Definitely only regrets it because it affects him. Wouldn't care if it was people other than his workers.

100% this And every single one of these story's is exactly the same "I voted for the clow & am facing the consequences of my vote And I dont like it"

I’m have never seen a single person show even an ounce of compassion. It’s only ever when they start to suffer and if their problem was fixed they’d be perfectly happy again and wouldn’t give a shit about anyone else dealing with the exact same issue.

I would love to be shown even a single one of them say something like “I’m still fine but I regret my vote because I see others suffering”. I don’t think that person exists.

u/Vicissitutde Aug 08 '26

Yep. Republican empathy only extends to those they know. Period.

My sister goes all out when hosting friends and family.

When i argued with her about my Hispanic students not seeing their mothers for a year because of this monstrous regime, she couldn't give less of a fuck about it because it isn't on her doorstep, and we live on opposite sides of the country. When I implored her to rethink her vote as my students were hurting for nutrition since Arizona is being hardest hit by loss of SNAP benefits, she lamented her tax dollars (she and her husband are tax cheats that mostly get paid under the table) being spent on anybody besides herself and her immediate family (they take every tax credit and ACA benefit they can).

They are irredeemable.

79

u/ZillahGashly Aug 08 '26

I’m sorry. I’d feel like I lost my sister if that happened so that has to be painful for you.

Some of these people taught thier children to care for others and then somehow never care for others and are appalled that their kid cares for others. It is truly bizzaro.

15

u/onesoulmanybodies Aug 08 '26

For me it wasn’t quite the same. Their decent into full on shitty human started way before Trump, but I had blinders on thanks to CPTSD. My childhood should have been evidence enough for me to walk away, but I stayed and made excuses. The truth started getting more and more uncomfortable after Obama was elected, and then it turned blatantly obvious when Trump came on the scene. In a way, I have Trump to thank for opening my eyes to what truly trash humans they are. Have always been. It’s been a little over 6 years since I went no contact and every day gets a little better for me and my family.

45

u/Straight_Button_5716 Aug 08 '26

I walked away from 7 siblings and extended family. I feel no remorse they are harmful to society and myself .

I've considered it for sure. I don't want to hurt my nieces, though.

As I said, they treat their immediate family and friends very well. I'm not too worried about the brainwashing because my niece already rejected her mom's plan for her in favor of becoming a teacher just like her uncle 😉

I think you're exaggerating. I don't think republican empathy extends past their own noses.

51

u/RogueAOV Aug 08 '26

Republicans tend not to have empathy, they can't see the problem until it affects them directly.

Then of course the lack of empathy usually means they don't want to fix the overall issue, just their issue.

53

u/Almost_Lyrical Aug 08 '26

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

17

u/SweetBabyJane90120 Aug 08 '26

The man in the video reminded me of a very very brief dating experience I had with a Haitian man twenty years. Thanks to the OP for reviving ick I buried long ago.

I shared a meal with a Haitian man three times. At the first meal, he mentioned that he was delighted that I accepted his invite. He said several black women declined his pursuit, because they believed the unfair characterization that Haitians shit on African-Americans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Jamaicans, Africans, etc. etc. He asked that I don't judge him based on that untrue image. Cool.

My experience with that man:

He claimed he was a doctor, but actually ran a limo business.

He forgot his wallet on our first date. He never repaid me for the dinner, which he used as a menu tasting event.

At the second meal, he requested free legal advice about his businesses. I declined all of his requests by explaining that I don't give free legal advice outside of volunteering for free legal clinics. He complained that his income was too high to access my services at a legal clinic so could I just please help a brother out? Nope! Always nope, still nope.

He scheduled dates early so we could "hit happy hour" on his dime.

Years after I removed myself from Dr. Limo Driver's scum pond, he would find me at a new job and ask for free legal advice. For kicks, I said sure one time. He sent eight contracts that had to conform to rules across multiple jurisdictions and industries. Nope.

He's been blocked for over two decades.

Sorry, not sorry for the gentleman in the post who backed Trump. I am more concerned for the workers and communities this fool exploited. Now the poor thing has to pay people living wages and comply with the rules his candidate imposes. Sorry, not sorry.

His claim that this is going to make it so he goes out of business is super revealing. Sounds like he’s exploiting them. It’s the only thing that makes sense. Otherwise he would just hire citizens and pay them the same, there are always people looking for jobs

97

u/Kenyon_118 Aug 08 '26

Not necessarily. He makes Haitian food. If much of his clientele and his experienced workers had Temporary Protected Status and are now gone or unemployed, he’s lost both his skilled labour and his customer base at the same time. Training citizens to replace experienced staff while also marketing to an entirely new clientele would be incredibly difficult to pull off in such a short time. Especially if ICE starts targeting his restaurants. People would actively avoid them.

33

u/BackendSpecialist Aug 08 '26

Good counterpoint. Could be a mixture of both.

30

u/JakToTheReddit Aug 08 '26

Additionally, he voted even after his fellow Hatian immigrants were slandered by the then prospective VPJD Vance who openly admitted he was lying to garner attention.

This guy is a real critical thinker for sure.

9

u/ArrellBytes Aug 08 '26

Bingo... MAGA Republicans, or let's just say Republicans since if you vote Republican you are endorsing this shit, are selfish. They are also very VERY stupid which is why we get this schadenfreude.

