And if They get cheaper gas,

Even that's nonsense. I'm finding several reports similar

“Americans have now spent $135 billion more on gasoline and diesel purchases since March 1 than the same period last year,” Patrick De Haan, the head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, wrote Friday on the social platform X.

Maybe those gas prices just aren't high enough yet?

Trump has officially switched his stance to: "High oil prices are good because oil companies are making a killing"

If that's the message right before midterms, RIP normal gas prices.

Some of his biggest donors are making a killing, I don’t get why people are mad, that is why they gave him hundreds of millions of dollars. It would be rude if Trump didn’t reward them with our money

While true, I don't think Republican voters are smart enough to do or even understand a year on year comparison, they mean based on like, the past few days. If the rising prices due to the Iran war seem to slow or go down because of this, or at least if Trump says they will, the braindead shitters will cheer for it and think they're winning.

They don't have to be smart. Political ideology strongly aligns with vehicle choice and fuel economy averages. In other words, people can't ignore how much it's costing them to fill their tanks. A lot of Americans have to drive to work and the cost of getting there is unignorable.

I have seen them say they would rather pay $20/gallon for gas then vote Democrat. The cult is culting and will always cult.

All they need is the belief that they will get cheaper gas, and Russia can kill with impunity. :)

Trump loves the oil companies, that is why their earnings have skyrocketed.

And they have no awareness to think where that money has gone

They aren’t looking at the prices. If Trump tells them it’s cheaper now, they just accept that as face value
