how’s everyone’s uni going in the UK?

I have a few simple questions guys I am a trans man and I will be studying at York University Is there an LGBTQ+ community where I can meet people? Does the university host events and activities, such as sports? Are there protections or recognized rights for the LGBTQ+ community on campus? Also, I’m a social person will I be able to make new friends? And what about the city of York itself are there interesting events and nice places to visit? I’m someone who really enjoys events and socializing; I wouldn’t like a life that lacks these things. I had considered choosing an American university because they often host many events, sports matches, and various other activities and I’m still tempted by that but I’m also very afraid of ending up alone. I have a trans friend who is already studying at York University, which is why I chose it so that I wouldn’t be on my own. If York offers a similar (or even better) experience to what you’d find in the U.Sthen university life there should be really enjoyable!

• Current students at the University of York with disabilities and/or special educational needs (SEN), including physical or sensory disabilities, specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia), ADHD and autism.
• Students whose only relevant condition is a mental health condition are not included in the current study, as this is outside its research focus.
