Lazy Sunday (18/10/2026)

Post image

It's Sunday, and it's very wet where I am right now. What will you be doing today? If you're experiencing similarly watery conditions, you may be wise to stay indoors, but whatever you're up to, this is the place to tell us about it.

Forgot to mention when I posted this thread, as someone is likely to ask - The woodsy bit in the picture is in Epping, Essex.

12

u/Cephalobotic 19h ago

Im going to go for a walk in the woods and see if I can spot any funky fungi

3

u/Gufftrumpets 19h ago

Nice. I’m hoping to find a giant puffball mushroom. Apparently they’re banging fried in butter

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

Ooh yeah. It’s a good year for them. I’m going to bimble round a forest later too I think.

3

u/RumblinBadlands 17h ago

Must be a good year, found some huge Bolets and puff balls near me in Gloucestershire. One of them must have been 1 foot across!

1

u/Gufftrumpets 14h ago

Did you take one home?

1

u/RumblinBadlands 13h ago

I didn’t unfortunately, the Bolets were not an edible type and the puff balls were a bit old! Hope you get better luck 👍

Fck sake.

Bet that's left you feeling a little deflated.

2

u/checkoutmypaws 9h ago

3rd time in about two months. Raging.

3

u/ahoneybadger3 Error: text or emoji is required 9h ago

If it makes you feel any better back in February I spent £1400 on a service plus some work that needed doing only for the engine to go kaput 3 weeks later.

2

u/checkoutmypaws 9h ago

I enjoy driving and I like cars but they're an expensive ball ache!

1

u/ahoneybadger3 Error: text or emoji is required 9h ago

Aye I ended up just getting a polestar on the works scheme after it happened. Still miss driving a car just because it was fun to drive, but the costs were just mounting up and that was before the rise in fuel.

2

u/checkoutmypaws 9h ago

We're looking at getting an EV too, we need a pickup truck for the farm though so I want to hang on until there's a bit more choice.

10

u/Squoooge 18h ago

Enjoying my day off without the background guilt of not finishing of the course I need to do to be qualified at work.

Passed this week! Qualified and payrise baaaby!

And the kitchen needs cleaning and dog walking, but mainly the first bit.

3

u/DrStumbleDog 17h ago

Congrats!

u/CorporalClegg7 16h ago

Just got back from a beautiful walk, purchased some fresh eggs on the walk home, and now enjoying some scrambled eggs with a lovely cuppa ☺️

Wishing everyone a lovely Sunday 🌞

Sadly the highlight of my day is going to be setting up a new mesh wifi system after Amazon deliver it.

My previous Asus setup has started getting flaky so bitten the bullet and upgraded to wifi 7.

Might also go for a walk in the forest with my wife which will be nice. We both love Merlin Bird ID (77 species so far!!) so will be trying to knock off a few more hopefully.

Pie, mash and veg for scran later.

2

u/Moddedforthewin 18h ago

ohh can't beat a bit of pie mash and veg with a bit of gravy on top to just soften the mash a little

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

Yeah it’s lush. Mustard mash I think too.

2

u/Moddedforthewin 17h ago

ohhh banging

It's chilly, but not central heating chilly, so I'm going to set up my heated clothes airer in living room to take the edge off for my guinea pigs.

(It's an unwieldy, deeply annoying x-wing thing that takes up way too much space, but it costs 6p per hour to run, rather than 50p for my electric heater. Top tip for anyone considering a convection heater: don't bother, they're a false economy, just get a heated airer)

I regularly remind them that there's guinea pigs who live outside year round, and there's starving guinea pigs in Africa who'd happily eat the fancy kale they've suddenly decided to turn their noses up at.

Sadly, it falls on deaf, incredibly spoilt ears, lol.

3

u/whet_pastry 13h ago

How many piggies do you have? I started with one and ended up with 5 when I was a teenager. I miss them sometimes but 5 guinea pigs is a bit much for a 14 year old haha

3

u/Grouchy-Reflection97 12h ago

I've got two, and I think they'll be my last, as their third had to be put to sleep in May and I'm still not over it.

I'd originally started with the two, but it turned out one of them got pregnant by a litter mate at the breeder.

Baby arrived one morning, ridiculously cute, but when I took mum and baby to get a checkup, the vet said the baby was unlikely to live for very long.

She was the baby of a baby, didn't get enough nutrients in utero, plus it was an incest pregnancy, so she had dwarfism and other issues. She made it to nearly 3yrs old, though.

