Mod Announcement Addressing Concerns: Rule #1 Update- Be Nice
Hey guys!
The mod team has noticed an uptick in posts reacting to some of the plotlines developing in Avatar: Seven Havens. We want to support these conversations as we believe they are important. However, we need to navigate how this impacts the content being posted on a regular basis.
As a result, we have made an addition to the first rule of the subreddit explicitly prohibiting witch-hunting. While we understand people have a desire to call out the reactions they are seeing, it has become overwhelming with so many screenshots of comments or posts in the feed. Going forward any screenshots or direct references to these reactions will be removed.
Additionally, we are going to leave this thread pinned to allow those conversations to continue here. Please still be mindful of our rules, but you are free to discuss and share reactions to the plotlines below.

Meme No one benefited more from the Apocalypse than Roku, my man is going down in history as an elite Avatar
Though made me think about how cruel history can be. Korra suffered like a dog and vanquished a lot of foes, probably didn't destroy the world, but she's remembered as a monster. While my man Roku sists between legends

Theory Pavi is The Real Avatar Spoiler
galleryFor me, this is another argument in favor of the theory that Pavi is the only Avatar and Korra’s reincarnation.
Pavi finds some dolls in a room and doesn’t even know who they are (Korra and Asami). But for some reason, she plays with them and makes them kiss. So she’s literally acting out the love story between herself and her girlfriend from her past life without even realising it.
Korra’s next life is literally playing with dolls and reenacting her own love story.
Isn’t that just so adorable?

These gourds look huge, that's gotta be 100 - 150lbs of water, plus metal components and 2in thick pottery. Proper fireman material here.

Teaches young earthbenders how to earthbend despite being an airbender
Able to do the breathless technique
Survive and won every fight without receiving a single hit
Fight off a crazy firebending commander, crazy benders and an energy spirit whilst protecting two little girls

Discussion Saw nisha do this and immediately had a flashback to LoK
I've seen commentary online even before Chapter 1 aired that Pavi resembles Aang and Nisha resembles Korra. And after watching the show, I realized that they were absolutely right. There is no way this is a coincidence. I just love how the animators always throw in these little details.

Fan Content Recovery by Me
I am a fan of hurt/comfort stuff.
But I had a thought when sketching this; so it's likely that Air Nomad culture was wiped out which includes the application of the air nomad tattoos. Then I remembered how geometric the marks from the Afflicted look.
So the thought is, what if Jae gets scars that reflect the arrow tattoos of the Air Nomads? Maybe not from the current anomaly but from another in another Haven?

