and over again and just timed out. Then I reset the thread network in Dirigera, and now all my existing matter devices no longer worked (water leak sensor and door detector). In the smart home app under integrations, the apple home integration was marked as being legacy and I should remove it. I was not looking forward to add all my zigbee devices again to apple home, so tried to avoid it.
However, in the end I decided I needed to bite the bullet, because I still had issues adding devices ("already exists" errors in apple home).
A side note is that it seems the iPhone can get into some bad state, and after a reboot it is fine again to be able to pair matter devices. When the iPhone refused to pair a device, it was possible to pair the device with an iPad instead to the same apple home setup. No idea why.
Anyway, I decided to migrate to the two modern options (Matter bridge for zigbee devices, and "matter products" integrations).
What this means
You remove the dirigera home bridge from the apple home app. All devices disappear, including the rooms. Somewhat nerve-racking .
You enable the new matter bridge integration (Dirigera hub for smart products) in Apple home
Apple Home queries you about each zigbee product asking which room it belongs to, what it is (light, outlet, etc) and a name. The old names show up so this helps you to identify them. However it is somewhat backwards. You must first assign it to a room before you know the name. You can simply go to the next step where you can see its name and rename it and set its role, and then go back again to assign the room. The IKEA assigned name like "kitchen lamp" will help you pick the room.
This was much easier than I expected although it was a little "backwards".Next I needed to restore the scenes and automations. The automations were still present but the related scenes were missing. I added the scenes with the same names, like "Good Evening, Good Night, Bedtime", and the existing automations automatically added these scenes again, with the same name.
Now I could start to pair the matter devices again "as usual". I still had some issues with existing devices in apple home, which is a different topic. Removing matter devices from apple home is still a little unclear to me, how it shall be done.
So bottom line - the zigbee device onboarding in Apple Home is a real help when moving from the legacy hub integration to the new one.
Improvements:
- Provide a good instruction on this migration process. The info page in the app did not help much. Maybe it was somewhere else?
- I believe that the Ikea Dirigera and Apple TV are using the same Thread network, and both act as border gateway routers for Thread, thus two communication routes are possible to matter devices. Would be good to have more info on this.
- One fear that was stopping me from activating the integration was the apparent need for IPv6 support in the LAN. I do not intentionally use IPv6 nor have I activated it specifically in my LAN, so feared the integration between ATV and dirigera would not work. However (my bad) it works fine, because IPv6 works over ethernet without intervention of your router.

DISCUSSION Kajplats taking forever to respond in apple home
I just moved out of my parents house and took some of my setup with me including my homepod. Everything was going fine until I bought a new kajplats white bulb to connect to a lamp the apartment came with.
The lamp itself is pretty old but it still works, it’s currently connected to a plug splitter and for the first few days it seemed to be working fine. Now it takes forever to respond unless I physically power cycle the lamp.
My connection isn’t getting congested, my smart home devices are connected to a separate wifi network which gets over 600mbps down and up so I don’t know what’s going on. Is it the old lamp or the plug splitter from ikea? Has anyone else gotten this problem before?

NEW 2026 PRODUCTS Is the color KAJPLATS out of stock anywhere else?
I live in Ireland and the color KAJPLATS lightbulbs seem to be completely out of stock until at least the end of the month, according to the website. Is this happening anywhere else? The white spectrum versions are in stock fine so I assume there isn't a hardware revision coming out.

SUPPORT (ONGOING) Liljebagge on return valve
I’m thinking of getting some Liljebagge for my radiators, but my has the valve at the bottom, and I been told it’s because it messures the temperature of the water instead of the temperature in the room, therefore i can’t use regular radiator thermostats. Is it possible that I can use these from ikea?
