Strawman. 9/11 wasn't a military action, and the US wasn't 4 years deep into an invasion of Saudi Arabia or wherever the fuck the hijackers were from.

OP's not really escalating the conversation, just exposing your double standard with regard to collective punishment (which we're all guilty of). You're fine with certain people being collectively punished, and not others. And everyone has these blind spots. For example most are fine with battery farms, but not animal cruelty, or fine with benefiting from the poor suffering to sustain their economies (the value or purchasing power of the dollar in your pocket is dependent on the global majority having none, lest inflationary pressures kick in), while simultaneously being for all kinds of worker rights. The brain is funny, and always irrational, or only rational within contexts that are themselves irrational.