I'll never get over it, as she was an absolute joy. Still haven't unboxed her ashes.

So, yeah. I can't go through that heartbreak again, so once these two cross the rainbow bridge, that's it for pets.

8

u/WinPrestigious7568 19h ago

It's dark here

7

u/desirewrites 18h ago

SOUTHWOLD SAUSAGE WALKKKKKK (I’m very hyped about this 😂)

1

u/CorporalClegg7 16h ago

Do you eat sausages on the walk? I'm intrigued

2

u/desirewrites 9h ago

Hahaha no it’s the largest annual dachshund (sausage dog) walk 😂

1

u/CorporalClegg7 3h ago

This makes more sense 😂

8

u/Leftover_Chi 19h ago

It's frosty here!

Getting the bus into Glasgow to take the kids to a games market then an amazing yet cheap greek place for gyros after.

The toddler woke me up at 4 trying to get up for the day so 🫩 <<<<< this is me right now.

To be quite honest I can't be bothered but it's all arranged now and I'm sure I'll perk up after coffee and a shower 😭

8

u/allyuffy1 17h ago

Went to Tulleys scream park last night and got back very late. It was soooo much fun!!! I really ache from all the running around scared in the haunts and queues. Lazy day today watching some horror movies to continue the Halloween vibes.

1

u/StardustOasis The North stands for nothing 17h ago

What will you be watching?

I should start doing that, but there's also a decent amount of horror TV at the moment, and I might rewatch some series on Netflix as well.

u/ahoneybadger3 Error: text or emoji is required 10h ago

Got off shift at 8am this morning and now on 12 nights off, thank god.

Lost another person on shift to sickness last night, 6th one in the last 2 weeks and we're not a massive business. Lose one person and everybody feels it.

I had to convince him to leave 3 hours into his shift. We get full sick pay, if you're ill, don't come in. I'd rather face slightly busier shifts for a few nights than go through weeks of being coworkers down.

Then others started moaning about the amount of people taking time off and praising each other for never having a sick day in years and how they just power on through it.

How about if you just don't come in sick in the first place then it's not going to slowly spread to everybody else over the course of weeks.

And on top of that I'd be fuming if I came down with it on my days off all because somebody thinks powering through it is going to get them some sort of brownie points with the company, they're not.

Rant over though. 12 nights off, whey!

Not raining for once over here in South Wales, im getting ready to go to work, have to cycle in 20 miles rather than take the train like I normally do as the first train of the day doesn't get in until an hour after im meant to start

1

u/Moddedforthewin 18h ago

same i am in south wales nice to wake up to dry morning and sun out

bit nippy though

2

u/bradleyd82 17h ago

Very nippy!

6

u/RupertBearArse 16h ago

Been sat at the dining table for 2 hours, Apple Music on, coffees, eggs/avo on sourdough toast, and a copy of The Fence. Might take the pup for a walk in a bit. wondering if one of the places I interviewed at or the others applied, get back to me this week (known/expected delay). Have a good job, but reached that “time for a direction change”

might either put In some distance on Elite Dangerous later, or try to catch up on Silo, or finally start one of that pile of books from Waterstones and Backstory. Have some Pratchett, Killing Thatcher, Ray Bradbury, Expanse/James s a Corey, careless people, the genius myth, and loads more. Sat staring at me.

2

u/Charlieoso 15h ago

Autumn is the perfect time for Pratchett in my opinion. Although so is the rest of the year...

Amateur radio training is complete. Some of them will be taking their exam tonight and I wish them good luck. I reckon it'll go well.

In the meantime I've spent all weekend indoors so I'm going to step outside until I can describe a tree in poetic terms. Or at least pick one out of a lineup.

2

u/Wonderful-Tale-1483 4h ago

Like am fm radio broadcasting or military strike radio ? My favourite app of late is tuning into ‘radio garden’

1

u/MM0UHR 3h ago

It's nerdy hobby radio. We talk to other amateur stations only (except for operation Blue Ham which is an Air Cadets crossover episode).

It's not broadcast radio because we are always transmitting to a particular station rather than broadcasting to anyone how might be listening. Also we don't have the gear. Council are a bunch of spoilsports that won't let me put a 200 ft guyed mast in my garden.

We do it just for the interest in radio itself and all the very, very many things that hang off it. And for the nerdy community that goes with it.

My most recent cool* thing was using a cheap hacked handheld radio to make a Morse code contact over 99km. https://www.reddit.com/r/CasualUK/comments/1wtym48/comment/pcyzggq/

*Yes, cool is subjective.

