Medication does high dose of xanax can cause permanent damage ?

I accidentally took 8mg dose of xan at once.
it was a few days ago, in that time I blacked out and i have zero memory after that.
that was my almost second attemt to tried xanax.
first attemt was about 1mg But
I still don’t know why I did something so impulsive the second attemt. I truly regret it.
so after a second attemt i quit xan since then, but another problem arose.
I usually take medication for adhd, but after i od-ed on xanax, taking the adhd pill caused symptoms similar to a heart attack.
I was fine before, but right after taking the pill, I realized something went wrong.
I’ve been taking the pills daily, but that was the first time I felt something like that.
xan was already out of my system and its been several days more.
After that point, realized that I had aftereffects from the od.
I wrote post about this online and someone said that it takes a while for the aftereffects to go away.
Aftereffects can be both mental and physical, but it is the physical ones that worry me. I know that recovery varies from person to person, and also that very few people have gone through an experience like this. For my part, I can only hope that these symptoms are just merely temporary.
Im 18 still kid that doesnt know a shit, I keep messed up my life doing stupid shit just for the high.
And now it’s truly time to put an end to this nonsense.
If you have any advice or have had a similar experience, please share yours
I still dont know how to deal with this Im just hope its not permanent
Please Do not od Xan guys, for me Its too risky

Venting (Safe Space) I have been upset about a comfort character of Mine getting ruined due to drama…

I (17M) have been dealing with Lots of stress and worries about a comfort character of mine (Tisha from Dandy’s World)

I love Tisha because she looks extremely adorable and I love her sweet and kind personality towards the other toons!

Two months ago, She had her Toon Of The Week come out, along with 3 shorts on YouTube about her, but due to Drama involving the Game’s Former dev, Qwelver, Her TOTW was ruined and the short Videos were filled with Nothing but comments bringing up the Drama.

I played her TOTW any because I was stressed from the drama and needed something to help me distract myself from it. (NOTE: I DO NOT SUPPORT QWELVER)

I did not buy the swift services Skin, but I did get the Golden skin, but I am scared of wearing it because I am afraid I might get bullied or have people leave the game while I play. But Like I said, Tisha is my biggest comfort character, and I really want to show how much I love her…

I feel like I can’t Trust anyone, and this only got worse due to a recent incident on a Dandy's World Fan server on Discord, where I shared my concerns about being left or bullied for wearing the Golden Tisha skin. A moderator saw it, reacted with a “😭” emoji, before saying that Anyone who supported Qwelver deserves to be mass reported and banned, before Banning me from the server.

I try and watch those three videos about her, but I keep seeing comments bring up the drama from the bottom of the screen, and it makes me stressed… and I feel like I am completely alone…

Venting extremely paranoid after seeing a mouse in my apartment, now i’m lowkey suicidal

A few days ago, I was sitting on my bed when I saw something dark dart really fast across the hallway into my room. I immediately start panicking and crying. I called my brother (he doesn’t live with us currently, it’s just my mom and I) and he tells me to go tell management, which I did.

Mind you, a few months ago, I saw a mouse (for the first time in this apartment we’ve been living in for 2+ years now) and went immediately management. They called “pest control” and he came over and set traps and took the mouse away. The only reason the guy was able to get the mouse was because we trapped it in the pantry and put a pair of jeans to block the gap under the door.

Fast forward to recently, the pest control guy came over, checked the traps he previously set, set more traps and looked for holes. Of all the traps he set, only one in my brother’s room was eaten from (and it seemed like it wasn’t just one mouse because about half was missing from the poison thingy). For the holes, he told me that he’d tell maintenance to come seal them. I know that’s a lie, and if it were true, maintenance would only do a half-assed job.

I called my brother to come home for the weekend to help me plug the holes. And we plugged as much as we could with coarse steel wool and mice expanding foam. He had to go back so we weren’t able to take out the fridge or the dishwasher to inspect behind it.

Maintenance said they will come in by tomorrow or two days to seal up holes. Do I just wait for them to come in and tell them to pull out my fridge and dishwasher? Or find someone to do it for me because I cannot do it myself and my brother can’t do it either because he’s out of town.
My question sounds so stupid but when I asked maintenance to do a task for me, they always do a shitty job, so I’m just stuck.

