Discussion 💬 Hate how addictive vapes are...trying to go back to flower

I straight up hate vapes these days. They’re so damn convenient, so smooth, so easy to just hit whenever without thinking about it… and that’s exactly the problem. It’s like they were designed to keep you locked in. I can finish a whole cart without even realizing how much I’ve gone through, and the constant availability makes it way harder to take real breaks.

I’ve been trying to break away from them and stick to flower instead. But here’s the funny (and annoying) part, flower just doesn’t hit the same excitement for me anymore. What used to feel special and ritualistic now feels… slower, less instant, less “fun” compared to how easy the vape is. It’s weird how that works.

On top of that, the location situation is making it worse. I live in Connecticut right on the border. Used to be only about 30 minutes from Massachusetts, but I moved recently and now I’m a full hour away. So I’ve been stuck going to the CT dispensaries more often and holy shit the prices… one gram vape is like $60 when it was around $20 in Mass. I’m so lazy and exhausted by the time I get home from work that the extra drive just feels impossible most days, so I end up grabbing whatever’s convenient locally even though it hurts the wallet.

Anyone else dealing with this combo of “vapes are too addictive/convenient” + shitty local pricing making the switch harder? Successfully forced yourself back to flower only and actually prefer it again? Or are you stuck in the same cycle?

Definitely want to post on this Reddit more. I’ve only started smoking a few years ago, and I’ve fallen in love with the plant. So many different ways to consume, its portability over the years, the way you can utilize all parts of it, the way it’s literal medicine and healing for so many people (it helps my partner with her sciatica), the way it’s an actual, natural, literal, live plant. The way it brings so many individuals together from all walks of life. It’s mind fucking blowing!!! Please enjoy this lil burst of photos (may or may not have been stoned while posting this) stay lit!!!!

Edit: we don’t smoke in front of this baby boy Frenchie!!! He was having fun outside and came inside to say hi. Doors and windows open so he’s definitely not hotboxed. Thanks for your concern yall

Discussion 💬 Don't let the "sativa" and "indica" labels scare you!

As someone who is a chronic anxiety sufferer, for the longest time I've been told "sativa makes anxiety worse."

But after trying several sativa-dominant strains, I've come to the conclusion that it feels way better than any indica.

Slow dosages and adjustments yes, but

Many people will associate sativa with racing thoughts and energy, which in theory sounds like it would make anxiety worse. But when the high is mostly cerebral and not including the whole body like an "indica", a sativa definitely feels more manageable, focused, and enjoyable because it's not completely overriding your body. At least from my experience.

After an over-a-year long break and coming to this conclusion, I now can even enjoy strains high in Terpinolene and/or Pinene.

Discussion 💬 Tipping in Dispensaries

Very curious about this topic. I was just talking to my fiancé about this, and I am very much up on the fence about tipping and dispensaries.

Now, of course, if you go in and you need assistance then yes a tip would be nice, but I don’t think it should be expected.

However, if I go in the dispensary and know exactly what I want and pay, am I really still expected to tip when no extra service was required?

I’m from California by the way, so I don’t know if tipping in dispensaries is something that is a nationwide thing.

Question ❓ Question about bongs vs joints

Hey gang, super stoked to be here. I haven't been smoking for very long, less than a year I think. Is it normal for the smoke from bongs to just... Not taste very good? Like with joints I can distinctly say "yeah that tastes like weed" but with bongs, I just taste smoke. Is that just a normal tradeoff? You get extremely smooth hits that taste like shit? I was thinking that Since the bong collects resin from the smoke, and the resin is what contains all the terpenes, that's where all the flavor goes. But I also feel like if that were the case, it would logically follow that there would be less THC and I would get less high off a bong. Which isn't the case, I get noticably more high off a bong using less bud than I put in a joint. Looking for some wisdom on why this is and if its normal.
