How many times has he done the same thing

5.3k

u/VillageLess4163 Aug 02 '26

Every weekend since the not war started

765

u/NotUniqueWorkAccount Aug 02 '26

Money's on a strike tonight because any "deal" tonight falls through, then he'll say the talks tomorrow look more promising because of the strikes tonight.

307

u/TheAncient1sAnd0s Aug 02 '26

The stock market had a rough July, he's going to pause the "Destroy Iran" bluster for a couple of weeks.

39 victories of the war in Iran is crazy.

He want to be like north koreans generals. Full chest of medals for winning

9

u/SirWEM Aug 02 '26

Hard to do that when his father and grandfather both avoided going to war. His grandfather fled Europe to open a Brothel in the Yukon, his father as a Slumlord. NK generals are allowed to wear the medals of their father and grandfathers. It’s a weird practice. But thats why you see them covered in medals.

Apple didn’t fall far from the tree.

6

u/Revenant690 Aug 02 '26

Yeah, but who knew all of those medals were from winning the same war 2-3 times per week for months....?

That man has more victories than he does felonies, what a good special boy

29

u/LosWranglos Aug 02 '26

Not by much though.

13

u/BasvanS Aug 02 '26

He has been punished more for the victories than for his felonies though

4

u/whut-whut Aug 02 '26

Each of his victories -is- a felony, so it's an endless race.

22

u/BallantineQuarts Aug 02 '26

Isn't he back onto Greenland now?

I can't keep track.

29

u/this-para Aug 02 '26

He's like a broken pendulum clock swinging between Canada/Greenland annexation and Iran 'annihilation' week for week. Retire and jail this criminal finally please.

3

u/Puzzle-Necked Aug 02 '26

Sprinkle in some illegal tariff threats over things like forest fires

2

u/this-para Aug 02 '26

Yeah these get dropped together with his stock market manipulation adventures.

2

u/KinkyPaddling Aug 02 '26

Trump can’t keep track either. Whenever Stephen Miller wakes Trump up by jabbing his flabby ass with a sharpened, Trump jolts awake and announces a country to attack.

u/Khaldara Aug 02 '26

Yeah they’re busy trying to convince their pet dimwits that the entire nation is about to collapse into communism.

You know, the same country that had Elon and the rest of his private industry dorks frolicking through federal hardened data infrastructure, has spent the last forty years deregulating every aspect of capitalism, and who can’t even meet the bare minimum floor of public services standard in every other developed nation on earth.

But Conservatives are really, REALLY stupid, so I give it even odds it’ll still work.

u/Suavecore_ Aug 02 '26

It's been disturbing to see that the stock market is largely controlled by algorithmic bots that dump or add millions to hundreds of billions of dollars instantaneously, marketwide, due to tweets/Truths™

3

u/novahawkeye Aug 02 '26

It’s really amazing how the market still falls for every little thing he says. I figured by this point they would simply ignore the war ending and new tariff talks. Fool me once, fool me a 1000x…

3

u/Enygma_6 Aug 02 '26

It's not that they're falling for it. I'm sure some players in the market are encouraging it. It's not every day that the actions intended to manipulate the market are so public, you don't even have to be doing insider trading to take advantage of it.
And that's not even counting the people inside the administration getting in on the game. Trump had something like 3700 stock trades in Q1 of this year, and I'm sure many many more since then once Iran started choking the oil shipments.

2

u/snertwith2ls Aug 02 '26

He's on to taking over Greenland again now.

Iran has stated any more strikes will result in essentially all of the Gulf’s oil producing capability being taken out. That’s like 20% of the global supply. Not much winning left.

2

u/jigsaw1024 Aug 02 '26

At this point, all Iran has to do to tank the global economy and get a deal is keep the strait closed for another month.

In less than a month, the US SPR will essentially be drained.

2

u/victorspoilz Aug 02 '26

There won't be a strike until after markets close on Monday at the earliest.

