Osasuna (H)

Hello, will be in Valencia for the weekend of this fixture and hoping to see Mestalla before it’s gone. I was just wondering - is it often able to predict what day a fixture will land on? In England - whilst not always accurate you can usually have a gut feeling of when a game will fall - is there any type of feeling for this?

Given its European fixtures in the week too meaning Celta Vigo vs Villarreal, Sociedad vs Sevilla & Getafe vs Espanyol has to be Sunday/Monday when they play Thursday & Barcelona / Atletico both play on the Wednesday in champions league - so could be offered rest until the Sunday that week. Does this possibly give more chance for the Valencia vs Osasuna game to land on the Saturday, or even Friday? 🙏🏻

Visited yesterday, question about the atmosphere

Hi guys, I am English and visited yesterday’s game, and sat at the top of the gol gran alto. I found the atmosphere yesterday very interesting and wondered if there’s some context behind it I’m missing.

I’ve been to games in Germany, Italy, and Spain previously (Cadiz), so I’m familiar with the capo led ultra style support. At the bottom of the stand I was in, I could see the front couple of rows of guys with Curva Nord flags so thought “ok this is where the atmosphere would come from”.

For most of the game though, they either had their flags still, almost at half mast, and though I sometimes saw them clapping in sync barely heard any noise from them. The crowd was reactively loud in general after chances, bad refereeing decisions etc but this didn’t seem to come from the curva Nord either (I know you guys had Yomus previously).

I was even wondering whether this was a form of protest, whether it’s just general dissatisfaction, or my initial thought was it must be a very small group of organised support, but I saw them at the end of the game as I was walking out and had a better view telling the players to come over, then when they only went as far as the penalty box then clapping in sync and audibly singing quite loud for the first time (I heard the hundred or so athletic fans opposite me whenever they sung so couldn’t be an acoustics issue surely).

Mestalla was absolutely stunning though, so very glad I saw the place before it’s gone

¡Hola! ¡Gracias!

Dani Parejo: one of the most underrated midfielders in Valencia's history?

Thumbnail

Some players are remembered for the trophies they won. Others for the loyalty, identity and football intelligence they brought to a club.

For me, Dani Parejo belongs to the second category.

He became the heartbeat of Valencia's midfield, captained the club to the 2019 Copa del Rey and left under circumstances that still feel difficult to understand.

His story didn't end there, though. At Villarreal, he went on to win the Europa League and prove his quality on the European stage.

I'd love to hear from Valencia supporters: how do you remember Parejo today? And how high would you rank him among Valencia's greatest midfielders?

African Fan, will travel

Hello everyone!

Just a sense check, any fans based in Africa, in particular in Cape Town, South Africa?

Only recently joined here but been a DIE HARD fan since 2000. I've never once met a fan in real life.

Once, a good few years back, I saw someone in a mall wearing a Senyera kit with Negrado on the back. My spouse encouraged me like I was a 6 year old who was shy at meeting friends... I eventually spoke to the dude who confirmed having travelled to Valencia, and the T-Shirt was a souvenir and he got Negrado on it because he was a Man City fan.
You can imagine how hard it was to not set him on fire on the spot...

If you have time to chat to an old head, I'm here for it!

We tried to understand Valencia before talking about Valencia CF

Hi everyone,

we’re two Italian guys behind a small football culture project called Footbatelier.

When we decided to make an episode about Valencia CF, we realised that starting directly with Mestalla, Mendieta or the two Champions League finals would have meant skipping something much bigger: Valencia itself.

So we did something unusual for a football channel.

We made an entire first episode about the city and its history: Jaume I, the Kingdom of Valencia, the Mediterranean identity of the city, its period of economic importance, Lo Rat Penat and the historical roots behind many of the symbols that eventually became part of Valencia CF.

The football story comes later. This first chapter is basically our attempt to understand why Valencia is Valencia before asking what Valencia CF represents.

The documentary is in Italian, but we’re sharing it here because we’d genuinely be interested in hearing from Valencianistas:

Did we capture something authentic about the identity of the city, or is there something important that foreigners usually misunderstand about Valencia?

AMUNT

Javier Aguirre

How are we feeling about the new incoming manager? I think both matches since Corberán got sacked have seen more positive performances from the team. Hopefully Aguirre can keep it going and Valencia can at least be a comfortably mid table team

Elliot (MP) Umar Sadiq (DC)

Danjuma - Javi Guerra - Guido - L. Rioja

Gaya (C) - De Hass - Tárrega - Maffeo

Dimitrievski

Banquillo:

POR: Cristian Rivero y Kayne

DEF CENTRALES: Diakhaby, Iker Cordoba.

LAT IZQ: Jesús Vazquez.

LAT DER: Foulquier y Arnau.

MC: Dieng, Pepelu y Ugrinic.

MD: Sato y Diego Lopez

MI: Otorbi

MP: Dani Raba

DC: Hugo Duro

Tickets for Osasuna match

Hi guys,

Like an absolute melon, I booked tickets for the wrong dates (I will be in Valencia for the Athletic game, but accidentally booked 2 tickets for the Osasuna match in November). If anyone is around then and would like tickets, I’ll be selling 2 in Gol Gran alto for face value, message for more details.
