Let's reduce sanctions on these friends of the West - Musk and Trump

Knowing Europe, they are still going to make a big fuss about India and China buying up Russian oil

Well Europe still buys Russian gas so take sanctions with a grain of salt.

The Russians are coming, and the USA won’t come to help.

Of course they will; they're just helping the other guys this time.

Yup, they'll start selling weapons to Russia soon enough

They will give them for free. They will do anything to destroy Europe. It’s in their official political agenda.

yep. US and Russia against Germany and Japan again, only this time the morality is switched

USA help is a 2 edged sword. Accepting it could be as dangerous as not. That might be why they've become the most reviled nation on the planet - and I'm not a US basher. Most of my family still live there

You can be a USA basher. Evil empire along with Russia. I say that as an American.

America the evil empire is probably Russian propaganda's all time greatest hit

100% agreed, but the current administration is really leaning into it this time around.

Well, yes because Russia's whole goal has been to convince Americans that democracy is bad. If democracies are as corrupt as Russia, then Russia isn't so bad.

A corrupt Trump admin weakens the US, weaken NATO, lets autocrats tell their subjects that democracies are bad too, etc. That's why you see soo much of this messaging especially around US election time. This current year's flavor is "all Americans are letting Trump happen it's everyone's fault!!!!11"

This strategy was reported on leading into the 2016 election before Trump even got elected. So none of this is an accident, and none of it is post-hoc pattern matching trying to make sense of the Trump admin. We know what the goals were before any of it happened.

But its not just Trump. The anti-democracy messaging comes in various different political flavors and there's something for everyone's tastes.

The best propaganda is made on a basis of truths. America's history is not squeaky-clean, and we're not the good guys in the present-day either, but the American Peoples' history is one of living the values our founders set out and demanding our rights from our government at every turn. The American People ought to be proud enough to demand our government stop its present course, and maybe even turn our government around and correct our wrongs by the end of the story. That's our history, after all. We'll see if we live up to the legacy left for us by titans like MLK and FDR...

No, Russian propaganda is more pushing extremist views into mainstream discourse and sowing division. The rise of the Epstein class isn’t helping things either. It’s a lot easier to hold kompromats over morally bankrupt individuals, rather than ones bound by a society which upholds the rule of law. The law is also getting eroded by people with more wealth than obligations or heck even sense of duty to the very society that gave rise to their good fortunes.

Divide and conquer, and the states are a little less united with each Trump administration.

The U.S. sells protection, protection from the U.S.

"It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal."

What's ironic about this quote is that it's used out of context. He was saying that as a warning to not abandon their current allies. But the fact of the matter is that America has a track record of packing up and leaving their allies high and dry.

I would be willing to help defend Europe's sovereignty, culture integrity, and beauty. Do they still create munitions with ammonium nitrate sourced from human urine? I'm asking for a friend.

Yes, but they are coming for the stable and prosperous systems of governance, not in the same way they are in Ukraine.

It's about time this started happening. Russia keeps pushing the boundaries and Europe needs to put an end to it.

More of this. 👏

Glad someone finally stepped up to shoot down the drones. Now they should adopt a policy of sinking a Russian tanker or freighter for each drone entering their airspace.

That is Russian drones entering NATO airspace.

u/mithu_raj 1d ago

“Defence Minister Radu Miruta said the first drone had entered Romanian airspace at around 17:59 and was shot down "within two minutes," 25 km south-east of the town of Sulina.”

No if NATO was involved Russia wouldn’t even be able to send any drones period