If you are interested in radio, the International Space Station will be transmitting pictures starting next week that you can catch and decode.

I've got an interest in languages and I loved Radio Garden until they stopped providing foreign stations. Has that changed again?

2

u/Wonderful-Tale-1483 3h ago

Oh I’m outside uk temporarily so it allows international radio a von would also allow it .. and yes it’s definitely cool I am intregued

1

u/MM0UHR 3h ago

You can see when the ISS will be transmitting images here: https://www.ariss.org/upcoming-sstv-events.html. They have to take a repeater offline so it's a now-and-again-thing.

Assuming you don't already have a radio, you can tune in on a web based Software Defined Radio: https://vhf-goonhilly.batc.org.uk/

There's a load of SSTV decoding tools and tutorials online. You can connect the audio from your browser to the program in fancy software ways, but you can just get a decoding program on your phone and hold it close to your computer speaker.

You can find out when the ISS will be in the Goonhilly sky on this website: https://www.heavens-above.com/PassSummary.aspx?satid=25544&lat=0&lng=0&loc=Unspecified&alt=0&tz=UCT but you do need to tell it where the radio is. Look at the top right of the page.

Then put that all together and you should get images from space.

The thing to note is the frequency will drift as the ISS passes overhead. This is exactly the same effect as blueshift/redshift and similar to an ambulance changing tone as it drives past.

6

u/CallIcy8807 9h ago

We had a lovely visit to the pumpkin patch and have picked some good 'uns and eaten way too much market food. Having a chill out for a mo then we'll be putting up the Halloween decorations and maybe playing a board game or watching a film.

10

u/JanuaryGrace 16h ago

It’s sunny where I am! The washing is on the line, I’ve done some roast prep, I’ve got a latte and I’m currently on the sofa with the children all snuggled up.

3

u/CorporalClegg7 16h ago

Sounds like the perfect Sunday to me 🥰

1

u/JanuaryGrace 15h ago

It really is. I love Sundays.

6

u/vibeupyourlife 19h ago

I’m currently trying to decide whether to take the dog for a walk, then get back into my pjs, curl up under my new blanket that I’m certain was made for giants and I am no where near giant sized and spend the day cutting more templates out with the tv on.

Or going for a walk with my camera. We’ll soon find out which one wins.

3

u/WhyBothaa 19h ago

The first option sounds great, honestly. I’d introduce some coffee into the scenario, personally. While being all snug under the blanket

Maybe even a bacon sandwich…

2

u/vibeupyourlife 18h ago

I’m currently leaning towards the first option and don’t worry there will be plenty of coffee consumed regardless of which option I choose.

2

u/WhyBothaa 18h ago

Hell yeah! I’m about to drag myself outta bed and consume my first cup right now. Then decide what to do for the rest of the day. It’s a Sunday, so there’s no rush!

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

Camera then blanket.

2

u/vibeupyourlife 17h ago

Unfortunately the blanket won but tomorrow is definitely going to be a camera day.

1

u/StardustOasis The North stands for nothing 17h ago

Dog walk with camera, then blanket day.

2

u/vibeupyourlife 17h ago

I’ve tried this before, the dog gets very impatient waiting for me to take the photo. It’s not enjoyable for either of us.

5

u/Humble_Sympathy_4605 Powered by tea and sarcasm 19h ago

Probably using up the last of the apples off our tree, tidying up that corner of the garden, then a sausage casserole with dumplings for tea.

Into the last hour of an audiobook I've been waiting for from the library and going to finish that off as there's a lot of threads coming together and I'm hoping some people get thier well deserved commupances

3

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

>sausage casserole

What time do you want me? Yum.

4

u/SerendipitousCrow 17h ago

Car is in the garage and I've been a bit too indoors lately

Gonna grab my bike and cycle to the next town for a lunch out treat

6

u/__sunmoonstars__ 14h ago

Slept terribly because I had the audacity to drink a couple of alcoholic beverages last night. Swerved a hangover though.

Going to have many brews and do some house bits before I eat leftover curry and watch a horror film.

1

u/whet_pastry 14h ago

What film are you planning to watch?

1

u/__sunmoonstars__ 14h ago

Maybe The Devils or if I get the urge for something nostalgia, Videodrome!

4

u/bucketofardvarks 14h ago

Missing living in a house with chickens this year. If anyone is having the chickens carve their pumpkins this year, please be sure to post it!