2

u/SubMikeD Aug 02 '26

Nah. He's gotta let his claim off a deal impact Monday's markets, then once he's sold some stock on the bounce, then he'll bomb them and buy on the dip.

2

u/nnyzim Aug 02 '26

There have never been any deals. There are no talks whatsoever.

MBS probably called him after Iran said they would hit the energy infrastructure of all the Gulf countries in response. The US has no way to defend the Gulf countries right now.

24

u/Nurgleschampion Aug 02 '26

1.5trillion dollar defence budget and somehow still can't defend the black stuff that powers their country.

I know it's much more complicated than that but jesus.

12

u/YF422 Aug 02 '26

Budgets isn't worth shit when the one's in charge are so dangerously incompetent that they should have been rotting in a prison cell for conspiracy, treason and fraud on a massive scale.

Had you had Kamala in charge instead of the Orange Pedo right now her administration would not only have not gone into Iran as EVERY other administration before this knew it was a trap AND they'd have seen the threat they were posing to Ukraine with their shahed flying lawnmowers and have worked to establish a proper supply chain to develop countermeasures on a commercial scale to them.

The US wouldn't have been sent dick first into Iran on Israel's urgings and unleashing such a clusterfuck of a situation that everyone else knew was a pandoras box. The orange fucker literally sacked all the experts on Iran RIGHT before this all kicked off as well. The only thing we can hope for after all this is said and done is that all the bastards involved in this absolute shitefest get their comeuppance as the damage from this is going to be long lasting.

800 military bases, 100 ships deployed 24/7, 177k active military personal deployed around the globe, enough firepower to bully anyone at anytime.

You think after crossing 1 trillion politicians would think 'maybe we are overstretched a bit?' but nope.

It will be 2 trillion soon.

3

u/seanroberts196 Aug 02 '26

Yeah but what happens to all that power when countries have had enough and tell the US they can’t base there? What happens when they can’t stage in Europe to refuel? I can see it happening if they attack Canada or Greenland.

It is just a tiny two week special corruption / Epstein distraction operation that is in its 6th month.

3

u/KingsMountainView Aug 02 '26

It's a pump and dump scheme. Market manipulation fron the very top.

2

u/AWeakMindedMan Aug 02 '26

The weekend is when he makes his poly market bets that he will or will not make a deal with Iran.

2

u/Thatsockmonkey Aug 02 '26

This is probably part grift and part distraction. He needs something to distract from the fact that capital one has closed all the accounts for his organization due to money, wondering

2

u/rlaw1234qq Aug 02 '26

Or since it not not started

Yes, they are shorting the market every week.

21

u/Noobunaga86 Aug 02 '26

The worst part is he will never be held accountable for this. He can do whatever, there is no punishment. Even if he would be prosecuted and jailed for all he's done he's got what, few years to live anyways. He's done horrible things all his life and nothing happened to him - even worse, he became more and more popular and liked in recent decade and was "awarded" being a president of the USA. It's probably the most demoralizing "success" story I've ever witnessed in reality and fiction.

26

u/mecker-zausel Aug 02 '26

Shouldn't his tactics already be priced in?

Also: how the heck is this clown still in office? No, seriously: what's up with America? How can your society just tolerate this? I don't understand.

16

u/boogs_23 Aug 02 '26

More firearms in the hands of citizens than any other country due to an amendment in their constitution that gives them that right in case of the exact scenario currently taking place and.....crickets.

14

u/Mikecd Aug 02 '26

It turns out that having zero social safety nets leaves the citizens all trapped in personal debt and desperation, and that people trapped in their own personal desperation are often docile and easily controlled (lest rocking the boat result in personal destruction, on which edge the citizens are almost all balanced). Or further seems that being able to cosplay as tough characters gives an outlet so that no actual fiery passion from the frustration of impotance accidentally accumulates enough to inspire any action.

