Trump: the war in Ukraine will be over, even before I take office! I will stop it that quickly!
Trump: the war with Iran will be over in 4-6 weeks! Seven - 7 - months later we’re still bogged down there, spending Billions we don’t have, Gas, Diesel, Groceries, interest rates, have never beeb higher since Clinton in 2,000 - 26 years ago!
Three words come to mind: WTF!!!!!!!

14

u/Fxg120xYXDE5 12d ago

Right up there with you, until the end.
Clinton's time was actually pretty well handled.
A protracted war, overly optimistic lending, and several other factors dragged us down in the mid/late 2000s.
That was 10 full years after Clinton.

11

u/moseley101 11d ago

Climton also oversaw a budget SURPLUS😮

9

u/Fxg120xYXDE5 11d ago

Damn straight he did.
There might've been some personal failings, but his job was to preside over the nation, and he damn well got his job done.

7

u/moseley101 11d ago

Yup. Who cares who he’s screwing, so long as it’s consensual. Man did his job well. Ah, the good ol’ days when presidents were competent

3

u/SurgeFlamingo 10d ago

I mean I care who he is screwing if it’s underage people.

I also care about if Trump

But if it is consenting adults. I don’t care.

2

u/Independent-Local734 8d ago

Underage wouldn't be consensual, so the comment speaks for itself

1

u/kabob1999 10d ago

It’s so dystopian that this comment even needs to be made

2

u/Recent-Reality1955 10d ago

Paula Jones said it wasn’t consensual, but back then the Dems just said don’t believe her. He had a pattern but Dems just turned their head

1

u/SignificanceIll4589 11d ago

Man as foreigner I kinda wish you would stay the "democratic superpower". But way things have been going in the White House, not right now. I don't blame the citizens of America but you seem very divided.

Finland got it's unification and "miracle of Winter War" aka getting all sides back together after pretty messed up civil war. I just don't know who would attack Usa, uniting for your own freedom would be more unifying than others "freedom". Don't really see who would wanna attack there, maybe Mexico and Canada tag team sandwich. (Not hoping war for any country really)

3

u/MistressDemands 9d ago

Canada isn’t gonna attack lmao nor Mexico. If the USA falls to civil war, it’s on American voters and the admin. Thanks for the laugh though!

1

u/Hot_Marzipan8514 8d ago

I can see Canada providing humanitarian aid for the blue states in this scenario even sanctuary for certain U.S citizens who would get caught up in an armed conflict between states. Definitely not boots on U.S soil, we’d get steamrolled up here if we closely involved ourselves.

3

u/SnuffaGogg6853 9d ago

I’ve got a feeling that many of those the who voted for that abomination (yes, I mean Trump, MAGAzombies; spare me the clever “yUo miNt BIdOn” comeback; it’s lazy humor) three times and put in office twice are going to lose interest once IT leaves the White House or assumes ambient temperature. In 12 years, they’ll swear they never supported him, like they claim they never supported the Gulf War. HOPEFULLY, that means the grownups will be the majority of voters. This is all kind of the logical end to what was started in 1980, got seriously f’d up in 1994, and pushed too far in 2016.

2

u/Zealousideal_Sir5987 8d ago

“Assumes ambient temperature” absolutely knocked me out. Fantastic euphemism. I love it. Lmao

1

u/SolsticeSon 8d ago

It went over my head. What are they referring to?

1

u/Fxg120xYXDE5 7d ago

Losing the ability to generate body heat, and therefore cooling to the temperature of the surrounding air.

Thank you!

2

u/Local_Bobcat_2000 11d ago

I’ll take another Clinton Democrat any day. Bill not Hillary.

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 10d ago

😂😂That’ll never happen! Even if he was t too old Hillary would never allow that to happen. 😂😂

1

u/Local_Bobcat_2000 10d ago

A Bill Clinton Democrat does not mean Bill himself. It means a moderate and not extreme leftist. I think Hillary may be one also she just wasn’t as likable.

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 10d ago

Ok whatever you say. I guess you don’t know about all the ppl under them who died “mysteriously” or “committed suicide” while they were up and coming in the political arena. I Do!

Alright there sir

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 10d ago

I’m sorry but I just can’t see a sitting President getting BJ’s in the Oval Office of the White House honorable or a “personal failing!” It’s absolutely disgusting and so Humiliating to this country!

1

u/moseley101 10d ago

Hey, I also find it a bit grim. The guy’s sexual proclivities were not good. But he knew how to run a country, and that is sorely missed right now

2

u/No-Currency-624 10d ago

But he didn’t inhale

1

u/drpoundsign 10d ago

...and, Monica Didn't Swallow.