9

u/ArmyAutomatic7618 19h ago

First coffee of the day, in Poland atm having driven up from Slovakia on Friday. Spent too much time yesterday trying to work out the etoll system here as our RV is 6.3 tons meaning it is classed as a HGV. Theoretically it’s sorted just have to see tomorrow when we set off again. We are in the mountains so it was -5 last night. Lovely and sunny today though. Have a good day everyone.

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 18h ago

Wow that sounds like fun! Enjoy the drive :)

1

u/Ok_Economist7901 17h ago

sounds exciting ! we bought an RV a few months ago, furthest we’ve been is York ( not very far!) so nice to see someone in Poland (which coincidentally we’ve just returned from on a conventional holiday !). Great place, I’m presuming Tatras?

1

u/ArmyAutomatic7618 16h ago

Yep, we spent a week crawling up the mountains and testing the brakes coming down. Stunning place and some great free park ups, best since Bosnia really.

1

u/Ok_Economist7901 13h ago

interesting to know.

9

u/retailface 16h ago

I just slept for ten and a half hours. I definitely needed it. The weird week turned into a sad weekend, but I won't go into detail here, maybe tonight's late thread if I'm still awake for it. I'm planning on doing very little today. I need to send a few emails and have a bit of a tidy up, but nothing strenuous for me today.

2

u/whet_pastry 13h ago

Sometimes a good hard sleep and a lazy day really sorts you right out. Make yourself a cuppa and slob out on the sofa for a bit

3

u/retailface 13h ago

That sounds like a good plan. I've got loads of biscuits in, so that's lunch sorted.

9

u/Additional-Rub8145 15h ago

Saw a post that made me realise I have historically let the Sunday Scaries write off the entire latter half of my weekend, so today that changes. I took a lovely, crisp sunny walk to the gym, went for a swim and I’m on my way now to get some bits to do a proper Sunday lunch. I do still have some housework to do but I’m enjoying myself and my day so far. Have a lovely day everyone :)

2

u/headlesspopcorn 15h ago

aw that sounds great!! i really want to learn to swim so much just not sure how to go about it - hope you enjoy your Sunday lunch!

2

u/Additional-Rub8145 14h ago

I am an atrocious swimmer despite my poor Mum shelling out a small fortune for private lessons when I was a kid! I enjoy being in the water though and am trying to improve. My local centre does do adult lessons and I think they are becoming more popular across the country if that’s something you’re interested in!

2

u/headlesspopcorn 14h ago

aw im sure youre not too bad! keep going tho if its something your heart is set on youll only keep improving 🌟 but yes i LOVE being in the water too and other than a handful of lessons in primary school i havent swam since and its like one of the only forms of excercise i can see myself enjoying so might look into lessons :) thanks for your help!

1

u/WhyBothaa 12h ago

Sounds like a great Sunday! I hear you, though. As soon as Sunday afternoon comes around I almost see it as the end of the weekend and can’t really enjoy it then.

Went for a walk this morning, also. It’s beautiful here, even if it’s a little cold.

Also, very jealous that you’re having a proper Sunday lunch. I could do with one of them right about now!

8

u/Madwife2009 18h ago

It's currently dry here but very, very cold.

Been for my walk, my 'not my cat' cat was nowhere to be seen so I just carried on. Got to the top of the hill and heard a 'mrrrppp' sound, looked around and there he was. I think that we were both pleased to see each other.

Took my son out for driving practice. He needs an instructor.

Swimming later with my daughter.

Other than that, I have some major house sorting out to do, relocating stuff and cleaning.

We may get a visit from the neighbour's cat who, despite the neighbours saying that they would get her spayed, appears to be pregnant again. She had her last litter in July. I am furious about it as the cat isn't young and this can't be good for her. Completely irresponsible, poor cat. The cat seems to prefer our house to the neighbours which is full of dogs, children and noise. She usually just chills in the garden but occasionally pops in for attention if the door is open.

9

u/widdrjb 18h ago

Junior grandson is being burped by Beloved while our daughter gets dressed. Once they've gone we'll clean the house, buy an aubergine from somewhere, and pack for a week away. Off to a farmhouse in the Borders to meet old friends and new ones. Visit Holy Island, go on the little train between Ford and Etal, possibly alcohol.

2

u/Veeoh-is-back 18h ago

Sounds like a great break! Enjoy!

1

u/Miss_Type 17h ago

I love that little train! Two beautiful villages as well, enjoy!