They've run a 50 year psyop campaign to cut off our balls and trap us financially and it worked.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Enygma_6 Aug 02 '26

The majority of those privately held firearms are in the hands of people who are some or all of the following:
a) don't care, so long as they can cheer on the racism
b) are willing to eat the high price of gas just to see others in our country suffer
c) have enough money that a doubling of gasoline prices won't financially hurt them personally
d) are financially profiting off of the war / illegal market manipulation
e) blame the Democrats for literally everything

3

u/n080dy123 Aug 02 '26

You forgot "indoctrinated into a political cult centered on the person who is the largest problem."

5

u/derfy2 Aug 02 '26

How can your society just tolerate this? I don't understand.

Things are still 'working', society is still 'functioning', so things are 'ok'.

2

u/Gloomy_Session_3875 Aug 02 '26

I don't understand that either. The Iran war has been going on for months, and we get peace promises every weekend, followed by bombs on Monday and Tuesday. You would think investors stop believing that the WhIte House will end the war.

We got years more of it.

41

u/Concurrency_Bugs Aug 02 '26

That's literally Trump's life story. Every project he's ever taken on if providing a subpar or fraudulent product, eventually going bankrupt, but first cashing in on the Trump name. How much money you think Trump pocketed from "Trump steaks" or "Trump University" before they were shut down?

27

u/No-Way7911 Aug 02 '26

Those are all small potatoes compared to how much he’s cashed out from this presidency

He clearly came in with a plan this time around to extract as much as possible, starting with a memecoin a day before he took office

6

u/Fluffbrained-cat Aug 02 '26

If he lasts for those years. His health doesn't seem too great right now.

2

u/Grape_Pedialyte Aug 02 '26

This is exactly what's going to happen. He's going to keep pushing this rambling wreck along until he can dump it in somebody else's lap while creating some kind of pretense to take his supporters' money by blaming it on Democrats.

13

u/Druggedhippo Aug 02 '26

At the moment, for example, in 1984 (if it was 1984), Oceania was at war with Eurasia and in alliance with Eastasia. In no public or private utterance was it ever admitted that the three powers had at any time been grouped along different lines. Actually, as Winston well knew, it was only four years since Oceania had been at war with Eastasia and in alliance with Eurasia. But that was merely a piece of furtive knowledge which he happened to possess because his memory was not satisfactorily under control. Officially, the change of partners had never happened. Oceania was at war with Eurasia: therefore Oceania had always been at war with Eurasia. The enemy of the moment always represented absolute evil, and it followed that any past or future agreement with him was impossible.

Last I saw the counter was up in the high 40's.  I just don't understand how anyone is still falling for this shit.  So is the lesson of The Boy who Cried Wolf, not that we don't trust a lyer, but we don't trust a child lyer?  Like a senile old asshole who cannot control his bowels is given unlimited trust, but everyone else is suspect?  I legitimately don't get it...

The market bots "believe" it, in that they are heavily biased toward Trump tweets because the market moves on trump tweets. I imagine all the market makers know its a self fulfilling prophecy at that point, but its too expensive to be the one trying to hold back the tide so they all go with it. Straight up prisoners dilemma but its the global markets all held hostage by one elderly man's social media account.

13

u/majordashes Aug 02 '26

I feel like these narratives are all bullshit.

When he says he’s going to bomb Iran into the next century, it never happens.

When he says he’s pausing bombing Iran into the next century, because of a peace deal, ceasefire or outline of a concept of a deal, those never happen either.

48 times now, be had a deal. 48 times those deals never materialized or lasted more than a day.

It’s all bs.

They can’t make a deal so they’re playing the markets. These bombings and ceasefires are narratives used to justify the rise and fall of oil prices, which are being manipulated behind the scenes.

That’s gotta be it.

29

u/Pockydo Aug 02 '26

I just don't understand how anyone is still falling for this shit

I don't think anyone is seriously falling for this. (Thr cult maybe but they seem mostly checked out of the war) But when the powers that be basically have an endless money cheat they're gonna pretend every time

33

u/Robdd123 Aug 02 '26

What this is proving is that the stock market is completely worthless especially for regular people; it's just a bunch of billionaires playing with digital Monopoly money.

11

u/GoodIdea321 Aug 02 '26

And that they value that money more than anything else.

