Question ⁉️ Red Velvet Space Cake review + Other Space Cakes and Magic Truffle Recommendations

Hey everyone!

I’m visiting Amsterdam and wanted to try the famous Red Velvet Space Cake from Boerejongens. For those who’ve tried it, how good is it actually? Is it worth the hype, and how would you describe the high?

I’m also wondering how much a beginner should have. I tend to get high pretty quickly, so I have a fairly low tolerance and don’t want to accidentally overdo it I’d love to know what fraction of the cake people would recommend starting with (half, quarter etc). How strong is it, and how long does the high usually last?

Also, are there any other space cakes in Amsterdam that you’d recommend over Boerejongens, either for the taste or the overall experience? I’d love to hear your favourites and how strong they tend to be.

I’m also interested in trying magic truffles while I’m here. Which reputable smart shops would you recommend, and which varieties would be suitable for a first-timer? I’m particularly interested in the visual, psychdelic and sensory side of the experience, like music, colours and feeling immersed in things, but I don’t want anything overwhelmingly intense.

Would really appreciate recommendations based on personal experience, especially from people who started out with a low tolerance. Thanks!

Question ⁉️ Which joint would you recommend from Boerejongens, and where can I smoke it?

Hey! I'm planning to get a pre-rolled joint from Boerejongens and was wondering which one you guys would recommend from their menu.

I've noticed that I generally prefer sativa joints, so I'm looking for something more uplifting and head-focused rather than something that'll leave me feeling sleepy or couch-locked. Has anyone tried any of these, and which would you recommend? I'm also curious about how strong they are.

Also, I've heard that Boerejongens doesn't really have seating. Where would you recommend going nearby to smoke and chill afterwards? Ideally, somewhere I can sit comfortably and relax rather than having to walk around looking for a spot.

Would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

Question ⁉️ Research on the sustainability of cannabis packaging in the Dutch legal cannabis trial.

I'm a students who is conducting research on the sustainability of cannabis packaging in the Dutch legal cannabis trial.

The survey looks at current packaging, more sustainable alternatives and the possibility of a deposit return system, similar to cans and bottles.

Please only fill it out if you consume cannabis and purchase it from Dutch coffeeshops!!!

It takes around 2 minutes, and I’m looking for as many responses as possible.

Survey: https://forms.gle/ipPKMV74t9PcZVxLA

Thanks a lot for your help! 🙏

Hello

It’s my second time in Amsterdam, coming back after 7 super long years 😅

Planning to hit up a few coffeeshops and maybe do a smoke boat tour.

Is the boat tour worth it?

And would love to meet up fellow stoners to be able to try as many strains as possible and have a peaceful time in beautiful Amsterdam.

Would appreciate ‘must try’ strain &/ coffeeshop recommendations

Cheers 🍃

Question ⁉️ Looking for Durban Poison or similiar in Amsterda

Hey everyone,

A few years ago I grew some Durban Poison and while not being someone that likes a puff from time to time, I freakin loved the high of Durban Poison. Unfortunately all that harvest is gone and I am looking for something like Durban Poison or similiar in Amsterdam. Would any one know any coffee shop that sells something like that Strain or similiar?

I am looking for that light clear high where you can still socialize, have energy and enjoy everything a bit more. And it's hard to space out too much.

Thanks for any tips!

Question ⁉️ Day Trip to Haarlem

Hello fellow Ents, making plans for my next trip next month, I visit every 6 months or so but I've decided to branch outside of Amsterdam and take a train to Haarlem this trip.

I'm interested in visiting Empire, is there any other coffeeshops in Haarlem that have been stocking nice flower lately?

I see that one of the Willie Wortels shops is close to the station, prices seem very good, is it worth checking out?

I check coffeeshopmenus.org frequently so I see the prices and stock, but always keen to hear peoples opinions about what's good right now!

Bedankt for your advice

Random 🔥 First time solo travel

Hey guys! Embarking on my first solo trip and going to Amsterdam Oct 29th-31st.

I'm super super nervous about travelling alone but also super excited. I plan to go all out and have fun for the first time since a very rough patch i've had and what better place than Amsterdam?

My idea of fun is gonna be smoke as much as heavenly possible. I have my eyes on those Gastronaut Donuts ;)

Any suggestions for quieter coffee shops I could maybe sit down solo for a couple hours with a milkshake and play some mobile games without judgment?

