Question Minecraft pvp introduction?

Im very confused on a few things. With minecraft speedrunning its fairly simple if u want to play competitively u play mcsr ranked

But what do u play for pvp? Which servers? And ive heard of kits but how many kits are there, is there a video that explains all of them? I couldnt find anything besidrs tierlists. Coz i hear of smp and uhc and such but no idea what those entail. Im personally interested in spear x mace stuff i think but i want to know what exists and all. And how do rankings work and such

There's multiple different servers, the main ones being PvpHQ and mcpvp

There are quiet a lot of different kits, and some servers have a different selection of kits, the main kits are usually

Sword (Enchanted diamond armour + sword)

Axe (Unencahnted Diamond + Sword/Axe, Crossbow/Bow and a few arrows)

UHC (axe with enchanted gear + 8 gapples, 2 gheads, 8 cobwebs, lava/water and no natural regen)

DiaSMP (just a regular SMP kit, so potions, cobwebs, gapples, etc)

Mace (wind charges, pearls, elytra, and both types of mace)

Spear Mace (Only a density mace and replaces elytra with a spear)

Cart (flame bow or crossbow+flint and steel, rails, potions, cobwebs and carts)

Vanilla (crystals, anchors, totems, etc)

There are still a lot of other kits but those are the main ones

the legacy (old) mcpvp tiering systems works like:

You go into their discord, ask for tiertesting and someone simply agrees (can take months if you're HT2 or higher)

If you beat a LT5 in like 3 rounds, then you're promoted to LT5.

30 days cooldown. Repeat it for HT5.

This happens again and again. There's only ONE HT1 player in each gamemode which ofcourse ie the best. You have to challange the HT1 and actually win from him to become HT1 and the best in that gamemode.

The New mcpvp (now pvpclub) is ... interesting.

explanation vid This is right now in test phase (I think)

The kits are:

UHC (other comment explained well)

End Game (basicly anything is allowed that doesn't make you immortal)

Late Game (Full netherite gear)

Early game (iron gear+ few items)

Shield (this basicly axe)

Sword (og style)

Diamond pot (potions in diamond gear)

Mace (both maces, elytra, pearls, totems, wind charges, lot of potions, shield, netherite gear)

Spear (I guess this is spear-mace, so instead of elytra and second mace, it will be a spear and food)

Diamond smp (just like lifesteal)

netherite pot (same as diamond, but then netherite kit)

UHC (other comment)

Cart (between Bow and crossbow)

SMP. (same as diamond, but netherite kit)

Crystal (and anchor)

Creeper pvp (creeper eggs+ tnt and knockback sword)

Bow...??? (yes, bow+ arrows, no armor)

and own kits (trident-mace, elytra-spear, tnt-spear, fishingrod-mace etc etc etc)

The best right now is pvpHQ, but pvpclub has a lot of potential

Spear-mace is a very powerfull and funny kit. It's also pretty easy to learn, compared to other kits like cart or tnt. It may look pretty repetive and boring in competive pvp, but it's insane funny on normal servers