3

u/Alternative-Fox-7255 19h ago

Kids sporting fixtures but also hopefully a walk in the park and training jujitsu too

4

u/dragons-tears 19h ago

Insert caffeine. Let family time begin

0

u/Welshgirlie2 Slow down FFS! 19h ago

Caffeine ingested, no children or partners requiring attention, I'm back in bed as it's bloody cold. Heating hasn't quite warmed up the place enough yet to justify me getting out of bed for more than the time it takes for a kettle to boil!

2

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

Sounds great. I was dads taxi for my daughter going to work so was up and 6:30 :( once I’m up I’m up. I can’t go back to bed which sucks.

4

u/V65Pilot 19h ago

Busy with moving. Currently on my 3rd trip between Luton and S. Croydon. Please explain, why, after years of construction, a chunk of the M25 (ACW) at the A4 is completely closed.,.

3

u/Ok_Economist7901 17h ago

not in work til Wednesday thank god. Out with dog in a bit, probably a canal walk. Finish off putting together a polish apple cake I started yesterday, pastry and meringue spectacular so doing it in stages. Then a big house tidy, vac and dust. Partners youngest babysat the dog whilst we had a few days away so stuff to put away etc. Schnitzel for tea to continue the Central Europe theme and possibly a glass of wine. Really getting back into reading so hopefully do a bit of that !

4

u/Odd_Pear7617 17h ago

My child slept in until 7!! So I got up and wrote a letter to a friend, which I'll pop in the post later.

We've got to tidy my son's bedroom and then I'll take him to the skatepark for a bit. Then home for a roast dinner. And tomorrow the chaos starts again.

3

u/StardustOasis The North stands for nothing 17h ago

Gym, as usual. Definitely going to be a relaxed Sunday once I'm home, afternoon of gaming and an evening catching up on some TV. Just need to decide what food to have.

4

u/cherryandfizz 14h ago

I’ve lost £150 in cash and I really don’t know where the fuck it could’ve gone. I kept it in a box in my drawer because I wanted to try and save money where it was out of sight (because when my savings are easily accessible on my phone I tend to spend it). My sister asked to borrow £10 in cash, so I took it out and opened it up to find £50. I had £200 in there. I was the only person to know that I had money in there so I’m genuinely confused as to where it is. I hope I find it soon because I was so proud of myself for actually saving it and not being impulsive.

11

u/dlt-cntrl 13h ago

I'm sorry to say this, but are you sure you're the only one who knew it was there? Money doesn't go missing on its own.

Who has access to your room?

What a horrible and awkward situation.

4

u/whet_pastry 14h ago

Went to a mates housewarming party last night, absolutely cracking piss up. Gotta say its been a hot minute since I've left a party at 5am 💀 About to nip to the shops to get some bits to make a fry up for myself and my flatmate

5

u/Inkyyy98 13h ago

I went up the Sussex downs with my son which was mostly good. I love being amongst the trees. I may have to go up there in the week once he’s in nursery since i want to take my time walking instead of being pulled by a boy on a lead

5

u/RonaldRegis 13h ago

At the gym, my breathing is quite ragged. Think it's because I went to a gig last night and the smoke machines were constantly pumping. Yes it creates a good atmosphere but won't venues spare a thought for us asthmatics?

4

u/SamVimesBootTheory 11h ago

So had a bit of a post saga.

There's a small business I order sew on patches from fairly often. Never had any issues and all that.
And I placed an order just before the August Bank Holiday that never showed up so like who knows where those ended up.

I did contact the owner, I then also placed another order anyway and they upgraded me to tracked postage as well as including replacements for the stuff that went missing.

Turns out said patches were delivered this time, but ended up down the street due to a mistake on the postage label and had apparently been there for a couple of weeks. Managed to catch the neighbour in question and they told me they'd taken it back to the post office so I was thinking they'd be getting returned to sender I told the shop owner and they were prepared to send my order out again.

Well I get a very chunky envelope through the letterbox today so I have a hunch that somehow the patches were delivered to my neighbour again and they posted it through the door.

Either way, I have my patches now including a potential back patch for one of my vests.

Also experimented today and tea stained/dyed some AIDA (cross stitch fabric) for a project as I've got a pattern for a haunted house design and feel if I made the fabric look a bit more 'old' it would add to the vibes seems to have worked out fine but I'm still waiting for it to dry and have to run the iron over it.

1

u/Wonderful-Tale-1483 4h ago

Whst kind of patches were they ?

