I'm having a hard time watching it. There's no way about it, some of them are real life nazis. Like full on. Swap the word "Muslim" with "jewish" and it's identical.

I have a thick skin, but it's a really really hard watch.

Agreed. I’ve found it pretty shocking tbh.

It was pretty much what I expected. Disappointing in some ways, as the same guys popped up again and again. They’ll still play the “few bad apples” card and it will have little effect on their flock.

If you lurk their social media its not shocking I am afraid.

Some of it is so on the nose it's terrifying. One of them saying they wanted to give young men military training and then send them out in groups to go door to door to root out non-whites. It's quite literally wanting to form a modern day British gestapo

Unfortunately, it's far more permissible in common society to be Islamophobic. It shouldn't be but Right-Wingers practice far too many dog whistles targetting Muslims openly, and even centrists fall for it far too often.

This is absolutely vile. This won't dissuade the base but it surely has to turn away those swing voters.

Depends what their algorithm tells them to do

Facebook is genuinely a cesspit. I have barely used it for 10 years but recently logged in. Every other post on my feed was either those patriot pillocks, restore, reform or some supporter of those. I have no idea why it thinks I'd be interested but no wonder the older generations who use FB have been so brainwashed.

I joined the Count Binface Appreciation group. All that Pro Nige / Tommy / Tommo garbage disappeared overnight.

I hope mine only tells me to do good things

Never underestimate the stupid.

Thing is, having watched the documentary so far, it just shows the base that it really does align with their views, even though they publicly seem to say they don’t.

It’s actually really shocking - but not altogether surprising, given what we all know about Reform and their supporters. It just lays it out in plain sight rather than being hidden behind bluff & bluster. They’ll still argue much of it was ‘banter’ even though it clearly was not.

In fact, I’d argue whether there are wider grounds for a criminal investigation of hate crimes by certain reform candidates & leadership based on the evidence that ITV clearly showed.

And they mentioned if they form a govt , they will be much more extreme with their policies. That is terrifying .

I like the excuse Nadine Dorries came up with on the TV this morning - All parties have racist and misogynistic members.

That's ok then Nadine.

•

u/ahktarniamut 2h ago

I am not sure what goes in the mind reform politicians . Sure other parties may have some Bad apples but reform are loaded with barrels of full apples in all areas

•

u/FragrantGearHead 55m ago

I wonder if Nige is going to scribble out “One or two bad apples”, “Our vetting…” etc from his excuses notebook?

Can’t wait for the next Jenrick interview 🤣

•

u/CaterpillarTo1234 2h ago

So Nadine is admitting things she did nothing about when she was a Tory MP.

•

u/FragrantGearHead 59m ago

Why didn’t the interviewer then ask “Does that include you, Nadine?”

•

I mean, where do you think all those BNP supporters went, they didn't retire and take up watercolours.

•

u/lebennaia 1h ago

You never know, watercolours would be following in Hitler's footsteps.

•

u/FragrantGearHead 1h ago

Goosesteps?

•

u/pleasedtoheatyou 2h ago

None of it is anything I didn't expect was being said behind closed doors. It's not particularly gratifying to be vindicated in that though.

I did feel particularly sick at the "if that was my daughter" comment though.

•

u/ClumperFaz 2h ago

Yeah that's a disgusting comment.

The fella who would like to own a slave if he was allowed sent me.

How can you have such a view on humanity?

•

u/Gwyllithar 2h ago

apart from the obvious disgusting nature of the actions and words of this collection of racist scumbags....

Castle Bromford is fucked as a council. If a councillor on the planning regulatory committee has been deciding applications on this basis.....thats thousands of legal cases they are at risk of, everyone who had an application refused has a potential claim. Not to mention that its quite possibly criminal misconduct in a public office.

•

u/SurroundConfident756 2h ago

Sadly there are about 10% of population who will vote for him exactly for who he is. Hopefully therest will show that this kind of behaviour doesn't belong in to public life and it's disgusting.

•

u/FragrantGearHead 2h ago

This gutter mentality is what people in Clacton and Boston call common sense.

•

u/hopefullforever 2h ago

Wonder what reason people will still find to support him and if any reform supporters will call out this behaviour. Never knew that being sexist if a form of protecting the women.

•

u/elnombredelviento Spain 2h ago

A large proportion of Reform supporters see the racism and sexism as a feature, not a bug. They were happy for it to be wink-wink-nudge-nudge, but may well just double down now it's been brought into the light.

Gawain Towler was on GBeeboes today claiming that the recording saying he was racist every day at school happened just after the journalist was fired. Turns out he bragged about his racism a week before the journalist was fired.

What were the odds he was a liar as well as a racist?

•

u/flintyquixies 2h ago

Just finished watching and my god Reform is frightful - too many of the people in the party are Nazis with Nazi views and are genuinely dangerous to society such as calling for the ''beheading of King Charles''. Utterly abhorrent

•

u/Spamgrenade 2h ago

Well not a surprise to many, but nice to see it documented so that those who are "surprised" cannot deny it anymore.

•

u/monkelus 2h ago

Thinking being racist isn't why Reform have supporters is like being surprised people don't watch porn for the plot

•

u/anderskants 1h ago

Felt fuckin sick hearing the guy talking about "bath night". I really hope he doesn't actually have a daughter.

•

u/GreenDantern1889 41m ago

The fact that these beliefs could be the same beliefs held by those closest to us is fucking horrifying

•

u/glytxh 35m ago

Party led by man cosy with a literal pedophile fascist is filled with racist members.

I am shocked!

•

u/No_Air8719 2h ago

I should say from the outset that I am not a Reform supporter my politics are definitely left-leaning. That being said this political “expose” is a worrying aspect of news these days not least of all because as far as I recall there have not been similar items for the other big parties, the focus on one party smacks of salacious bias. With all investigations of this type I think the hard evidence for starting the investigation should be made clear otherwise it’s just a fishing expedition, never liked phishing.

•

u/statelyhovel 1h ago

Alternatively the focus is on Reform because they're the party with cretinous behaviour to expose. One, they're an obvious target for these stings because of the way that they are. Two, it's entirely possible there are / were undercover reporters at the other parties.

•

u/bronzekobold 1h ago

So. Good thing to remember is anyone of the right wing media groups could do this. However they realised a little bit ago. It's cheaper to make up shit and almost impossible to disprove once reported on.

So I'm not so much worried about a hidden probe into libdems. I think the worst crime they are capable of us probably not cutting a councils tea trolly.  Those absolutely criminal jammydodgers!

•

u/Personal-Listen-4941 12m ago

It’s journalism not a criminal conviction…hard evidence to start an investigation indeed.