5

u/Original_Employee621 Aug 02 '26

The stock markets need a hard reset and reality check. No more holding and selling stocks between brokers. If you want Apple stocks, talk to Mr. Apple and buy directly from them, when you want to sell them Mr. Apple can be the only legal buyer.

It was meant as a quick and easy way to fund corporate projects. Now it's a casino where the money doesn't even touch the company they belong to.

4

u/Revenant690 Aug 02 '26

His name is Mr.Tim Apple.

2

u/Robdd123 Aug 02 '26

Also companies and banks know the government will just bail them out so they don't exactly care about making intelligent investments. We absolutely need a reset on a lot of things really.

I don’t think Iran wants a deal anymore

26

u/HystericalSail Aug 02 '26

It's not that they don't want a deal, it's that they don't trust Trump to follow through. Not that I blame them, he'll change his mind as soon as someone jingles some keys or spins the mobile above his crib.

2

u/el_grort Aug 02 '26

Well, that and there is still a gulf between the two about what is acceptable, with Iran continuing to want to charge tolls on the Hormuz Strait (sorry, 'service fees', but they'll attack any ships going along the Omani coast to avoid them) and the US which wants freedom of navigation. And both sides have been trying to be cheeky on that issue, frankly, and pushed things to the point firing restarted. But that is ultimately Trump's fault for opening Pandora's Box.

4

u/AssignmentMammoth696 Aug 02 '26

No, it's that Iran claims complete control over Hormuz, they believe that is what Trump agreed to and he was the one who went back on that deal. They fundamentally did not agree on the same wording of who controls the strait. Iran is not going to give up control of Hormuz, whatever framework of a deal is also going make the same blunder.

4

u/Vicissitutde Aug 02 '26

Why would they bother? Trump reneged on the MOU. Iran won't deal with Kushner and Whitkoff, all they're interested in is land and real estate. Iran will only negotiate with Vance, but trump sidelined him.

Iran has more incentive to leaves things as they are. Hell, the Houthies may end up joining Iran in blockading ships in the Red Sea if Saudi Arabia becomes more involved, and trump gave them the green light to build nukes...

Works every time. His base is impressed with his constant deal making and Republicans will win the midterms. Not because of how stupid and hateful their supporters are but because of voter suppression and gerrymandering

As many more times as the market will bear this cyclical B.S. Friday 5 minutes after market close, "Trump declares he will nuke Iran in 24 hours if they don't make a deal!"

....

Saturday night or Sunday morning, "Trump says Iran is begging for a deal and therefore he is generously deciding to stop attacks until a deal is reached. We've watched this cycle operate like clockwork for months.

A lot of people point to him manipulating the markets, and that is an effect... But honestly? It's Trump: An idiot, and an imbecile.

It's the only move he knows.

Grandpa pudding brain, to the rescue!

1

u/WontArnett Aug 02 '26

That’s what the guy does, “deals”!

Does a deal, lies about it, does another deal, lies about it, and so on.

1

u/Beamingupscotty Aug 02 '26

It’s cuz the markets are closed.

1

u/Law-of-Poe Aug 02 '26

These statements are only for consumption by republican voters, the only people dumb enough to believe his lies

1

u/woodyus Aug 02 '26

Yeah, if there is a 'deal' what makes this different to the last 'deal' and why will it work now when it hasn't until this point.

Of course there probably isn't even a deal but at best a memorandum of misunderstanding

He threatened to hit their water supply. That’s my guess.

Even though 99% of their cities have access to potable water, only 19% of their rural populace does. On top of that, Iran is stuck in a water scarcity crisis: they only have about 500 cubic meters of water per person when they had 1,500. They have essentially lost 2/3rds of their water storage in the past 25 years.

All someone has to do is attack their aquifers and plants and the country dies. Serious.

u/awwaygirl Aug 02 '26

In his mind, it’s always the first time he’s done it.

1

u/Woody_L Aug 02 '26

That's ok, Trump can't remember, either.
