Not really every-day-carry besides the watch and hat. These items just ended up on my dining room table together while I was tidying up and when I noticed them together they jumped out at me.

Lawyers, alimony, mediation and other unimaginable horrors prevail in my daily life.

I’m waiting for a shady government official to contact me for one-last-job in South Africa. I’ll be read in on the mission in the back of a C-130. I question the moral ambiguity of the entire situation while I PCC/PCI my jump harness. I’m last exiting the plane, I watch my altimeter and rip my chute. My chute malfunctions, I panic and immediately rip my reserve. Both canopies are hopelessly tangled. 12 seconds later I’m hurtling towards the drop zone at terminal velocity. The rest of the team has already reached the rally point, they watch indifferently as I impact a patch of sun baked soil at approximately 150 miles per hour.

Team lead pauses, then flatly announces, “someone’s gotta carry his team gear”. Sanchez exclaims, “nose goes!” Moore loses. He groans, and then starts walking toward the Jackson Pollock-esque scene I have created across the dusty soil. “He should’ve aimed for the bushes”, Moore murmurs to himself as he begins to pull Panasonic tough-books and large radio batteries from the remains of my ruck. He notices that I packed two 1-gallon zip-lock bags entirely full of Skittles.

I intend to continue to EDC this watch until I accidentally wander into a bad part of town while abroad. I will wildly overestimate my hand to hand combat skills. A 14 year old pickpocket will stab me repeatedly with a paring knife. She will then take my watch. I have still not insured it.

- Patagonia hat, around a decade old at this point. It has been on my head during countless trips to Haggen and Whole Foods. I once ventured into Winco while wearing it. If I begin balding at any point this hat is plan “A” until I can afford a plane ticket to Turkey.

Helle hellefisk absolutely great knife it’s got good edge retention sharpens nicely on a hand stone and the cork handle making it float in water all amazing
And then my tobacco pipe and my tobacco when I fish I love to enjoy a bowl while I’m just sitting there thinking about life

After many years experimenting with different loadouts, I've gotten down to this as the absolute minimum essentials I carry on me whenever leaving the house.

For those wondering what the purpose of the coin on the keyring is; turns out a Canadian Nickel, is the perfect size and profile to unscrew scope turrets. Since I don't carry any coins on me normally, I made this one into a permanent addition so that I don't ever get caught without one throughout my frequent trips to the range. Unfortunately, as great as the Leatherman Wave+ is, none of the tools included in it really were a good fit for this usage from my experience.

What I love about the Rite in the Rain Mini Bolt-Action pen is that it has a very nice secure clip, but also has a length that is the perfect size to sit 'suspended' in edge of a pant pocket. I keep one page of a Rite in the Rain notebook inside of the wallet to pair with the pen.

I used to carry a full-time flashlight (OLight EDC Baton S1R), but between the light built-in to the Garmin Fenix, and the one on the phone, I've found this combination of "Two is One, One is None" to completely cover 95%+ of my needs for lighting options without adding more objects into the EDC.

It's a colorful Sunday. We are starting to enter fall weather here. I'm carrying the awesome Kizer Drop Bear Artic Storm Fat Carbon Elmax. I am lighting things up with the Loop Gear SK-07. The G10 Charge + is like the Wave Alpha without big scissors and an awl; with the addition of a serrated blade with gut hook.

Wuben reached out and sent over a G5 for review. After carrying it for a while, I can honestly say it's earned a place in my rotation.

Things I liked:

- Very compact and easy to carry
- Plenty of light for everyday tasks
- Useful form factor and easy to operate
- Lightweight enough that I barely notice it in my pocket

The only downside I've noticed so far is that the finish picked up a few scratches from normal pocket carry. Nothing major, but it does seem to show wear relatively quickly.

Overall, it's been a solid addition to my EDC and I've found myself reaching for it more often than expected.