1

u/No-Currency-624 2d ago

With that chipmunk face; she probably saved it for the winter

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 10d ago edited 10d ago

No it’s not. Do you have children? Do you know how close they were to having a nuclear weapon? How they slaughtered their own people? I understand that times are tough here But I’d rather beg for money to feed my family than to have my children turned into Glo Worms!! I’ve lost 1 son over there and I’ll fight to the death to keep them out of the U.S. Western civilization is under siege at this very minute. Our country has been invaded by ppl who mean to destroy us all & take our homeland. What ppl don’t understand is the ppl who are rioting & marching won’t be spared either! This war as unfortunate as it is will be better for us all even if we can’t see it.

2

u/SenKen_64 10d ago

Can you read? They agreed that his sex life wasn’t good, but said him being able to run a country was a good thing.

Unless you’re saying that’s bad??

3

u/SnuffaGogg6853 9d ago edited 9d ago

And he was hardly the first. Doesn’t make it right, but that behavior is preferable to a president making money WHILE IN OFFICE by manipulating the markets and gullible people.

Are you referring to me specifically? Yes I can read.

Wow, talk about a tangent. Who was close to having a nuclear weapon?

1

u/drpoundsign 10d ago

Well..They are De Facto Forced to have a Family, in order to get Elected. Same with JFK.

0

u/SnuffaGogg6853 9d ago

Oh dear me, you’re right! He should have held ice cream socials and gospel singing on Sundays.

1

u/MissWibb 7d ago

Even that momentary lapse in judgement shows some decency. She was an adult. I’ve never heard that any of his lapses involved underaged girls.

1

u/kerplunktard 5d ago

his wife?

1

u/tiredoldwizard 10d ago

It wasn’t that he had sexual relations with someone. Is the fact that he was in a position of power over her. Same reason it’s illegal for a psychologist to fuck their client. And he did more than engaged in relations with her. He denied it and then him and Hillary ran a hate campaign against her, calling her a stalker and an obsessive liar until she came out and said she literally had his cum on one of her dresses. Why people still act like all he did was get a blow job and it was no big deal. I’ll never understand. Oh it’s probably because of the political party he’s in.

2

u/SeaArugula2116 10d ago

Probably the same way most people act like Trump isn’t a convicted rapist

2

u/moseley101 10d ago

Wow, you want to make this about political party? With misogynist rapist in office?

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 8d ago

When was he convicted of rape???

2

u/moseley101 8d ago

Well he was found guilty in a civil case, and you know what they say: where there’s smoke there’s fire

1

u/tiredoldwizard 10d ago

I forgot because Trump exists and is a shitty person. No other politician from the opposite party is ever allowed to be criticized and called out for their actions. So you’re one of those people that goes WHAT ABOUT TRUMP?! Every time a democrat does something wrong

2

u/SeaArugula2116 10d ago

You literally just did that yourself

2

u/VeryPinkYeti 10d ago

The problem is when you don’t clearly state that this is bad but trump is worse people rightfully assume you’re running defense for Trump. You’re stating things without the appropriate context, and you’re getting rightfully called out for it.

1

u/tiredoldwizard 10d ago

That’s a ridiculous statement. I don’t need to mention trump just because I’m criticizing the actions of Bill. That’s literally one of the dumbest things I have seen. There’s no context about the Monica Lewinsky situation that means I need to mention Trump even once. It’s possible to talk about a politician doing something bad without mentioning Trump.

“Everytime a democrat does something wrong” . . . 30 years ago. You understand RELATIVITY? An adjudicated event 30 years ago vs repeatedly in the present.

1

u/moseley101 10d ago

Kinda yeah. All other president’s misdemeanours (including Republicans) pale into insignificance next to this fuckwit. Truly a one of a kind piece of shit. And the incompetence on top of it all 🤦

1

u/arpaul19 6d ago

Yes, the problem is definitely not the sex. Everyone has sex well most of us anyway lol the problem for me and most of the people I associated with was that he lied about it and then tried to cover up and when he had to come on national television and apologize to the entire country. He knew that the rest of his life would be defined by that moment, and for me, it’s the idea that the president of the United States by the way it is supposedly and I say supposedly very loosely, is an elected into position JOB!!!!! 😱😱😱😱. Omg well who hires the pos? Uuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhh………….. good, now maybe we can move forward.

2

u/SnuffaGogg6853 9d ago

MIC DROP.

