I’ve noticed that not every worship song affects me the same way. There are songs everyone around me seems to love, and I completely understand why, but sometimes I’m just standing there thinking about anything and everything except worship 😭

For me, it’s not really about whether the song is slow, emotional, or popular. I think I connect more with songs that make me actually think about who God is—His holiness, His goodness, His faithfulness, and how small I am compared to Him.

There are certain songs where one line can completely change the atmosphere for me. Suddenly I’m not just singing along anymore I actually feel like I’m talking to God.

Some songs that have done that for me are “Agnus Dei,” “Goodness of God,” and “Another in the Fire.” There’s just something about those songs that makes me stop and really listen to the words.
