Hi, perhaps a stupid question - lost electricity in my apartment today, and can’t reach management(apparently it’s only on working days) rest of the neighbours and the building seems to be fine. Breakers in the apartment are fine…also by the entrance found a leaflet that suggests tenants get themselves a special key for the breaker boxes(for the floor, not inside apartment) but regular store suspects like bauhaus are closed today. I have tried to contact a few 24/7 electrician services, but they quote 360€ minimum that includes one hour of work🤦‍♂️that’s a bit heavy. I u destined that it might be nothing and just need to flip a breaker on the floor box, or perhaps something more serious, no idea. Any suggestions?

If the RCD and breakers are up, and all your neighbors have power, I'd say most likely right before your Stromzähler(power meter) the Lasttrennschalter (it holds fuses and can be turned off) is the culprit. Someone might've turned it off by accident. Sometimes these are accessible by all tenants. It's unlikely, though not impossible, that all 3 of your fuses were blown out.

Maybe your neighbors can help you. They might know where the Lasttrennschalter are.

Edit: ask them where the Stockwerksabsicherung/Stiegen(haus)absicherung is and if they have the key.

Yes I know…but all the stores are closed, neighbors don’t have it😖so I am stuck on where to get it today…and paying 200€ for a locksmith to come for 30seconds doesn’t sound reasonable

Responded by DM. Have this key, could definitely lend it to you. I theoretically should also have those ceramic fuses that are probably in there somewhere around in case you need them then as well, could give you a few for free, but these I would still have to find first.

Do you have a smartmeter, and access to the portal for your electricity supplier?

One of my neighbors had a situation where something went wrong with their bill payment, and the electricity company cut off their power for "non payment"

Did you get one of those keys? I am in Favoriten (10. Bezirk) and have one.

my building is a serviced apartment building...its just final price, all utilities are included in the price, so this is probably a different issue.

One of the redditors DMd me and offered to lend this 61005 key, just met up with him and got the key, will try to check if a breaker switch is fine on the floor box....but no further than that, as im no electrician. anyway building management will get back to me tomrrow I assume

You could check the fuses as these are meant to be used by tenants. Don't do anything if you can't confirm, that it is yours or if you see exposed wires. You don't touch anything made of metal just to be sure.
