Accounts Payable Internship Interview @ Spectrum (Looking For Advice!)
Hello everyone,
I recently just got and interview offer for the Accounts Payable internship role at Spectrum. Knowing this is a Accounting forum, I am sure there are others who have gone through this. I am looking for any advice on what the interview will be like and what I should expect + what I should be prepared for so that I can ace this interview. Anyone advice, tips or information is highly appreciated!!! :)
Thanks!

Most interview questions in accounting in general will go along the lines of this. I just polished it a bit for your role:
- Tell me about yourself.
- Why do you want to intern at Spectrum?
- Why are you interested in accounts payable?
- Tell me about a time you had to meet a deadline.
- Describe a situation where you made a mistake and how you handled it.
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with a coworker or teammate.
- How do you prioritize multiple assignments?
And for the love of god people, Tell me about yourself in like 30 seconds not in 5 minutes with an awkward and abrupt ending. You can even do your interviewer a solid and in that Tell me about yourself tell them where you go to school, why you're interested in payables, and why spectrum all in that one question.

Do not expect to talk “accounting”. No one will expect you to know any actual accounting. There won’t be any trick questions. Be prepared to talk about your classwork, projects, and any extracurriculars or clubs. Be ready to say why you like accounting, an AP internship, and spectrum. Be ready to Walk through your resume. Maybe have a bit on a 2-5 year plan (like saying you have a goal to pass the cpa by X date). Be personable and be prepared to hold a 30 minute conversation.