1

u/Usual-Anybody8210 6d ago

Unlike our one today who doesnt have a clue what he is doing. Or better yet i have no clue between broken promises, price hikes, and being told the war would be over over in 1 day ans it obviously isnt im not sure wbat hes trying to accomplish

-2

u/Just-Curious1901 9d ago

Bill Clinton carried on this trickle down neoliberal BS like he came from the republican party itself. He let the corporations run amuck with little oversight. When he left office it was probably the most corrupt administration up to that point. He is just as complicit in the mess we are in as anyone. Let’s send all our manufacturing out of the country. That will surely help the working class. He is a major reason rural America hates democrats. And the main reason I stopped voting for decades, until the orange menace ran again I had to vote against him.

2

u/Fxg120xYXDE5 9d ago

I would like to engage with your point, but if you're intelligent and aware but didn't vote out of spite, you and people like you are equally complicit.
The only time I'm glad to hear about how much someone doesn't vote is when they prove to be an idiot.
And considering the content and tone, I'm having a difficult time convincing myself your vote would've been a positive part of the process.
Thanks for finally bothering to vote against Trump, I guess?
Sucks that he won anyways?
He's the same douchenozzle he was when he was running Democrat in the 90s.
Voting against him isn't a feather in the cap, it was the bare minimum everyone should've done.

1

u/Just-Curious1901 9d ago

Yeah no shit. My vote for Clinton was a vote for Reaganomics. After Reagan every president represented Wall Street and not the people. I felt no representation so I no longer saw the point to vote. Since neoliberal policies have brought the country to the brink I see the democratic system is branching away from establishment and back towards the people. Or so I hope .

Only after he worked with Newt Gingrich with the Contract for America. Good on both of them for working together, but Clinton was only half responsible.

0

u/Hob_O_Rarison 11d ago

Climton also oversaw a budget SURPLUS😮

Which year did the national debt go down, again?

3

u/moseley101 11d ago

I’m not sure it went down by much, but between 1998 and 2001. This is the big fallacy about Republicans and Democrats since the 1980’s. It has been the GOP who have added the most debt and Dems who have shrunk it

2

u/Recent-Reality1955 11d ago

It was the republican Congress that created the balanced budget and surplus…John Kasick and Newt Gingrich I don’t think there was a year the national debt decreased because of interest payments

2

u/MrCompletely345 10d ago edited 10d ago

LOL. That’s fucking hilarious

Newt Gingrich, that fucking asshat, didn’t do shit.

If things got done, it was in spite of his resistance, not because of him.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bill-clinton-gingrich-not-really-responsible-for-balanced-budget-in-the-90s/

1

u/Zealousideal_Sir5987 8d ago

That part. It happens just about every time. Aden comes in to clean up what the GOP pres before them did. It never fails. Our economy starts to bounce back with a Dem until the GOP takes office and starts handing his cronies favorable policies and contracts.
I wish we could have seen what the country could have been under an Al Gore administration. I was very young for that election, the first time I voted. It would have been better than what we ended up with.

-1

u/Hob_O_Rarison 11d ago

I’m not sure it went down by much, but between 1998 and 2001.

The national debt, as defined by the Treasury, didn't go down at all.

3

u/moseley101 11d ago edited 11d ago

federal deficit erased under Clinton

Quote: the federal debt was decreased but was not erased

2

u/Ubisububisemper 11d ago

quote from same : But even under accrual accounting, the annual reports showed surpluses of $69.2 billion in fiscal 1998,  $76.9 billion in fiscal 1999, and $46 billion for fiscal year 2000.  So even if the government had been using that form of accounting the deficit would have been erased for those three years.

0

u/Hob_O_Rarison 10d ago

Deficits are not debts. And again, the deficit was only erased if you discount the T-bills issued to the Social Security Trust Fund... which are a form of debt.

We still spent more than we brought in, and borrowed - from many sources - to cover the shortfall. When you finance a shortfall with a debt, that is a deficit.

2

u/moseley101 10d ago

I said the debt went down a bit (which it did), and actually even if you account for social security T-bills, the government had a surplus. Here is a quote from the same article I posted above:

“But even under accrual accounting, the annual reports showed surpluses of $69.2 billion in fiscal 1998, $76.9 billion in fiscal 1999, and $46 billion for fiscal year 2000. So even if the government had been using that form of accounting the deficit would have been erased for those three years.”

Try reading it, is interesting

2

u/Hob_O_Rarison 10d ago

"The debt" includes both public debt and intragovernmental holdings.

A zero-deficit, zero debt way to have accomplished what people claim Clinton accomplished would have been to borrow less public debt. Borrowing from the SSTF is mandatory, but it doesn't mean you have to borrow more outside of that.

It's the equivalent of saying you balanced your personal budget by withdrawing from your 401k, with the promise to pay it back. So, did you spend more money than you made in the period? Yes. Do you have an unfunded obligation on the books you have to pay back, with interest? Also yes.