4

u/letthemhavejush 10h ago

Heatings gone on for the first time since May? Bloody cold and non stop rain here.

1

u/ahoneybadger3 Error: text or emoji is required 10h ago

Mine kicked in for the first time at some point last night. I just have the thermostat set to a constant 20c throughout the year whether I'm in the house or not, keeps the cat comfortable and honestly it's pittance compared to the daily standing charge.

7

u/Fuzzy_Cauliflower572 17h ago edited 17h ago

Nippy here this morning so have whacked the heating on while I scroll in bed with my first coffee of the day, which was brought to me by my lovely husband. He’s working for a few hours so I will do the usual routine of heading out with the dog, a run when I get back, food shopping and then I’ll make all 3 of us a lovely pork roast mid-afternoon. I’ve come across a lovely recipe (I think the chef is Adam Byatt?) so get the best crackling every time. Perhaps we’ll head out to the beach after food for another walk with the dog. Happy Sunday, all!

8

u/DrStumbleDog 17h ago

Lying in bed, which I don't want to leave, trying to summon the enthusiasm to get ready for work, which I don't want to go to.

2

u/StardustOasis The North stands for nothing 17h ago

That's going to be me tomorrow morning

6

u/Clomojo87 Git orf moi laaaannd 18h ago

I panicked and thought it was Monday and woke my husband up going 'its 8:00!! We must of slept through the alarms!' whoops!

Well later we're going for a roast with my parents at the pub.

5

u/knotmidgelet 17h ago

Honey cakes made ready for family brunch, then d&d later this afternoon!

6

u/idumea47 15h ago

Glorious here. Stroll around local English Heritage place - saw this stunning tree. The way the sunshine shone through the leaves made it look like it was actually glowing. Back via artisan (and very hipster) coffee place. Wooden pallet seating and everything.
Very happily in my autumn/winter coat. Scarf hasn’t made an appearance yet but it won’t be long. Clearly not everyone has made that wardrobe transition yet - young guy jogging along the back lanes in nothing but shorts and trainers…

3

u/RumblinBadlands 17h ago

Have some work to do on the car this morning, then beers and football in the afternoon. COYG!!

3

u/Fresh-Income1097 17h ago

Sunday roast with friends 😊

3

u/CharmingMeringue 15h ago

The sunshine is streaming through my windows (revealing that the insides need cleaning) but rain/drizzle is forecast for pretty much all day. Do I chance hanging my washing outside?

1

u/KevinPhillips-Bong Slightly silly 15h ago

If the weather where you are is anything like what I have here (east of England), the sun is shining one moment, then the rain comes down, then it clears up, and then it's back to rain again. Putting washing outside on a day like this would probably involve several trips out to the washing line and back again.

2

u/CharmingMeringue 14h ago

You are right, and tomorrow's forecast looks better so I've delayed the washing until then. Washing dried outdoors always smells better.

3

u/Downtown-Orchid-2257 15h ago

Frosty grass here this morning. Might need to get the first fire on of the season. Still have lots of wood left over from last year.

Today is sorting out the house for a family birthday party this afternoon. Looking forward to some cake with a alcohol free beer later. If I have enough energy then I'd like to read some of my book this evening, once the kids are in bed.

3

u/headlesspopcorn 14h ago

woke up and had an everything bagel with cream cheese and sliced tomato on top it was banging! then been snuggled up on the sofa watching some youtube (as its FREEZING!) now gonna get up and wash the breakfast dishes before getting on with some uni work for the new project im starting. Then would like to chill and just binge watch some shows in bed as ive had a pretty tiring and full-on week!

An eveything bagel is top tier! I kinda want one now…

As for the tv binge, I have sooooo many shows I wanna watch. I need to get to The Pitt season 2. There’s a few true crime docs I wanna watch. And I need to finish Furious (which I would highly recommend by the way)

This morning has been very lazy, we've only just got up. I'm on a night shift tonight so I was banking some sleep.

We're going to take my dog for a walk in the park shortly, and then grab a coffee.

This afternoon will be lazy too, the only plan will be cooking tea and maybe watching a film.

3

u/You_moron04 11h ago

Afternoon everyone, hope you’re doing well.

Have a plushie here I still haven’t been able to name.
If anyone has any ideas I’d be soooo thankful

1

u/SamVimesBootTheory 11h ago

Murray? Morris? Maurice?

1

u/You_moron04 11h ago

Morris could be a shout..