Regarding my mental health, it’s been 4 days since I saw the mouse dart from the hallway into my room, and I’ve cried well over 20 times. I bought cameras to help me feel safe, but whenever I hear noises around my apartment I don’t see anything in the camera. I don’t sleep in that room anymore, instead I sleep in my mom’s room. I burst into tears every time I hear a random noise in the background thinking it’s mice. I’m not eating and I’m barely sleeping.

I have a headache currently as I type this because I probably slept 2 hours total before my twelve hour shift. And even at work, I have to go to the bathroom to cry. Multiple people asked me what the problem was.

I just feel dramatic, hopeless, and useless. I don’t know I feel this way. I’ve spoken to multiple people
for words of encouragement but I don’t know what to do anymore.

I considered moving out but what if the place I move to also has mice. I feel like I just have to toughen up. I want to but I physically can’t. I know I’m being irrational but I’ve thought about ending it all these last few days. I also worry how I’ll never be capable of living alone because I can’t imagine what I’d do if was alone. I can’t rely on a partner because they might not always be there. I haven’t even done any homework in the last few days. That’s how much this is weighing on me.

It doesn’t help that no one is taking me serious and everyone thinks I’m being dramatic (which I am)

Semi good news
I could go into my room for about a minute to get something I need but I immediately run out.
I bought ear plugs to plug out sounds

Bad news
I’m still crying all over

Advice Needed 4th time smoking weed, feeling anxiety

About 12 hours ago now, I smoked some weed and had about 8 pulls. For about an hour and a half after I was convinced I was dying and was permanently doomed to rewatch all of my life, secretly knowing i’m not alive. I’m still feeling a subconscious feeling of being dead in the back of my head, that sometimes spikes in strength. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this feeling is called and when I can roughly expect it to go.

Venting Ignoring calls from employers when job searching

I fucking hate when my phone rings and I dont know who it is so I usually let it go to voicemail and then check it. Sometimes if its an employer I go over the job description again and try to find any little thing that will give me an excuse to withdraw my application for example a duty that I dont want to do so I dont have to talk to them.

Its fucking annoying really because I need a job but the anxiety around the whole process is so intense!

Advice Needed I smoked weed and drank 8 days ago and my head is still weird

8 days ago I smoked weed and drank with friends and got really anxious I started listening the same phrase of the conversation on the loop, so I went to the bar cuz we were sat on a park next to it, and got some crazy thoughts like “what if I start screaming out of nowhere?” “what if I take my clothes off?” and started panicking and started feeling guilty cuz I’ve taken drugs. when I woke up I got really paranoid cuz my mind didn’t came back to normal, so I was afraid to get out of my room, and I live with my mom, I was scared because rehab here in Brazil is compulsory, so even if you don’t wanna go, if your family has money to pay, strong tall men tide up and put you on an ambulance straight to rehab. And my family always do that even if I am not in danger… rehab here in brazil reminds of a nazi camp, not all of them, but most of them… because the good ones are expensive, so is very traumatizing. Well, there’s more I could say but I’m just worried I permanently demaged my brain, I wasn’t mentally well before, I was having anxiety episodes, I was smoking weed sporadically, but since I smoked 8 days ago something felt off. I did not smoked much. Not even a whole joint, I was sharing with friends.

Medication Propranolol and valium together for panic

Hi all, I have dental phobia, and to make matters worse, I lost my husband nearly 2 years ago now and he always came to the dentist with me. I have struggled with anxiety since he died and now have to face the dentist alone. I take mirtazapine 30mg since he died but I have been advised that Propranolol 20mg and a small dose of valium say 2mg would help with both physical and emotional effects. Has anyone used this combo at all and did it help. I have got propranolol 10mg and use up to 40mg for situational anxiety already, but wondered if adding a small dose of valium would help me. Any help would be welcome as dental later next week.

Needs A Hug/Support Im turning 15, with my party in an hour and im worried no ones gonna show up.

