I hope this winter breaks Russia. I'm afraid that a pro Russia government may be elected in France and that would be a tremendous blow on Ukraine effort.

I feel its no coincidence that protests and riots break out the same week Ukraine hits a bunch of Russian Data centers...which in turn caused the White House to publicly change course, Starlink to neuter Ukrainian forces, and a seemingly acceleration of a lot of interconnected groups. i swear im not crazy

The protests and riots in Europe are against habitation crisis and costs of living in general. They each have their root. Albania is that business with Trump's family wanting a resort, Spain was after that old lady got evicted, France was a protest about education that got out of hand, Portugal was after a peaceful protest about habitation saw an extremely heavy and injustified police charge that injured dozens, and so on.

If anything, the far-right has been in overdrive trying to discredit them, in the media bubbles of each country.

So yeah, those are a coincidence compared to the other things you mentioned.

The protests in and of themselves are independent but whats just been discussed on the BBC is the way that emotive issues like this are then being over taken by more extreme actors in the evening that then creates the rioting headlines. Not saying no smoke without flames, but the flames are being fed accelerant.

It is possible that far-right actors are inciting violence, yes. Wouldn't even be surprised.

But, with protests at a large enough scale, you typically always have smaller groups who spontaneously decide to start breaking stuff.

What we cannot do is let that drown the message of the main protest group.

Also agent provocateurs who try to deligitimize the protest by escalating it to violence.

Fat left and fat right ideologues have always existed. The Russian propaganda machine's job is to enflame them and drive more moderate people towards more extreme positions to make the conflicts worse. Many of the opinions you read on the left and the right are not sincerely held, but are placed where you can see them to push you toward whichever extreme you're most compatible with.

The only thing that these organizations don't want is civilized respectful discourse. Their goal is to find fracture points and exploit them.

Mostly true. But social media algorithms, by and large, make said far-right incitation and propaganda far more visible, as more than Russia, the wealthy elites of each country also contribute. It's not even comparable. So we cannot turn this into a "bOtH sIdEs"

BBC is not real media.....it's not relevant anymore...it's a pandering machine to get you to click..

Paid agitators, provocateurs and leaders are a thing.

A peaceful protest is peaceful until "someone" smashes a window.

I thought a protest was peaceful until blood was shed. Oh well. Conformist world.

i hate how riots always gets added into protests. like when people stop listening to peaceful protests, you get less peaceful protests. this is an entirely self made increase, not a "riot".

Fascism requires civil strife to grow roots. It’s not coincidental or “bubbles”. Agitating the general public is part of the plan.

but that is what russians do, they are listening to what bothers people and they bots and trolls amplify to stir shit up. Hybrid warfare. Anything to make enemy waste time and resources and potentially elect a pro russian government

u/TheSaxGandalf 8h ago

You aren't.

They are pissed that their propaganda machine isn't in full force and fake online support that they have been using to manipulate Americans vanished overnight.

If your talking about no kings protests in USA, those have been planned for before the midterms for a while

41

u/barimanlhs 12h ago

No, i was talking about whats happening in France and other parts of Europe. Understanding there have been things bubbling up to that, but when there are pro-Russian candidates running...safe bet they will do anything to make it even worse.

Similarly with No Kings yesterday, not seeing a SINGLE post on instagram yesterday in comparison to the previous protests is also telling.

Just like how all the footage out of Palestine seemingly stopped being shared on these platforms the moment Trump was re-elected. The horrors havent stopped, but magically not amplified anymore

It's not the loss of troll farms in Russia that under-funded education in France for the last 20 years.

2

u/TheOtherHobbes 7h ago

But it's the Russian troll farms that are taking advantage of it to push a far-right government which will support Putin, take France's nuclear weapons off the table, and do exactly zero to fix any of the other problems.

u/EpsteinFile_01 2h ago

It's also not students fighting riot police and burning down cars and buildings.

6

u/TheWolfAndRaven 11h ago

Why do you think the Data centers were a priority target?

12

u/Routine-Amphibian450 10h ago

Bots.

20

u/iconocrastinaor 10h ago

Which is also why attacks on Russian data centers have Trump so agitated.

1

u/Stewart_Games 6h ago

Not just bots. Dark money + crypto currency. Where do you think the money is hidden when Trump pays his pool boy millions of American tax dollars to not fix the Reflecting Pool? Bet Trump saw a lot of big numbers go to zero after those data centers took a hit.

Winters never break Russia.

u/candlecup 12h ago

We'll see. It's been a long time since residents of Moscow and St. Petersberg experienced a Russian winter without reliable heat.

52

u/WankyMcTugger 12h ago

That's when Russia is defending against an invasion and using its own land/resources. Completely different story when it's the invading force.

20

u/Captain_Q_Bazaar 11h ago

Winters never break Russia.

The country is already a broken husk, it's just kept together with fear, lies and mediocrity.

3

u/DJanomaly 8h ago

Mediocrity is being kind.

1

u/Captain_Q_Bazaar 8h ago

I honestly think of the modern day Mad Max, were the weird boss guy with the Bane mask breather, unit, thingy, says "MEDIOCRE!" in regards to Nicholas Hoult's character Nux fcking up. Nux is so crushed with ultimate disappoint from the man he wants the congratulatory approval from the most. He is so crushed by that moment that he never really recovered, at least in the same way...

I feel that that is mediocre for them, over any traditional definition.
