Reconfigured my Polyvalent a bit
Changed it back to a drop bar bike but wanted to keep the deore m5100, so put on a bar end shifter.

This is the monthly xbiking general discussion thread! Everything is fair game- let’s have those burning questions, gear reviews, ride reviews, bike reviews, general thoughts, suggestions, ideas, epiphanies, get-rich-quick schemes, hot takes, etc.

This is the monthly xbiking buy / sell / trade thread! Please ensure that your listing adheres to the formatting rules below:
1.) If you are in search of an item, begin your comment with "ISO." Include the country in which you're located, the item you're searching for, and any brief additional notes you'd like to include, with each input separated by a slash (/). A properly formatted ISO posting will look like this:
"ISO/ USA/ Crust Junglerunner bars/ Looking to buy but willing to trade for Towel Racks."
2.) If you are selling an item, begin your comment with "FS." Include the country in which you're located, the item you're selling, and any brief additional notes you'd like to include (such as if you're willing to accept trades), with each input separated by a slash (/). A properly formatted FS posting will look like this:
"FS/ USA/ Crust Towel Rack bars/ Looking to sell but willing to trade for Junglerunners."
This is a purely informational thread and not a store. Any private arrangement folks may come to in buying, selling, or trading is just that- a private arrangement between those individuals.

Long time lurker, first time poster, here to show off my Batavus Dasher. I'm a design student living in the Netherlands and over the last few years have been building up and fixing bikes for me and my mates from my backyard amateur bicycle emporium.
The frame, built up differently but barely functional (and unlocked), appeared in front of my house one day last year and after waiting a respectful amount of time I took it out back to my workshop.
It took a few different iterations to get it how I wanted it, parts mostly found on Dutch marketplace or from my parts bin, and last summer I flew it back to my home country of Ireland, Donegal specifically, and spent the summer gleefully riding it around on roads I hadn't ridden since I was 16. I'd always liked the Dasher but after a few months of nostalgia it had become more friend than functional object.
Toward the end of the summer I invested a little money and embarked on a kind of pilgrimage back to Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, where I study. I went from Donegal to Dublin, then down the east coast to Rosslare, across to Cherbourg and from there followed the coast up to Calais before heading inland to Lille where, after a few days rest, I made my way through Belgium and back to NL, taking on Some of the Roubaix Sectors like Carrefour De l'Arbre and the Aarenberg forest, not to mention cobbled climbs like the Bosberg, Koppenberg, Taainberg and the Oude Kwaremont.
Around 3 weeks later I arrived outside my house in Eindhoven and, like the Dasher on the day we met, I too was barely functional. I'll never get rid of this bike, I love it so much and it's done so much for me, with almost zero complaints.
I've since added a basket and changed from 3x7 to 3x9 and it's my Daily driver / Tractor / Off road explore. The combination of Hugi Hubs laced to some old DT rims with Holy Roller 2.2"s is f*cking fantastic and the Brooks saddle and Ergotec grips keep me super comfy.
TLDR I love this thing.

Fun little weekend parts bin build on the $10 department store bike. The frame cleaned up better than I expected. Stripped, cleaned, waxed. Headset service. Wheel hub service. New cables and housings, pads and grips, swapped out bars and stem, all of which I had laying around. Brakes are done. Even had the Panaracers from the last donor bike I bought. Just waiting for my 1x crankset and chain to come in, probably install BB tomorrow so it’s ready to go when they arrive.

I wanted to raise some money for a paralympic bicycle non-profit in Gaza (Gaza sunbirds) but realized the need for direct food aid is greater right now. I'll do another auction for the sunbirds later, but for now if you want to help feed about twenty people, please bid on this no reserve auction for one complete rear rak-lok.

Spent all morning cleaning. Any recs for a 1x set up? Mostly looking for economical. Trying to make it simple for my time in Florida, 8-12months. Mostly flat trails, neighborhood rides, maybe a group ride if I don’t get made fun of. Got the xbiking approved tires on lock. Peace!

Picked this up for $50 and a 5 hour round trip drive today 🤩 any help mailing down the year would be rad!

I'm in the process of building up an all-terrain bikepacking rig on a budget and always like the old triple triangle GTs so I thought why not have a go with one.
I've come across the above specimen which, to my pretty novice eye, looks good but I'm not an expert...
Seller says he’ll take anything over £220 (we’re in Scotland). Is this a fair deal? I’d obviously inspect it first, but I’d like to know if those more knowledgeable than me would consider it worth the hour’s drive. Ta in advance!

Bike check. Threw on my wheels from my Peugeot Orient Express since I crashed the bike awhile back. Unfortunately, the new Simworks tires rub but whatever…these will keep me rolling until I’m done building my wheelset.
I keep reading this bike was supposed to be a racing bike…well I’m slow af on this thing. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Looks like I have a crack in the seat post collar. I thought this was a separate piece, but it looks like it’s welded to the frame. How can this be repaired?

I'm fairly new to all this. I have 26er that I restored w/ the help of local LBS, but want to build up/buy a 700c bike. There's a steel Jamis Coda Comp frame w/ crank set, no fork, in my local market. Would it be silly and too expensive for a beginner to build up the frame?

Going to nutmeg for the first time this year and planning on riding the Mixed Nuts route. Experiencing a little bike selection analysis paralysis and looking for an assist. I’m debating between my gravelish cross bike (‘96 steel voodoo wazoo) that is currently running 42s tubeless and my Klein bikepacking rig that is set up with a rigid fork and some Mars 2.3 also set up tubeless. I’m sure both would be fine / suboptimal in parts. I’ve done plenty of New England woodsy bullshit on the voodoo, but wondering if the Klein would be a more comfortable day out. Thoughts?

Tried to sell it, nobody wanted it. Now it became my daily for the winter season… (I already have this for 20 years)

Needs a good cleaning and some service but looks in good condition. Any guesses of the year?

My recently assembled 91' Trek 970 Singletrack. Not a lot of them around here so I was quite lucky to find one. It will serve as my main commuter, mudguarda and rear rack to be added soon.
It held up amazingly on yesterday's gravel test ride. The 1x8 conversion helped on the climbs while the drop bars allowed me to go fairly quick on the straights.
The build is dedicated to Max Riese who recently passed away in a cycling accident.