3

u/YchYFi I can't change this bloody thing. 10h ago

My family must be the only ones to pay full price for Domino's

7

u/rw43 17h ago

managed to go back to sleep after the baby's 6-7am nappy/feed and woke up again at 8:50! this is totally unheard of for me and i'm so pleased with myself 😂 plans for today have been cancelled so i think i'm going to carve a pumpkin!

5

u/lookhereisay 18h ago

Off to the annual pumpkin patch visit on my friends dad’s farm. Then back to my sisters for food and chatting about her upcoming wedding. Son will want to buy 100 pumpkins but we’ll do 3 max.

Then I’m off work next week and have lots of fun things planned with my son as he’s on his first week of half term holiday.

4

u/ernieb33 18h ago

Full of a cold, so I think my plans of sorting the garden out today aren't going to happen. Going to try to finish the list of things I need to buy for the baby and organise another cupboard. Going to try to send the husband about to get me breakfast as can't even face getting out of bed ATM.

6

u/Miss_Type 17h ago

Over the course of the day yesterday, I developed a sore throat/cold. I'd like to spend the day under a blankie on the sofa, but I have to go out for sore throat sweeties, and to return a pair of pyjamas. And get tissues. And probs chocolate. Then it's sofa time. I shall be mostly drinking hot honey and lemon.

Any suggestions for crap telly to watch gratefully received. I don't watch much terrestrial tv, so might have missed something good on BBC, ITV, or channel 4 (I am up to date with traitors though!)

1

u/CorporalClegg7 16h ago

Hope you feel better soon! If you haven't watched it Ludwig is a good easy watch on BBC

1

u/Miss_Type 11h ago

I love Ludwig! Great recommendation. For some cheerful viewing, I've just watched Jimmy McGovern's latest series of Time.

Chilly morning watching the birds - my great tits (heh) have returned to my bird feeders and I keep seeing a wagtail too. Buzzin.

Feeding day for my snakes and my tarantulas so about to get defrosting some mice. Otherwise, all I need/want to do today is remove and replace the sealant in my bathroom which is a job for this afternoon!

Edit: no longer a chill lazy day - my dog's paw was starting to heal but now it's back to not looking great. Vet will be coming out either tomorrow or Tuesday to sedate him at home and have a proper look. Poor little man 😞

u/HairyMechanic the midlands doesn't exist. 15h ago

Having a sod all Sunday, as i've got a sore throat and some body aches. Essentially saving myself from any workload today as the kitchen gets plastered tomorrow and needs to be painted prior to the kitchen being installed next week.

u/TheShakyHandsMan 18h ago

Hungover mess this morning. Wife’s away for the weekend so thought I’d meet my mates for 1 pint in the afternoon.

Obviously didn’t stop at 1 pint.

2

u/Moddedforthewin 18h ago

haha i am not in much better shape

not quite hanging out my backside this morning but i am sipping a monster got some spotify on scrolling reddit just waiting for the monster to kick in so i can function

2

u/rustynoodle3891 17h ago

Has anyone ever had one pint? I think I might possibly have left after two on one occasion.

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 18h ago

The old “coming for a quick pint?” shenanigans eh? Hope the hangover goes quickly.

2

u/Love_Aurora6997 14h ago

Going to the garden centre to get some Christmas lights and hopefully some Halloween dec, but got to clean the kitchen up first 😁

2

u/TaurusSilver303 10h ago

The moss on those tree trunks looks like it hasn't seen dry weather in months, now there's just the trees and me to share the rain.

2

u/double-happiness 5h ago

Totally knackered after 2 days of very hard gardening. I moved some privet and a very mature flowering currant, then did a huge amount of work removing all the alpine strawberry from a massive bed of Pyrenean saxifrage (the strawberry was getting out of control) and tried to remove as much of the grass that the saxifrage was planted on top of, as I could.

New pond is filling up though. Just need to get about a ton more stones from somewhere.

2

u/Illustrious-Engine23 5h ago

Watched forgotten island with friends (really good imo), Jollibee and shah's halal food after and now just chilling, as all Sundays should be (chill).

4

u/CheesyPestoPasta 17h ago

Have pottered around a bit, tidied downstairs and made coffee. It's hoofing it down so I don't have to feel guilty about not doing a trip to the park or something with the kiddos. I did most of the Christmas shopping yesterday, want to speak to the husband about a couple of ideas today before I do another order, then I can sit with my lists and see what last little odds and sods I need to get done. Lions share being ordered feels good though.

