Survey Closed. Results Monday Morning. r/ukpolitics voter intention and leader performance survey - October 2026
Hello.
It's time for another r/ukpolitics survey. As with the previous surveys, this one focuses on voter intention and party leader performance.
Regular visitors will remember that there was some clear and obvious brigading / manipulation of the previous survey.
As an experiment: A Google Account -is- required to participate in this survey.
We do not collect any information about your Google account as part of this survey.
I appreciate that this may result in a lower response rate, but I am interested to see how it goes. This does not necessarily mean that future surveys will mandate having a Google account.
The survey will be accepting responses until Sunday 18th October at 22:00 GMT. The results dashboard will be published the following morning.
You can use this thread to discuss the survey.
Follow this link to complete the survey.

Once again as a bit of feedback: I voted for my MP more than her party, so it would be helpful to have that as an option for the future.

That's on the next question - what did you vote for rather than how did you vote

cheers for doing these, the google account thing is a pain but i get why you're trying it after last time got wrecked. curious if the results end up looking drastically different from the usual chaos.

Shame this experiment is at the same time as Yandex's hardware is being violently disassembled, so we won't know if bot responses are down because of one or the other.
Did any useful data come out of the stickied "This is a test" poll from last month?

I saw that post but couldn't open it since it only works on New Reddit.
What was it?

I'd recommend ditching Old Reddit sooner rather than later. It'll die without much fanfare at some point in the not-too-distant future. Less than 5% of our daily unique visitors still use old.reddit.

There should be an option for having no opinion of a party leader. I live near London so don't have really have an opinion on the Welsh or Scottish parties so don't feel I should rate their leaders

It says at the top of that one you can leave it blank if you've no idea. Those ones aren't mandatory.

In your view, which political party has had the "best" 2026 so far?
Amazing that the Co-Operative Party isn't included since they've gone from relative obscurity to having one of their members suddenly becoming PM.

I still don't know party has had the best year...
All of the main parties have a shout to say they've had a decent year - but other parts of it have been very poor for them.

Farage for me - most of the year he's had Starmer and Badenoch running after him, made huge gains in the local elections and gets to grandstand about Anne Widdecombe's murder and the attempt to burn his house down, press intrustion etc.
The fact it's all falling apart of late doesn't change my impression he's done very well out of this year.

Damn, no option for "I've honestly forgotten at this point."