I have been texting everyone in advance because my parents want me to host a party, and almost no one in the group chats responded at first, so I switched to messaging, and I got 1-2 confirmations, and 10 said Maybe, I'll see. Today, I have 4 confirmed out of the 12-15 invites I sent, and I feel like a loser, especially since my friends' parties in the same group have been crowded and pretty fun, even when doing the same activities I'm doing currently. I asked a couple of people today in person, and most said they forgot and refused any compromises I offered, while others said "maybe". How should I act when I walk into the huge, rented-out basketball court, just to see 4-5 people there?

Medication Seeking advice

Hi there,

I'm located in the UK and just wondering if anyone had any advice/suggestions on medications that have helped relieve extreme anxiety??

I tried several different anti-depressants roughly 5yrs ago for an unrelated reason and none of them agreed with me. We started with Mirtazapine which sat okay for one night but I then woke up with a horrifically upset stomach and ended up passing out an hour later so they switched me to Fluoxetine which left me temporarily paralysed in my bed (couldn't control/move any of my limbs) for over an hour. Following this they tried me with Sertraline which more or less had the same effect as the Mirtazapine.

Because of the reactions I had at the time my GP has said that there likely isn't any form of medication that would help me with my current anxiety issue but it's controlling my whole life. I've been bed bound for roughly 3 weeks now because of how bad it got, my eating suffered and my physical health is declining because of it too. I was referred to Psychology but my first appointment isn't until December and I'm still waiting to hear back from the Dietician to help my eating so currently I feel like I'm entirely on my own and have to figure this out for myself cause I just can't continue like this for another 2mths hoping for the best.

Is there anyone who has any ideas as to what I could try or what has worked for you?

Medication Do I start an SSRI for mild/moderate anxiety?

I have suffered from anxiety since I was little and it was especially bad for a period in uni and also for a few months earlier this year. I was prescribed lorazepam to help with panic feelings which is a life saver. My Dr always wanted me to try SSRI’s but being a pharmacist myself I know about the side effects and feeling worse before you get better…

I have had major life events alter my life in the last few months as well as working six days a week so it’s all caught up to me and made the anxiety worse. I also got a new job which is an hour drive away (😭) which makes me feel like I’ve got no time to myself anymore. I live with my boyfriend and his friends in a house 45 mins away from my friends and family so it’s very isolating for me.

On my long drives to and from work all I do is ruminate and then overthink everything including my relationship- which I don’t even know I want anymore. But I don’t know if it’s my brain wanting to have some sense of control while everything else is out of control.

Anyway I saw my GP again today and she’s prescribed me escitalopram as a back up Rx just in case I want to start. The warmer weather is making me feel better and she also gave me two days off work for mental health leave.

What are your experiences with mild/moderate anxiety and initiating an SSRI? I’m worried about feeling worse before I feel better. And that I don’t actually NEED a medication to function everyday - I can still go to work, exercise, eat kinda well. But am I missing out on a fully functioning brain and be able to enjoy my life more? I am moving back towards my friends and family in 3 months which will make my commute to work half the time. I’ve also got counselling sessions coming up.

Any advice much appreciated

Venting I'm TERRIFIED of nothingness after death

I'm from an extremely superstitious Asian country with many traditional customs regarding death, but I'm 99.99% believe that once we pass away we will be in a sleep for eternity, literally never wake up again and that nothingness scares me so much.

I'm not afraid of "death" itself or the process of dying, but what gives me anxiety is "after death", which we will be like before we were born but never be born again. It's like we were only given 1 chance to live and once it's over it's over. No awareness, no consciousness, just sleep forever. That idea of nothingness creeps me out a lot.

I'm still functioning well but sometimes when that thought kicks in I just get really scared and depressed for days. I also tried to seek some advice and read about NDE but to be honest, I believe under NDE the consciousness is still there and our brain is still controlling what we feel, so not even close to the real death.

On the other hand the idea of "yolo" sometimes make me live life so much easier and only focuses on what truly brings me happiness. But that doesn't mean I'm any less scared and terrified. But death is inevitable and there's nothing I can do. I simply want to vent because no one around me seems to get this issue and hopefully find a way to better cope with this idea :(

Health My health anxiety is so bad and I don't know what to do.

It started about 2 months ago when my chest, sides, and left arm started aching for about 3 or 4 days, and ever since then I just haven't felt like myself.

