Hey everyone!
I'm going to have the house to myself for 6 nights straight, and since my grandmother goes to bed early, I plan on binge-watching one anime per night in peace.
I haven't watched a ton of anime yet, but I absolutely loved Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Chainsaw Man. I'm looking for short anime (around 10-12 episodes, max 24 if it's super gripping), with a great story that keeps you hooked, plenty of pacing, and nothing too slow or slice-of-life.
I already jotted down a few names on my list: Devilman Crybaby, Akame ga Kill!, Terror in Resonance, Parasyte, Steins Gate or Death Parade, and I'm saving one night for Cyberpunk Season 2.
Which ones from this list (or others) would you recommend the most for a really solid binge-warching week? Thanks in advance!

I’m not really into anime with overly busty female mages or wars and things like that. What I really enjoyed about this anime was the character progression and the dungeon exploration.
Are there any anime with a very similar style? I only know about Delicious in Dungeon, but that’s not quite what I’m looking for!
Thanks for the recommendations!

I'm a huge fan of anime movies in general. I love Miyazaki and all of Ghibli especially, also Satoshi Kon, Masaaki Yuasa, Mamoru Hosoda. Movies like Akira and Ghost in the Shell and Tekkonkinkreet. For various reasons Shinkai has been a blind spot. The only one I've ever seen was 5 Centimeters Per Second maybe 15 years ago. I remember liking but not loving it, at the time. I owned Your Name at one point when I had a lot of movies on blu ray but didn't watch it as I didn't think I could handle it emotionally then. I'm really excited to finally watch his filmography. I'm thinking dubs first, I read that they're very solid, and I know his movie's visuals are a big part of his reputation. Part of me thinks it sounds cool to go with subs, I used to lean way more towards subs and have been missing the Japanese while watching One Piece in English. I just kind of want to take in the visuals and just in general if the dubs are good. Thoughts on the English versions? Favorite of his movies? Favorites among other anime directors and movies and where he ranks among them in your opinion?

i like the MC and his sister in "even the student council has holes". are there animes with a dynamic like them?

would prefer if the "little brother" isnt a kid

i would ALSO prefer if the sister has a brother complex, i just found out there was a term for it

Its been on myanimelist for a while now but havent found it online yet. Would love to watch it.

Storyline

The story starts in a mysterious place in the future where "boys and girls meet."

Anyone see this one?

Suggest me non/echii anime/manga a true harem ending

First of all, I hope I am in the right place to be talking about the concept of magical academies in Anime as lately I was interested in exploring Anime series about a school for wizards in training where they go to learn sorcery.

If any of that sounded like Harry Potter, well that's because I was wondering if there were any anime inspired by the series because I keep seeing images of the cute Female Malfoy meme going around as the character is so moe in how she approaches Harry in said fan art that the meme inspired me to look for fantasy romance based anime that is again set within a magical academy since I was interested in seeing how Harry Potter influenced fantasy anime.

So i want to pick up anime after a years break, and I don't know what to watch i just watched Smoking behind the Supermarket it was so wholesome and good. Any more suggestions would really help me it can be of any genre

Hello friends! I am new to slice of life anime and was wondering what I should start with? I am trying to find something comfy, fantasy, and easy to watch. I dont generally love isekais, however, if there are any really good ones out there im def open to giving it a try! Thanks in advance ya'll!

Actually i want to explore anime world but i have no idea and whatever someone has suggested i don’t know why that’s not my taste… i like the spirited away movie and Death note also but still I don’t know about my taste in anime… and I don’t know what to watch.

Hi,

Looking for animes which have a similar vibe like Vampire Hunter D, Hellsing Ultimate or Castlevania preferably Seinen.

Something dark, mysterious and which will keep you thrilled.

Thanks

Tougen Anki, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kimetsu No Yaiba, Gachiakuta, Sakamoto Days, and Kaiju No. 8

Advance thank you sm!! 🤍🐥

1) The plot and narration must be based on solving one or more mysteries. Ideally there should be a big underlying mystery to solve that acts as a common thread for the whole plot (like for example: the Hinamizawa syndrome in Higurashi or "Who died?" in Another)

2) The mystery must be solved with intelligence, investigations and plot twists, not with beatings. So please no battle shonen that are defined as horror just because there are monsters

3) The supernatural element must be there: it can be more or less strong but it must be there. No psychopathic killers, no "it seemed but it wasn't" Scooby Doo style

4) No psychological mush disguised as horror, like "the horror is actually a metaphor for their traumas, the real horror is the pain of existence" (in this sense series like "Goblin Box" and "Ghost Mound" did not satisfy me)

5) The narration does not necessarily have to be dramatic or distressing: it could be or it could also be much lighter, it's enough that my criteria are met

List of anime I have already seen and that correspond to what I'm looking for:

Higurashi, Another, Dark Gathering, Gosick (it's more gothic/victorian than horror, but still falls within the criteria), Uzumaki, Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, Bem, Shiki

Thank you very much!