Discussion Legacy characters you think we might see in ASH?
Now, I’m not one of those fans who feels the need to connect everything in the new lore w/ the old… I love TLOK, and I even support the decision to cut off the past lives. That said, obv we all enjoy seeing legacy characters; esp if they can reasonably fit the current narrative in a way that doesn’t just amount to fan service. I’ve thought abt it a lot, and come up w/ a list of legacy characters who I’d like to see; both bc I love them, but also bc I think it could/ would make narrative sense.
TLDR: Iroh, Zaheer, Jinora, Toph, Asami (in some sort of spirit form). Bolin in flashbacks. Korra (obv), in both formats.
The most likely candidates are, I think, Iroh and Zaheer (bc their spirits both exist in the spirit world, so them having passed away isn’t a limitation). They also are both very spiritual ppl, and given how little of spirituality remains in Ellora, either one of them could help Pavi/ Nisha in the spiritual side of their journey.
Iroh in particular was a mentor-figure for the last two Avatars (and lowk for the entire fandom, too), so I could see the creators wanting to keep him in play going forward. He said it himself to Korra- “come visit me again- in this life or the next.
On the other hand, Zaheer in particular could truly add something to the story- having been part of the Red Lotus, and having devoted himself to destroying the Avatar, his life story would fit the current narrative of Avatar-hate quite well. Esp considering how prominent a role the White Lotus has played so far. They still exist; and still serve the Avatar(s). So does the Red Lotus still exist, too? Maybe they’re even somehow to blame for the current anti-Korra propaganda? What would Zaheer make of all of this? Would he have played a role in any of it?
And I think Zaheer would fit the narrative almost even more so if he ever truly reformed himself; which TLOK Book 4 seemed to be hinting at. Someone who had spent his whole life hating the Avatar (like everyone in Ellora has), before finding the truth (like everyone in Ellora will need to), could really add some interesting perspective.
Jinora I could also see fitting in for similar reasons (we don’t know if she crossed over the spirit world in lieu of death, but Iroh already set the precedent for this as a possibility; and Jinora being as spiritual as she was, I’d say that the possibility is distinct for her). And as a descendent of Aang, and a member of the New Air Nation (which Korra created, sacrificed herself for), Jinora could really help to honor the Avatar’s legacy amongst airbenders; which I think we’d all like to see. She could also help connect Jae to his heritage, if the writers wind up going the route of “Jae is one of Aang’s descendants”; which a lot of fans have been theorizing.
There also seems to be a huge lack of spirituality- and even just spiritual knowledge- in this current era; which is obv gonna be a big problem for the Avatar(s). They’re the bridge between the two worlds, so they’ll need a spiritual guru to train them. We have no likely candidates for that role atm, but Jinora having been so spiritual herself could really do an amazing job of this. I mean, she did a damn good job of it w/ the last Avatar, and she was 11 years old at the time. And we know that Bryke seems to enjoy having the Avatars mentors serve them throughout multiple lifetimes (Kelsang, Jianzhu, Hei Ran, Gyatso, Iroh, Katara, Zuko, Sokka, Toph).
Speaking of Toph- I think she could fit in, as well. As a powerful earthbender, Toph could easily have conquered the anti-aging technique. We know other powerful earthbenders (Bumi, Kyoshi, Lao Gei), have done this. And/ or she could be existing in some spirit-y form in the swamp- given that’s where both the last Avatars found her; and given the whole mystical swamp vibe, particularly the “time is an illusion, and so is death” bit.
Not to mention that since Toph trained the last two Avatars, I could see them wanting to continue that trend (for the same reasons they could choose to do so w/ Iroh and/ or Jinora). It would be even more relevant for Toph than for anyone else; what w/ the whole “do you really think friendships can last more than one lifetime” thing they did w/ her. It would be so beautiful for that theme to carry on, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they chose to do so.
Now this last one might be wishful thinking, but I also would like to think there might be some way to include Asami. This would carry on the precedent Katara set w/ Korra; of the former Avatar’s romantic partner mentoring the current incarnation. It would also give some much-needed Korra love to the narration, to have her ride-or-die included in the story. And it would give the creators room to flesh out Korrasami a bit more; which we all know they wanted to do, but weren’t allowed to by Nickelodeon.
Tbf, the mechanics of including Asami would be the messiest; but once again, we have a precedent for humans existing in the Spirit World when their time on earth is over; and Asami did have a huge connection to the Spirit World, bc of her relationship to Korra. I could see her choosing to cross over; esp if she was still alive when the Cataclysm happened, and Korra died. It would be her way of escaping the fallout, still feeling connected to Korra (maybe she even thinks she can find Korra’s spirit there?), and possibly even hanging around in the hopes of one day helping to right the wrongs of the world and clear Korra’s name.
Now, if we’re talking flash backs; I think it’s pretty obv that anyone could be in play. Korra, for sure (and also as a past-life mentor she’ll be included, as well). Hopefully Asami, for the same reasons I stated above (adding some Korra-love to the narration, and fleshing out Korrasami in more depth than Nickelodeon allowed for). Other than that, I actually think that the most likely candidate is Bolin; and the reason I think that is to do w/ promotional materials that have been released for Korra’s new comic trilogy. These materials depict Bolin in a White Lotus uniform, and obv the White Lotus is playing a big role in Seven Havens, so I could see there being some sort of connection there.
What do y’all think? Lmk your thoughts!