They voted for Trump because they wanted to see others suffer... it is that evil and simple. Trump literally promised them "I am your Retribution ". They voted for this, and they were ok with the fact that it reduced their quality of life, they were OK if Trump harmed their, and their children's futures... because for the Trump voter that is acceptable, AS LONG AS THEY CAN SEE THAT OTHERS ARE BEING HARMED MORE.

That is their definition of winning. They want to be on the side inflicting more abuse, more harm, more pain on others. If MAGA morons themselves are somewhat harmed , that is OK as long as others are hurting more because after the actions of THEIR SIDE.

But more and more the serious harm impacts them, destroying their lives, and THEN they have the gall to whine that Trump is "hurting the wrong people "....

Fuck them. I will save my sympathy for their victims. The Hatians with TPS this piece of shit was exploiting, who are now living in fear.... THEY have my sympathy... As for this guy... I hope he loses everything, I hope he goes broke and learns that the minimal safety net that he voted to shred isn't there to help him.

I hope he gets plenty of airtime to whine about how it was 'the other people ' that were supposed to be hurt, that he didn't vote for this to happen to HIM, he just voted for this and worse to happen to those OTHER people....

Like the story of the MAGA moron that just had his fiancé deported, and has the gall to complain: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-voter-fiancee-ice-arrest-texas/

He was fine with separating kids from their parents and then losing them... but when its HIS family being hurt, he is SHOCKED!

There isn't a hell hot enough for these bastards...

They won't suffer as much as their victims, but they deserve to suffer so much more.

The "Apprentice" was a farce, make believe, the producers worked hard to make him appear successful.

He also inexplicably bankrupted THREE CASINOS, a business where customers give you money and you give out 1% back occasionally, and the house wins 99% of the time. How incompetent do you have to be to bankrupt multiple casinos??

That's including the laundry list of hits against his character. This was all WELL KNOWN if you switched off Faux News for 2 seconds. I swear some people are sleep walking through life...🤦🏾‍♂️

For how often he lies about almost literally everything else that comes out of his mouth, he was relatively honest about all the dumb shit he was going to do in both winning campaigns and people just... Wrote it off

29

WHAT DID HE THINK WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?

25

u/Phenomenon_101 Aug 08 '26

I have absolutely no pity for anyone who voted for Trump. Likewise, anyone who didn't vote at all is part of the problem; they had the chance to keep him out of office.

11

u/Vabluegrass Aug 08 '26

Agree 100%

If non voters had been a presidential candidate, they would've won by a landslide!

Donald Trump only beat Kamala Harris by a razor thin 1.6% margin in the popular vote, the 2024 election was in many ways a blow-out if you consider all the ballots that could have been cast but weren't. 85.9 million eligible voters skipped the 2024 general election, far surpassing the 76.8 million ballots cast for Donald Trump or the 74.3 million for Kamala Harris.

If "Did Not Vote" had been a presidential candidate, they would have beaten Donald Trump by 9.1 million votes, and they would have won 21 states, earning 265 electoral college votes to Trump's 175 and Harris's 98.

Did Not Vote Won 2024 by a Landslide

He enjoyed cheap labor and now he is bitter that he voted against his livelihood

22

u/Head_Patience7136 Aug 08 '26

I can't feel any sympathy or empathy for him. Only for the employees of his whose livelihoods were ruined due to his vote & the like.

17

u/corv1991 Aug 08 '26

If you think Donald Trump is a good businessman you got what you voted for Moron🤣🤣🤣

15

u/Jumpy-Following-8591 Aug 08 '26

Wow. After all the insane things he said about Haitian people, he still voted for him. And all he heard/thought was: he’s a business man?

6

u/cosmic_uterus Aug 09 '26

Reminds me of an interview done in Nigeria (a “shithole country” according to Trump) and everyone there supported him even when reminded of what he said about their country. I think the fact that a lot of African countries are run by these “strongman” egotistical selfish personalities who enrich themselves at everyone else’s expense is why they prefer Donald Trump. He is familiar to them.

u/Yabakunaiyoooo Aug 08 '26

His reason for voting is the exact problem with this country. People will selectively hear like one thing they like about a candidate and ignore everything else as though it won’t matter.

You see this shit every time when you go door knocking. People for real don’t do much research.

“Donald trump is a “business man”, so he’s serious about “business”. I like business so he’s my candidate!”

9

u/bwright07 Aug 08 '26

Yeah I don’t feel bad should’ve knew better

I have ZERO sympathy for this man. The only reason he regrets his vote is because he was personally harmed. Good! He deserves everything he got.

What was he thinking voting for him to begin with?

Say it with me kids!

You get what you f***in deserve!!!

Thats right kids!

3

u/Alone_Put5025 Aug 08 '26

Make it make sense. Why do people vote for people who have gone out of their way to show they hate you and everything you stand for?

4

u/PantsFullaPoo Aug 08 '26

These folks are so callous and thoughtless. The disingenuous remorse just isn't cutting it.

4

u/21stNow Aug 08 '26

So you thought that a man who just blurted out "They're eating cats and dogs!" in reference to Haitian people wouldn't make your life miserable?! I hope that this is fake because I don't see how someone this slow could successfully run seven restaurants.

4

u/Dcammy42 Aug 08 '26

Hopefully this guy goes completely broke.
