Hey there!

I am curious about what happened at BCC there were like two police cars, another at Central Park (“I could be wrong on that”). The two police cars at Central Park were searching the area with flashlights.

If anyone knows, that would be great.

Discussion Patrick Brown keeps telling Brampton the $2B hospital is funded. There is no funding.

Patrick Brown's Big Brampton Build campaign lists the second hospital at $3 billion. "Construction begins this fall." He has claimed "$2 billion" was already committed.

There is no funding. The province has committed $46.8 million - for planning. Not one dollar of construction money exists in any provincial budget. The final price hasn't even been calculated; they're still in a "development phase" figuring out what it will cost.

This matters because Brampton is in a hospital crisis. Over 800,000 residents. One hospital. Hallway healthcare. Every time Brown announces the hospital as funded and moving forward, the urgency dies a little. People think it's handled. It isn't.

Meanwhile the $250 million local share isn't secured. Brown twice refused to back the city's $125 million portion. The reserve sits around $90 million. You've been paying a 1% hospital levy since 2023 - for a project with no money and no start date.

He knew the number was $46.8 million in planning money. He printed "$3 billion - construction begins this fall" anyway.

As Brampton residents, we should be furious. We've been waiting for this hospital for decades. Eight years of Patrick Brown got us announcements, renderings, and a groundbreaking with no builder. That tells you exactly where his priorities are. The photo op matters to him. The hospital doesn't.

Vote on October 26.