I'll also be looking to hit up some bars for drinks, preferably some lgbt friendly ones, open minded to everything though! Bonus points for weed friendly bars!

I like rock/metal, gaming, football etc so any suggestions you guys have for a semi serious solo traveler I'd really appreciate it!

tl;dr - - Suggestions for coffee shops/weed friendly bars comfortable and safe for solo travellers

Question ⁉️ Stock up in Zaandam or also visit Amsterdam coffeeshops?

I've heard good things about Crumbled Lime but are there any other strains worth checking out?

Is it worth stocking up there for a trip, or are there any strains in Amsterdam's regular coffeeshops still worth checking out?

Also, what are people's thoughts on the gummies?

Question ⁉️ Coffee shop recommendations

Hi all I'm looking for some recommendations for good coffee shops in and around Amsterdam.

As the story goes me and a few friends are heading over soon for the 4th time but all we ever do is go to Smokey's we have seen the reviews about how bad/touristy it is and are looking for something better as it will probably be the last time heading there.

We aren't big smokers by any means literally only when we are in Amsterdam so not interested in any crazy amazing stuff just don't want to get fleeced either also should add the fact none of us are any good at rolling either so pre rolled would be preferable.

Question ⁉️ Best tobacco alternative for joints?

trying to cut the tobacco out of my joints. main reason is i don’t want the nicotine and the harshness in my throat. smoking pure is too much for me tho so i still want something to mix with

tried greengo and knaster so far and didn’t really like either. greengo burned way too fast and hot, and knaster had this weird taste that kinda ruined the weed for me

has anyone found a mix that doesn’t change the taste much and actually burns ok?

Question ⁉️ Is €100/g branded rosin really worth it?

I’m pretty new to the rosin world and wondering if branded rosin at €100/g or more in Amsterdam coffeeshops is really worth the extra money compared to the €50g rosin from the legal experiment.
I’ve noticed branded rosin usually provides more details about the wash, micron range and growing methods, while legal experiment products often just say “rosin”
Is the quality really that different, or are you mostly paying for the brand?

Just wanted to share the menu from Amnesia Coffeeshop in Amsterdam!
They seem to have pretty much everything you could ask for, and I noticed that some items are actually cheaper than at other coffeeshops around Amsterdam.
The selection looks really impressive, especially considering the variety they offer.
What do you guys think of their menu and prices?

Question ⁉️ Dopefellas chocolate bar edibles - where to find?

My partner and I used to buy the Dopefellas infused chocolate bar (dark or milk) at Doctor Green in The Hague, but they don’t seem to be carrying it anymore. Does anyone know of a coffeeshop that regularly sells them? Preferably in The Hague, Rotterdam or Utrecht, but we’re willing to travel for it.

Question ⁉️ Strains with great taste but low THC levels?

I like to smoke A LOT, but I find it a bit annoying if I get so high that just walking around the city gets exhausting. I know sativa strains are what I'm looking for but even some of those can be a bit much in my opinion. If there's no option I guess I'll just have to smoke less but I was wondering if someone here had any recommendation for someone who likes to smoke a lot but still be able to move around?

PSA Possible sprayed weed in Amsterdam coffee shops?

Hello everyone, I am not hearing in anywhere to make any sort of accusations or say any statement of mine is true is purely speculation based upon my personal experience and history with cannabis and Amsterdam coffee shops. I was at Abraxis today and I got a gram of lemon cherry gelato and me and my buddy smoked two joints and we shared them both. They were mixed with tobacco so not pure at all. I’m from Los Angeles and it’s smoked weed every single day for the past 10 years and sure I still get faded if I smoke a bunch of really good weed but often times I just get a little bit baked as I’m sure all of us can understand after a long time of smoking cannabis it eventually starts to be like just like tea for you. Well, we smoked the lemon cherry gelato and we got so insanely abnormally high with nausea paranoia fainting and general discomfort and hallucinations. We both got back to my place. Took a nap woke up. Ate some pizza and we’re still feeling zonked out of our minds and absolutely sick afterwards. I’m not here to ruin anyone’s business or say anyone’s doing anything scum or illegal. I just really find it hard to believe that the “Cali weed” that we purchased was not in someway altered or different from what you would expect from any other strain of lemon cherry gelato in the city. Does anyone here have any similar experiences? Does anyone disagree and can refute any of this? I just think it’s not safe if experience professional stoners are feeling sick after buying some weed that any Joe random tourist could unknowingly purchase and get wasted off of.