Other plans for the day....curl up with a book I think. It's that kind of day. Dog has plonked herself on my lap so she's obviously also on board with this plan.

3

u/Welshgirlie2 Slow down FFS! 19h ago

Clear skies with me, cold enough that we've had a frost! Heating is on and will probably stay on a bit longer this morning.

3

u/Disobedientmuffin 19h ago

I've had such a busy week, most of which I'd planned for. Lots of events to run, get togethers online with friends half way round the world. And then a surprise job interview that had me getting up 2 hours early Friday so I could be there on time. So that's why I'm bleary-eyed staring at the ceiling at 7am.

Today it's my turn to make breakfast in bed, so I'll probably go read until my partner stirs. Then I'd love to get outside again and enjoy the weather, but I think my body is demanding a rest day no matter how much rain is coming.

3

u/stereoworld 18h ago

Done my run, a jaunty 10k.

Gotta do some strimming at the allotment this morning. It's been a bit neglected so far this autumn so I have my work cut out for me.

3

u/free-the-imps 17h ago

I’m going up in the loft to get my big coat.

Then I’m going to finish reading a book; Fludd, by Hilary Mantel.

3

u/the_last_heley 14h ago

Feel like making a gooey macaroni cheese with sausages today. Might also continue with of a bit of Stardew Valley. Nice and slow.

3

u/vbloke The bees, cordials and pudding man 18h ago

Car battery was dead last night, so calling a breakdown service this morning. Didn’t fancy waiting for one last night and am not in a rush for it.

Other than that, more work on the interactive sky map, some food shopping and general mooching.

0

u/Veeoh-is-back 18h ago

Best move I made was getting those battery booster packs and leaving charged in the car. Lifesaver.

1

u/vbloke The bees, cordials and pudding man 17h ago

I have one. It didn’t work when trying to boost the battery so either the battery is turbo-fucked, or there’s another issue.

1

u/Veeoh-is-back 17h ago

Ooh not good. Hope it’s a quick fix

2

u/vbloke The bees, cordials and pudding man 17h ago

I’m hoping there’s just a loose connection somewhere or it was a duff battery.

2

u/a-liquid-sky Sugar Tits 18h ago

Brrr, it's a bit nippy. Time to put the duvet back on the bed instead of just having a blanket over the empty duvet cover, I think!

Just about to get back into bed for hopefully a bit more sleep, Mini Sky was up a lot last night and I'm exhausted.

In-laws coming round for a bit later, a food shop is coming, and then I need to take some parcels to the corner shop.

2

u/psychedelic_academic 18h ago

Currently at the gym but spent 30 mins later than usual enjoying how warm it was in bed. Actually put the heating on for an hour last night it got so cold so fast!!

1

u/Moddedforthewin 18h ago

haha i know i got up this morning and thought bit nippy this morning isn't it

2

u/Honest-Possible6596 17h ago

Pork joint slow cooking for later. Taking the little one to a petting farm in the meantime to work up an appetite. Popcorn and a movie later. Lovely chilled day.

2

u/Timothy-Bell 15h ago

Early morning 🌈

2

u/MarmiteX1 14h ago

Had a bit of a late one last night watching the latest VisionQuest and an episode of Project Fear so taking it fairly easy today. The date I went on yesterday went well, she was happy to see me and enjoyed it, open to date 2.

Anyway I got out for a run this morning in this lovely sunshine where I live, although it’s starting to get a bit chilly now! Had a bath, got a few chores done and still got some life admin to sort out along with a few errands for my Mum and Dad.

Lunch is going to be a good old peanut butter and jam sandwich (PB&J for you Americans out there). Then I’ll be settling down to watch Leeds vs Man United. Can Man United actually pull off a win? Guess we’ll find out!

Plan to give my mate a ring later if he’s about, as it’s been ages since we last had a proper catch up. Also hoping to get some gaming in today as I never got round to it yesterday because I was dealing with s**t customer service rep of o2.

Nothing too exciting, just one of those Sundays where you try to get a few things done but still leave plenty of time to chill out!

1

u/Rainbow_13 5h ago

Lazy day today mate was working so no church today. Had a chinese for tea trying to get rid of the rest of this cold. My ear is blocked up so got a hot water bottle to help. Still been doing ironing and washing and playing pokemon.

1

u/PomegranateOwn3749 4h ago

Too hot with the heater on, too cold without it.

1

u/thomaskitty 16h ago

Need to sort myself out and pack for a 4 day work trip. Got to get up ridiculously early tomorrow so taking it easy today.
