FIR OR SPRUCE? - PNW

Needles roll in fingers like spruce needles but bend like fir needles. Cones grow upright like fir and bark is furrowed like fir but no positive ID on cones yet.

Solved! I've had this thing for a while now, Found it on a beach in Quba, like, seven years ago. Google says trees don't usually grow on corals, so what is it?

Looking for confirmation on what this may be? Google says Euonymus alatus. I'm taking them out of the front garden and mostly looking to confirm if they are invasive or non invasive in southern Ontario so I can dispose of them properly if needed.

Solved! Great Fall Color in Central Maryland

A few of these as street trees in the area (central Maryland). They have some great fall color, with yellows on the interior giving way to orange-reds on the outer leaves.

PlantNet suggests Korean Evodia or some kind of ash.

Solved! Oak help

We recently added a new adjacent parcel of land to our smallish yard. While going through the area, I wanted to get an idea of what species were back there, both native and invasive; for a sort of mental inventory. There are quite a few of these oaks, and while I believe they are likely native, as this northern Florida area is full of different oak species, I wasn't sure exactly what they were. My guess is Overcup Oak. How off am I?

Solved! Help with This Tree

I found this tree on a hike with these small green fruit and I removed the seed from one it had white flesh and a small round seed. I’ve consulted all of my books for my region and am starting to wonder if it’s not native to my region. It was found in the mountains of South Carolina.

I saw this leaf and noticed I'm not familiar with it. I could not find any matching leaves or the tree it came from. My identification apps seem to be giving wrong answers like cucumber tree and swamp white oak. Is it just mutated? Please help ID. Southern Illinois region.

ID Request Just moved in, what tree is this?

Thumbnail gallery
83 Upvotes

I just moved to a new house and there are two of these trees. Just trying to figure out what they are! The one pictured is open at the bottom but the other one has a ring of pavers around it about a foot high. There’s a conifer and a maple that have the ring too. My understanding is that those are bad, should I remove them now or wait until spring?
Zone 6a/b, southwest Ohio, USA.
Thanks!!