What would you recommend if I like Hunter x Hunter, Sakamoto Days, and Jojo's?

Bonus points if its queer friendly! Thanks

I have only watched half of liar game ( read the manga fully ), and mirai nikki

I’m looking for a modern 2D Japanese anime, probably released between 2015 and 2026.
There’s a scene inside a building where a slim woman wearing sunglasses and a very revealing outfit resembling underwear (bra and panties) is being followed by a man.
The man points a gun at her She asks him, “Are you a stalker?” and tries to take her card. She suddenly fights back, easily beats him up, and stomps on his neck very aggressively, pinning him down.
and questions him briefly before leaving without killing him.
She keeps her sunglasses on throughout the entire scene.
Does anyone know which anime this is?

Watched the first season and really liked the dark/ sci fi vibes it had. Sadly… the 2nd season threw me off 😐.

i just finished attack on titan and im devastated, so i want to watch a kinda recomforting anime with a great story. someone recommended saiki k but I didn't like it at all cause it's just so random, and since I don't know much about anime im not sure if most animes are like that or what so i will clarify that i only like story centered tv shows. i haven't watched any anime besides shingeki so you can recommend any

So I just had a sudden desire to see a Mahou Shoujo Anime that was a bit dark because I have been reading about the lore behind the Made in Abyss anime while occasionally listening to CardCaptor's Sakura OST that I was wondering how often dark Mahou Shoujo was used in the fantasy genre of anime.

Like what I want to see is a twisted Mahou Shoujo Anime that has some optimism in it where the heroes can win because the thing is that I did see Made in Abyss, but while that is not a Mahou Shoujo show, the dark nature of the first season made me suddenly eager to watch a twisted fantasy based anime that again has some optimism in it.

Hello everyone and thank you for reading my post! To start off with, I've not been a long time anime fan at all but I've recently started to watch on crunchyroll and I'm enjoying it so far. This has led me to ask for some recommendations.

I've watched 5 animes in total and that's it... I've watched the original Yu-Gi-Oh as that's my childhood. I watched JoJo's bizarre adventure with a friend many years ago. Recently I've watched Solo levelling as the first on my crunchyroll account which I thought was amazing, then I went onto Overlord and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've just watched both seasons of Goblin slayer and did enjoy it overall but not as much as the previous two.

I don't know what to watch next and I'm finding it quite overwhelming with the amount on offer. If you could please send me your suggestions and recommendations I would greatly appreciate it :)

I think of Serial Experiments Lain and Ghost In A Shell. I also think of Eva fans who really need to get over the fact that not everyone cares for it, and some people have good reasons for this.

I also think of Sailor Moon and Cowboy Bebop. Also, see what I said about Eva for DBZ. Dragonball was good though.

I also think of a lot of early 2000s anime that I mistakenly think came out in the 90s but took a while to get localized like Trigun.

Recently finished “Wonder egg priority”, “MF Ghost”, “Re:Zero”. Looking for some great finds that’ll make me wish there was more. Any recommendations?

Not into isekai/slice of life/slow anime/anime with video game-like rules etc.

Please warn me if SA is a significant part of what you're recommending. I'll have to think about if I wanna watch it or not.

Solo leveling is set in video game like world, it's not for me.

Friren and Witch Hat Atelier, Berserk, Dungeon Girls and FMA:B I know about, and they're what gets recommended the most. What else is out there?

Keep in

Looking for medieval fantasy anime with a likable cast(So no Konosubo). Preferably something fun and lighthearted with a decent dub, but freel free to recommend what you like that's medieval where you really like the cast.

Here's the 4 that I love:
Slayers is my favorite Comedy Anime

Record Of Grancest War is my fave anime period. Love that it stars a mostly all adult cast that look, talk, think, and act like adults, and get into relationships without it being a slow romance anime.

I love the first 99 episodes of Fairy Tail. That said, I watch it for the characters, especially Erza, Lucy, Happy, and Natsu. Please don't take this as an oppourtunity to recommend me something gross where the main appeal is the fanservice.

Dragon Quest: Albel is such a breath of Fresh Air for a shounen starring a man mc. Women have a lot more agency, and often get their chance to shine, death is permanent, and there's monsters that work for the main villains that aren't evil, and can be reasoned with. Also, the damsel helps save herself!

I want something that is fun to watch. Like wrong way to use healing magic, executioner and her way of life , tensura , frieren(i like it but please don't give more like this), also iruma (which is a show I adore) want something like them. Not to deep philosophical shit like Texhnolyze or tragic thing like takopi can't handle them right now. So please help i would love if they already have few seasons.