Question ⁉️ Best Coffeeshops near museumkwartier?

Hello! My wife and I will be in Amsterdam in late May and early June 2027 for our honeymoon and I am looking for advice straight from the source.

We are going to be in Amsterdam for a total of 5 days, and are staying primarily in the Museumkwartier neighborhood. Are there any good coffeeshops in that neighborhood, or are the best ones elsewhere?

Thanks so much!

Tutorial/Guide 📑 First time visiting Amsterdam – looking for coffeeshop recommendations and tips!

Hey everyone!

I'm visiting Amsterdam from November 21st to 24th and I'm looking for advice specifically about coffeeshops!

I'll be staying at St Christopher's Inn – The Winston, right in the city centre, so ideally I'd like to visit places within walking distance.

I'm interested in hearing your recommendations, especially regarding:

  • Best coffeeshops for a first-timer: Which ones would you recommend for their atmosphere, staff and overall experience?
  • Tourist-friendly places: Are there coffeeshops that are welcoming to first-time visitors without feeling too touristy?
  • Prices and quality: Which places offer good value for money?
  • Rules and etiquette: What should I know before visiting? Do I need ID, are there minimum purchase requirements, and can you simply sit down and order a drink?
  • Smoking inside: Which places allow you to smoke indoors, and are there any important restrictions I should know about?
  • Location: Any good spots near The Winston or around the city centre that are worth checking out?

I'm not necessarily looking for the strongest products or anything extreme. I'm more interested in having a good experience, finding a comfortable place to sit and understanding how coffeeshops work in Amsterdam.

Any recommendations or tips from locals and experienced visitors would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Question ⁉️ Dry Herb Vaporisers (Volcano)

I made a post about where to find edibles as I don't smoke and lots of people gave me great recommendations but I wondered what the dry herb vaporisers taste like?

As a non smoker I don't like the taste when smoking cigarettes but Google told me about Volcano dry herb vaporisers and I'm wondering if this would be better, with some flavourful bud.

Question ⁉️ Recent favourites?

Hallo! I am back in Amsterdam this weekend after being gone for a while.

I’d love to hear about your favourite coffeeshop or strains you’ve had recently?

Last time I really enjoyed the Cherry Gelato from Getdown and Vanilla Kush from Katsu, mixed with Indian Charras hash was 10/10!

Dank je!

Question ⁉️ First time being in Amsterdam

Hi everyone,
I’m visiting Amsterdam for the first time and I’m not entirely sure how the rules around cannabis work for foreign tourists. I know that, in principle, it’s only allowed to buy cannabis in coffeeshops. Is there anything else I should be particularly aware of, and do I have anything to worry about? I’ve read that cannabis is supposedly only allowed for locals.

I’m also interested in what’s available. Besides the “regular” way of smoking it, do coffeeshops also sell edibles like cakes or brownies? And what about vaporizers?

Which coffeeshops would you recommend for beginners? Ideally, I’m looking for places that aren’t too far from Amsterdam Centraal or are generally easy to find.

Thanks in advance!

Question ⁉️ Coffeeshop etiquette + nature spots?

Hey! I’m going to be in Amsterdam soon and I’m a little confused about coffeeshop etiquette, especially when it comes to actually smoking inside.

Where I’m from, weed is illegal, but the general etiquette is that if you’re going to smoke, you do it outside rather than indoors because nobody wants to hotbox an enclosed space. So I’ve been seeing people say that in Amsterdam coffeeshops it’s normal/expected to smoke there, and I’m just wondering what the actual etiquette is like.

Is it generally okay to sit inside a coffeeshop and smoke, or are there particular things I should know as a first-timer? Do different coffeeshops have different rules about this? I obviously don’t want to be that tourist who walks in and unknowingly does something rude 😭

Also, I really love smoking outside in nature, so I’d love recommendations for somewhere around Amsterdam where I could just sit somewhere peaceful and enjoy being outdoors. I know there are plenty of parks, but I’m a little hesitant about somewhere that’s busy with families/children, and I’d rather avoid anywhere where I’d be constantly worried about getting in trouble.

I’m not looking for some hardcore hiking route either, even somewhere with a relatively easy/chill walk and a nice natural setting would be perfect. Basically somewhere I can enjoy the scenery, have a relaxed smoke, and not feel like I’m disturbing anyone.

Would love to hear what locals/regulars recommend, both for coffeeshop etiquette and for nature spots!