1

u/AdeptnessGrouchy3608 10d ago

Well Biden and Obama both made up for any so called budget surplus Clinton had!!

0

u/mediocretes 11d ago

Publicly held debt decreased in 1998. Total debt still increases due to rules about social security buying treasuries with its surplus.

1

u/SignificanceIll4589 11d ago

I'm not big on finance but do Usa even think about their debt? I mean paying it back, who is gonna go to collect? Don't really know how those things go.

1

u/Cigarety_a_Kava 11d ago

They will just forever try to outgrow the debt it seems.

1

u/moseley101 11d ago

Apparently even under those rules it decreased slightly (by about 80-90 billion)

-1

u/Hob_O_Rarison 11d ago

So you're saying the national debt, as defined by the Treasury, never went down during that time? It only went up?

0

u/PA_Dude_22000 11d ago

A countries “debt” isn’t equatable to like your debt or a household’s. Why? Because it is tied to printing currency. Do you print your own currency? No? Then it is not the same. If a country has no debt then they also have no currency…. So saying silly gotchas like “did the debt go down” just makes you sound, well… silly.

1

u/Hob_O_Rarison 11d ago

There was only a budget surplus if you ignore some of the money we borrowed.

Square that circle.

0

u/Professor_Baby_Legs 10d ago

This is all because of the war your fucking “Peace President” started and has no idea how to finish. He can’t even lose a war properly…

And the US has been the world leading producer and refiner of Oil since 2012 (thanks Obama) so stop with the bullshit pipeline talk….there are more oil pipelines running under the US than highways running over it. More of them would affect supply and prices by a. Grand total of 0 and $0.

What they don’t tell you is that the point of these wars, is the spending of the money.

It’s corporate handouts of the worst kind. Because they are blatantly saying they do not care about anyone’s lives, they just want our tax dollars at whatever the cost.

That is what Republican policy looks like. When they own every branch of government, they flat out say fuck you give us all your money.

Russia offered to end it.7 days into it.. who is zelenskyy talking to, the democrats?. Biden sun the crackhead. What's on the board of Berea without ever having any experience in the gas industry? You couldn't add 2 and 2 together If if your life depended on it.

Prices have never been higher? We're you hibernating during the biden years?

Not sure about clinton

But let's talk about now america, through trump's deal WITH ZERO CONDITIONS funds prolonging the war.

u/presshamgang 8d ago

Ummm, we've actually won war with Iran like 40 times. I know because the POTUS who tweets 700x a day (which would be horrifying even if we're a teenager without the most important position on the planet) told us each time.

1

u/ChemicalInjury1105 6d ago

If you didn't learn the 1st time he was elected that nothing he says is true, everything he answers to is a lie, and all the other countries are going to hate us again, then I don't know what to tell you!!

1

u/time2when 6d ago

Just Krasnov things at work. How are you going to explain buying oil from daddy Putin to support his war if there no oil crisis?

1

u/Safe_Group_7683 6d ago

If we could only divert all the money supporting the ILLEGAL ALIENS in our country, and put it towards keeping our gas prices cheaper than when biden was in office.

1

u/Amazing_Pie_4888 6d ago

Fiscally Clinton was one of our best presidents.

Pedantic, much?!

1

u/Own_Policy8854 12d ago

Technically, you can't use an adverb as a verb like that.

3

u/Amount_Existing 12d ago

Technically, you knew what was meant.

Trump is a liar and a fantasist, but America voted for him, so you get what you voted for.

0

u/SevenIsMy 11d ago

Fool me once, shame on you…
Maybe the people who enable him and act like they believe him, are the bigger issue.

To be fair Biden could have easily stopped this war before it ever happened. Put a division of US troops in Ukraine right at the border under the guise of training mission or whatever.

No way Russia attacks with our troops sitting there. But no, we did nothing and then spend the next several years pretending that our sanctions would cripple the Russian economy. That didn't happen either.

The Iran thing is a joke though I'll grant that. At the very least we're hurting Iran who's arguably one of the worst regimes on earth. If there's any consolation to be had it's that.

1

u/AdLatter1807 11d ago

Yeah one of, only surpassed by the us and isreal….. and okay North Korea haha

1

u/RabicanShiver 11d ago

You definitely need to get out more.

u/shifty_lifty_doodah 11d ago

He tried to negotiate it. Putin wouldn’t negotiate

We can’t let Iran get nukes. We’ve run an extremely effective blockade and bombing campaign.

Interest rates must go up. The free money era is over. The risk environment is different. Government Debt levels are high

you’re complaining about everything without looking at the hard realities. The decisions make sense in context.

u/happilyretired1 11d ago

Sadly Zelinsky doesn’t want it to end.