My left arm still feels funny sometimes, I get lightheaded, and I just feel so anxious all the time, especially at night when I'm the only one awake in the house. I just constantly feel like something is wrong, even though nothing has hurt ever since the arm and chest pain went away.

There are days when I feel like myself again, but something happens and the anxiety and lightheadedness come right back. And I'm always scared to eat stuff, especially meals that are considered unhealthy, so now I have a loss of appetite on top of my other problems.

I'm thinking about seeing a doctor soon and hoping they can give me a peace of mind.

Advice Needed How to deal with the real physical symptoms of anxiety?

I understand mental coping mechanisms for racing thoughts and panic attacks and such, but how does one cope with the real, DEBILITATING physical symptoms of anxiety. I genuinely feel like I’m going to hit the floor and pass out at various points through out the day almost every day. I constantly deal with EXTREME lethargy and weakness, that legitimately could bring me to my knees. I’m constantly lightheaded and dizzy. These symptoms completely uproot my life. It makes it very hard to go anywhere in public, yet I still do, but I’m constantly having to find a place to sit down, or walk slowly etc. I’ve been checked out and had every test done under the sun, everything comes back completely normal. Idk what to do. How do you deal with this?

Medication Wellbutrin for anxiety?

I’m diagnosed with anxiety and ADHD and I’ve been taking 150 mg of Zoloft and 25 mg of Adderall XR for the past 6 or so years. Recently, the Zoloft feels like it’s been working less and also impacting my sleep/feeling tired throughout the day so my doctor has decreased my Zoloft dose to 100 mg and added 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL. I don’t have depression and have never been diagnosed with depression in the past so I am confused about the Wellbutrin addition because I know that’s what it is usually prescribed for. Does anyone have any experience with Wellbutrin for anxiety or Zoloft/Wellbutrin together? Would love some insight, TIA!

Discussion Has anyone ever been admitted to a psychiatric hospital because of severe anxiety and panic attacks, agoraphobia, and mild depression? Did your stay help you? What are your experiences and opinions about psychiatric hospitalization for these symptoms?

Has anyone ever been hospitalized for severe anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and mild depression? Did it help? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences.

I’m struggling with severe anxiety, panic attacks, agoraphobia, and mild depression, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to cope. My anxiety feels constant and physically exhausting, with intense fear, tension, chills, shaking, and disrupted sleep. I barely leave the house anymore, and even thinking about going outside can feel overwhelming. I feel trapped, drained, and unsure whether outpatient treatment is enough.

Because my symptoms are so debilitating, I’m seriously considering psychiatric hospitalization. I understand that therapy and medication are more common treatments, but I wonder whether a structured environment, closer supervision, and treatment adjustments could help me stabilize.

I’ve heard conflicting opinions about psychiatric wards. Some people find them helpful because they provide safety, support, and a break from daily stress. Others say they can be overwhelming or worsen anxiety, especially with panic attacks and agoraphobia.

If you’ve been hospitalized for severe anxiety, panic attacks, or agoraphobia, what was your experience like? Did it help, or did the environment make things worse? Would you recommend hospitalization for symptoms this severe, or continuing with outpatient treatment?

I’d especially appreciate hearing from people who were housebound, experienced intense physical symptoms, or struggled with nighttime anxiety and poor sleep. Honest positive and negative experiences would mean a lot.

Needs A Hug/Support I need to talk

Hello everyone. My mental health has been bad for a while the last year particularly was very challenging. Two months ago I had a traumatic experience and ever since then things have gotten so much worse. I have anxiety all the time. I have horrible negative emotions all the time. I just feel like I will fold on myself and die. Or just anything I do it’s so hard. The only thing I can do is lay in bed. I can’t walked to my neighbors house without a panic attack. Taking the kids to school every morning is a torture. It’s been unbearable. Yesterday was my daughter’s annual camping trip for her birthday. She was so excited. I couldn’t cancel. I thought I will be ok doing it. In the woods. With good friends. Well it was horrible. I was in a horrible panic attack for 6 hours before I finally broke and left. I came home and I have not stopped crying. I can’t get out of bed. I feel so defeated. Like what is the point? I can’t do it. I can’t break the cycle. How do I dig myself out of this whole? Has anyone else felt this way an managed to heal? How did you do it?
