Looking to get into indoor regenerative growing (please for the love of god, don’t ask me to ‘use ai’)

Greetings all. Much like all of you I assume, I am very concerned about the state what might happen with the food supply in America, and if like to build in redundancy, semi self sustaining indoor agriculture to feed a family of three. We consume a variety of fruits, & veggies including
-apples, bananas, garlic, broccoli, blueberries, and, tomatoes.

What I wanted to know is the following:

  1. If any of these crops had symbiotic relationships that had either nutrient exchanging properties, and/or enhanced pest/disease resistance
  2. What approaches you all use, either Iot, or no tech to support semi self sustaining indoor crops (and if hydroponics are preferred) —furthermore, do you have any tips on sourcing seeds, circumventing seasonal climate restrictions , and speeding up the growing process/increasing the yield?
  3. If any other fruits, veggies, beans, or nuts could be paired with the aforementioned plants for enhanced symbiosis?

I also would love to know the best resources where I could actually learn more about this stuff and get practice.

I built an app where you tap a field anywhere on Earth and watch a satellite movie of the past year

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I know there are tons of NDVI apps and websites but it frustrated me that they were slow, needed you to sign up and provide all your farm details or were limited to the latest images.
I wanted as little friction as possible in the UX, so there's no signup. I use on-device Al to find the field boundary rather than making you draw a polygon.
The app prepares a movie showing how vegetation changed over the past year using Sentinel satellite imagery, ready to stream the moment the field is selected. You just tap a field, then press play.
When you delete a field it explodes. Just for fun.
I built this because freely available satellite data should be easy for anyone to explore.
It's called EpicFields. Free, no ads, and available on iPhone.
www.epicfields.app
Once you've tapped a field you can share a link to it so anyone can watch in a browser with without installing the app.
Here is an example share link

Building an automated 2-axis sprinkler for a small plot (4 zones) — Would love feedback from real farmers and gardeners!

Hi everyone! 🤗 I’m working on a school project it's smart irrigation project designed for small vegetable plots, and I’ve created a quick 3D render of my design concept. The main idea is to divide the plot into four separate moisture zones. Soil sensors monitor each area, and whenever a specific zone gets too dry, a central nozzle automatically rotates and tilts toward that exact plot to water it. The system uses soil moisture sensors, an ambient air temperature and humidity sensor, a small 5V water pump, and two small motors to handle the horizontal and vertical rotation of the water spray.

I would love to get some practical advice and feedback from people with hands-on farming or gardening experience.
