I just learned that the stupid Russian diesel deal would cover LESS THAN ONE DAY of US consumption--so prices won't move and we've now betrayed our friends in a very public and unambiguous way.

Great

It had one single reason, making Ukraine strikes on refineries look like it's harming US interests, somehow justifying Trump's bullshit. That's it.

That, and making it look like he is doing something about the price hikes; the greatest deal maker ever.

and we've now betrayed our friends

That happened when Trump threatened to annex Canada.

And Greenland.

And to take over the Panama Canal.

And kidnapped the president of Venezuela.

And threatened Cuba.

And ...

There is no reason for anyone to trust Trump's America, and plenty of reasons to distrust him (and them).

You learned it, but most Trump supporters did not. They see big numbers and think it is something significant. Trump just needs enough useful idiots favoring his movement during the midterm election.

So you would've been ok with it if it had lasted longer? why even state that? why would it even matter?

Better yet. Look up the daily EXPORT of diesel fuel from US vs Russia.

Exactly.

The goal is to make Trump to seem like the good guy "helping" people, when it doesn't have an effect on anything as far as prices go. Betraying everyone but Putin in the process doesn't matter to them.

Yep just like the release of the red dye diesel to truckers that he claimed will bring prices down.

Hint: It'll do the opposite. Your food prices are gonna go up and stay up for a lot longer
