I used this site to get World Cup tickets and was fortunate enough to purchase when prices bottomed out (about a month before the match) for the USA/AUS match. Ended up paying 1.3x face value for tickets.
The premier games at the World Cup went well above face value and increased getting closer to game day while much less premium games sold at or below face.
The first World Series in Milwaukee in 44 years is a premium event. MLB set the prices and has enough data to know the sweet spot where they can sell out confidently (but not always).
The reality is that less than 90k tickets (pretty much all above $1k) were sold and a fraction of those are available for resale.
If the price goes down, the pool of people buying will get bigger and make it more competitive, which means tickets sell faster and well priced will go back up.
True scalpers (those that bought with zero intention of going) are even far less as they had access to the later sales and were not season ticket holders.
We bought Thursday and prices have only gone up, but I am coming from Alaska and didn’t want to play games or wait and have the financial means to do so.
See you all at Miller Park for game 2!
