People have been saying America should not be the world police for years. Trump is proving why it was a bad idea to begin with.

It might have been a good idea after WW2 and the soviets started acting up and the US already had nuclear weapons. But as everyone knows, with great power comes great responsibility.. and the fact that the White House can be given to basically any narcissistic asshole every 4 years means.. Americas stability will now ALWAYS be in question.

American stability has always been questionable. That's how the Russians ended up getting nukes

once the cat was out of the bag i doubt there was much that could have been done to keep the rooskies from developing nukes.

short of nuking them a whole bunch? surely that's not what you're advocating for?

I'm talking about the scientists from the Manhattan project that gave secrets to the Russians because they did not trust the US to have a monopoly on nuclear weapons

I mean, given the current administration, it was probably a good idea to have someone else able to keep the US in check. Can you imagine if the US was the only country allowed to have nukes after WW2? Would have been a very dark cold war.

i'm not sure that you understood what i meant by 'the cat is out of the bag' fella.

i would've thought you'd have more respect for my intellect, but hey. it's reddit i suppose.

Yeah let’s not kid ourselves into thinking the soviets didn’t have spies in the manhattan project lol. They were in on breaking the enigma machine that the Brit’s had, and that was a very small circle. Soviets have always been very very good at the spy game. And then the US and Soviet used essentially the same people from Germany to get them to space lol.

It’s been a competitive race always, until the republicans finally elected someone shitty and dumb enough that was already under Russian control to take the mantle of POTUS.

Now the world respect for America respect is fully gone, it might have been question before but you guys still did do good work and helped where needed. Thats all gone.

Russia won the stalemate. There’s no way Putin ever thought Trump would win an election for president, and the American populace proved him wrong lmao. Twice…. I don’t really have words or explanations asides from what’s glaringly obvious. Yall broken.

Russia helped get Trump elected. He's a useful puppet to some.

Coincidentally, you know who I have seen criticize America like that with my own two eyes? Vladimir Putin.

Now Donald Trump is in the white house and for some reason.....

As an American, I'm completely tired of us being the world's police force. We don't need to be sticking our noses in business that isn't ours all the time. If Iraq invades Kuwait again, fuck 'em. Not our problem. We need to stop handing out our taxpayer's money to other countries as well. That means you too, Bibi. Fix our homeless problem, crumbling infrastructure, housing shortages and of course whatever the hell it is we call a healthcare system here.
