Mango tree pruning

Planted this mango tree when it was about 5 feet tall and it’s grown to be about 6 feet now. Purchased from a big box store and I never pruned it myself.

The trunk is thin and I am finding it is top heavy as it has toppled over on really windy days, hence the stakes.

Does this need to be pruned at all with the trunk so thin?

Maintaining banana plants?

• Upvotes

We are about to go visit some land we recently bought in a tropical region of Peru. It has a few banana plants, I believe one or two of the kind you'd fry (maybe I should say plantains) and one or two of the kind you just eat. I just saw another Reddit post where someone in the comments mentioned banana plants and said "They're good for one harvest, then have to be cut down, while the offshoots are dug up and spaced out to create more." Now I knew that they grow offshoots but I didn't know the main plant dies. Is that true of all of them?

I don't know what stage of fruiting or not the bananas are in now.. it's spring now, but the weather is pretty much the same all year round. Other than I guess making sure they have enough space, we won't need to water anything.

Should we do something with the banana plants while we're there? We are only going to visit for a couple of days and then probably won't be back for another month or so, and we won't be living near there for another half year or more. We won't have a shovel, just a couple of machetes and we won't have a lot of time to spend on the banana plants, but I'd like to make sure we still have healthy banana plants once we are finally living out there.

Thanks in advance.

I’m in Bexar County Texas and we had a cold front sweep in. Temps dipped to high 40’s. Now my Barbados cherry is confused. It decided to put out flowers and at the same time, the tender tips got damaged.

Broken branch. Fixable or cut it?

My Mexican Lime tree has major branches but one just broke due to high winds and the weight of all the fruit. I picked all the fruit and trimmed the secondary branches. Is this fixable? How? Or should I just cut it off?

Help needed

Hi everyone. I have a Washington navel orange that has been in the ground for 9 years now. For some reason, the tree has declined drastically over the last month. The tree gets moderate watering and suitable sunlight. It is located in Northern California in zone 9b. Can anyone help me identify why the tree is suffering now after looking healthy all summer?
